as a result, NINE young lives are ruined! After a 3 month undercover investigation, 9 kids ranging in age from 14-17 have been arrested for selling drugs. Total entrapment. Those poor kids. Minding their own business in their own HS, it is not like they were out on the streets selling, OH! and of course, the undercover cop was a very young looking, attractive woman! Geesh, of course those boys would get her the drugs she asked for, she was HOT.

I don't know what this world is coming to, when they can put undercover cops in the high schools. :furious:

Emphsis mine

It does seems like entrapment, but "these poor kids?" They are not exactly innocent if they are possessing and selling. I guess since they were selling in school and not in the street that makes it okay then. Come on!!!:mad:

You are mad because they caught kids selling DRUGS????????? You have got to be kidding. If that were my school I would be jumping up and down celebrating that they were doing something about the rampant drug problem in high schools today. The cops didn't ruin their lives, they may have SAVED their lives. What world do you live in???

Oh, and this isn't a new thing, they had undercover cops planted in the schools when I was in high school many moons ago.

I agree! :thumbsup2 I graduated in 1996 and they had drug sniffing dogs come in all the classrooms every now and then. It made me feel better knowing they were doing that.

Hey, if I was a parent I would be thrilled to know those kids were out of my kid's high school!

Yeah, exactly what she said. It's a BAD thing to get drugs out of school?

The poor things, how upsetting for these poor innocent children, much better that the police waited a few years when they have been dealing drugs to so many more children and possibly be the cause of a few of their deaths then nab them. !!

This doesn't bother me at all. I've had two students die of overdoses in the last two years and two die from an alcohol related accident.

Better to ruin nine lives than hundreds of others.
You have got to be kidding:sad2:

Sounds like a rather successful, well-carried out sting to me. Kudos to the Narcs. :thumbsup2 Hopefully the kids will get their lives on track at some point.

I just moved to the town that his happened in...

This is the school my son will be going to... I am all for the police going in and taking care of business.

why is this wrong?? these young boys were doing wrong and they should be punished.

You're kidding, right? :confused3

About 15 years ago I was working in a large suburban high school. Every once and a while they'd bring in the drug sniffing dogs. Even though we'd see them find drugs and alcohol, the newspaper reports were always that the school was clean. I guess people want to live in a fantasy land, as in, oh heavens my child would never do anything like that.

Glad to see they're finally reporting that the drug problem in high schools is a problem. Now I just wish they'd concentrate on the stronger stuff but that's another thread all together. :p

awwww...those poor 9 young kids....how terrible they won't be able to sell drugs to all the other children in the school and possibly ruin HUNDREDS of lives!! You have GOT to be joking....poor kids....oh brother!!!! I would be SO happy if they had undercover cops in my daughters school getting all the dirt and lowlifes out of the school that are selling drugs when she gets to high school!!

Kudos to the police for a job well done :thumbsup2 . Now we can all hope the the NINE kids caught selling drugs will get their lives back on track and not let this one crime define their lives. This should be a great lesson in accountability for them.

wow...they were already ruining their lives using drugs, maybe getting them out of the school will help them get on the right track..

i have some druggies at my school, we have frequent drug searches and people are always being taken out.

who cares if she was hot, i know of some drug dealers in my school, and they will sell it to anybody, its money for them, money to get more drugs to sell to the ugly people and the hot ones and keep for themselves.

so why is this bad, because they wont go to school...yes they will, a reform school when they get out of jail (if they even send them there) and the school will pay for it.

and one more question for the OP, are you saying its better for them to sell drugs in school, and affect the learning and progress of others than selling it out on the street where they only obstruct nobody, only themselves and the people who buy their goods?

ok...sorry..just the point from a high school student

Parents applaud effort
Susan King, waiting for her daughter in the parking lot of Falmouth High School, said she appreciates the effort by law enforcement.

''I want a safe environment for my child, I'm glad they're paying attention to what's going on inside the school,'' she said.

Another parent, who asked that her name not be used, said she believes there is peer pressure for students to do drugs at Falmouth High.

''I'm all for it,'' she said of the undercover investigation. ''They should do it more often.''

O'Keefe called the undercover effort ''courageous.''

''You want to be cognizant of the rights of individual students,'' he said, ''but you have to balance that with the rights of all of the students and the parents of that school to have their kids - when they leave in the morning - enter an environment to do what they're there for, and that is to learn and not be distracted by this type of illegal activity.''

School officials embraced the drug investigation, but made it clear they believe a small minority of students are involved in drug abuse.

''This will help us send a message that smoking marijuana, using illegal drugs is a very wrong thing to do,'' said Supt. Dennis Richards, sitting next to law enforcement officials at the police station.

I think there is a difference between buying the drugs and selling the drugs. If this hot cop went in and tried to SELL the drugs....well, that could be entrapment in my eyes. You have young boys, a hot woman, maybe they'd buy the drugs with no intention of using them just to look good in front of her. But, they either HAD the drugs or went out and actively GOT the drugs. Big difference.

Good for the cops. :thumbsup2

Hey Queenie..welcome to Falmouth.

I can't believe that mom is more upset about her son being "trapped" than the fact that he is selling drugs. Just my opinion, but it makes me wonder if that parent is just as involved.

Many of my friends have kids in this HS and the kids are saying that this is only the tip of the iceburg.

I say, go get the rest of them...do whatever you have to to make that school safe for the purpose it was intended..to teach kids.
