Sick I caught this stinkin cold chris and I came back from WDW with AGAIN! and it's worse this time! I was miserable with a runny/stuffed nose last night and sore throat. Right now my glands just seem to be swollen and I'm sneezing like I was yesterday at work. It's like, it feels like a cold but it feels like the flu at the same time. This is the oddest cold I've ever had.

Exactly! There's plenty of shops in DTD for sure! I think the way they had it before was great. You had to pay at the gate and be over 21 to get into PI. Otherwise you couldn't just walk around there. They made a huge mistake opening it up to just leisure people walking through with their kids.

The hot air balloon might work at DTD....they're actually very popular in Florida and there are LOTS down there. I don't think I'd ever utilize it if they put one at DTD though. Sounds like a waste of $. Kind of like the Richard Petty driving experience thing.

yeah agreed. I think if they had advertised it I could have had an easier time convincing Chris to spend the extra money to go. I hope they re-open it somewhere in the World too so I can check it and the comedy club out. Oh and I also think that it was B.S. that you could buy a one club pass for all the clubs except the comedy club and adventurer's club. If you wanted to go there you had to pay $21 per person!! I'm sure it's fun and all but if you don't want to go to the other clubs then it's a rip off

I do know the reasoning behind that---The AC and the CC both cost a lot more to run (having live actors and all) than the other clubs. Also, from what I heard there were a lot of people going to the 2 clubs and NOT drinking, therefore they were not spending any money in there (especially those who were there on their WPF&M options) That is what eventually led to their demise.
(Which is partially due to what you were saying about allowing children in--they allow children to go into the CC & AC clubs with their parents--therefore, many of those aforementioned parents refrained from drinking because they had their children along)

If they open up a new club, they will have to find a way to make it more profitable. Possibly raising the price and then each person gets 2 drink tickets or something. That way those who aren't drinking aren't losing money for the club. (Maybe do something for them...like if they choose to, they can redeem a ticket for 2 non alcoholic drinks each)

Someone had even suggested serving food, but I don't think that would work in that venue.

I think what you're saying about the drink tickets is a good idea too. They really just need to hire us!

Hi LeeLee, I've been lazy a lot lately and AWOL so I'm always catching up it seems. I hoe the check up goes well for B!!! I'm sure it will. How is DH? Is he doing okay? I am sure Tyler is fine but you know have to mention him too. Hope you are all doing great. Did you have any damage at your house from the hurricane? You may have already posted that but as I said I've been missing a lot and can't seem to catch up!

Well I'm going to have to get off and get some work done. I need to get the inside straightened and then I've got to get on the roof today. Still have limbs and stuff on it and I need to get a tarp over the messed up shingles before it rains.
Oh good news. My ins adjuster called and said to get an appliance man to look at all my appliances. Its all covered on our policy since it was the power surge during and after the Hurricane that caused them to go balooky!!

I guess that answers my question about damage due to the hurricane. You be careful getting up on that roof girl! You are a woman of many talents!!! Sorry your appliances all went haywire but glad to hear they are covered!

Hi Everybody!!! I missed ya'll!!
Sharky if you've texted me the last several days. My phone split into 2 pieces right after my last text to you!!! I guess it didn't like it!

we got home Wed night. Well I guess it was really Thurs morn @ 1 a.m. Power was turned back on tues evening so we thought all was well. AC didn't work and the lights were dim, but we were home in our own beds after a LOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG 12 hour trip with B with Diarea and me throwing up with a migraine. Sooo we just turned on the cieling fans raised the windows and SNOOOZZZEEEDDD in our Own Beds!!! 2 hours after we went to bed the phone rang Yes at 4 a.m. It was DHS dialysis center seeing if he could come on in. So after trying to go back to sleep I jumped into my OWN shower and took a nice FREEZING COLD Shower!! What In The World?? As soon as City Hall was open I was on the phone reporting that my meter was still smashed and my lights were going crazy an nothing was working ( Our light company is our City and located at City Hall) They panic and tell me to cut everything off and get out of there. That power came on in my house at half power due to the smashed meter on the house and my house could possibly go into flames if I try to use any power. Then late that evening I get a call from City Hall and was told that we would have to have a licensed electricial come look at the meter and make sure nothing fried in it before they would come fix it!!!! i could just see the money fly.
So that night we spent the night at my sisters who wasnt' home. the next day the electrician came and we were then told by the power co. it would be at least 2 more days before they could come out and even look at it so I got an advance on my emergency ins. Fund. ( they just put it against our claim) and we went to look for a hotel which is impossible to get due to all the people who can't get back to their homes. I then get a call to check my meter. It was fixed!!! Seems the man who was over our home when we built it with Habitat for Humanity pulled some strings and got them to fix it. He said they( the City) are the ones whe medically evacuated us on priority and we were 2 blocks away from them and a meter only took 15 min to fix so we should be on medical priority to have it fixed. So I am home cell phoneless but............................

Wow! I found the story of what happened due to the hurricane. I'm sorry you went thru all that but thank God you didn't go up in flames from using your electric! Glad that the habit guy made the power company come out and fix you up. Great job in his part. It's always something isn't it? You poor thing and you just roll with it, you are an amazing woman!

I actually didn't come up with the ticket idea on my own ...there was a thread about Adventurer's Club closing and someone suggested something similar. Someone else also suggested making it into a themed restaurant, club, and child care center (Jr. AC).

it's quiet here too! not a bad thing though. Tomorrow I will be getting my re-certification for CPR/AED from 8-12. It expired as of this month. (AED is Automatic External Defribrillator---we have one in the hallway and several of us have to be certified to use it)
