thats how i was raised (although it was a "black" church so there might be some differences there(meaning the music might be different), and i know for certain that we were pentecostal)...at school, it was difficult to explain to my friends why i couldnt wear pants...

Hi Michelle and Bye Michelle! I need to get DD out of her "quiet time"
I'm sure the music isn't "too" different as we are a mixed church and one of our song leaders is black. My fav gospel music is GOSPEL as in "Black or soul" Gospel NOT Southern Gospel although I can tolerate that. I guess it wasn't as hard for me to explain things cause even though we had to adhere to the standard as long as we were living in there house we were always taught that unless it was in our heart to do so then it wouldn't matter. When I didn't go to church for a while and was involved in some life scarring things (this was years later after I was grown and out of the house.) My parents and family were always there for me. Not condoning what I was doing but not condemning me either. Just privatly praying for me and loving me!
Of course down here in Tx, La and Ms there are Pentecostals EVERYWHERE so most of the kids just KNOW how things are!!

This was the first Sun in MONTHS and MONTHS that I stayed downstairs w/the Adults.
It was pretty good!:t Although I missed my Sunday School Kiddoes.
Ike destroyed a big part of our Church. the main Sanctuary and Bathrooms are useable but all our SS rooms, Fellowship Hall, Kitchen.....
He was talking about how ALL of us make mistakes and NONE of us are perfect Him included and he mentioned how he can be alittle grumpy sometimesSo he told about how the phone was ringing and ringing the other day and he had been working on some of this Hurricane Cleanup Damage etc....and the phone rings and it is me so he answered Real harsh

So I asked for my MOm and he said "She can't talk" but then handed the phone to her.
Anyway he said he knew he hurt my feelings and he felt bad as soon as Mom told him what I said and he wanted to make things right not just as Dad (He'd already done that) But as Pastor.
Well what I wanted that day was I was calling to tell them about Braeton having that Seizure at school. I wsleaving the Drs and was a little upset.

Posting Under the Influence. Last night Tat was on some very HEAVY meds. It did get quite funny!!!
