Disgusted with a DCL CM

Msmayor - I thought the concept was odd too. Now that I know the situation, I see exactly why the OP is doing it via PM (actually numerous reasons). If you take the matter to PM, you will get the information. Honestly you are making a bunch of off the mark points. Your arguments are not applicable to this situation and really I suggest you either just let it go or take it to PM. I'm not saying this in "mod" type of way, just a friendly "trust me it's logical so please don't get anymore worked up" way.

Well probably tough to take it to PM at this point since it seems the OP's box is full.

I'm not worked up at all over it...simply taking a cautious point of view, that's all. You say you know the situation, but the reality is you know the situation only from the OP's point of view. (again...not saying the OP is wrong or off-base, but it still remains just one side of the situation.) I will say that I would hope that DCL has enough integrity to FULLY investigate whatever it is the OP is accusing a CM of doing and not taking the steps to, as I think one poster said, "immediately fire" them.

To expect DCL to simply take whatever this issue is at face value without performing an investigation is unfair to the CM in question.

I haven't PM'd the OP to find out what it is, and don't intend to...but I wonder just how seriously this will be taken when we're talking about this being 'reported' about MONTHS after the fact.

If something so terrible happened, so outrageous, it makes little sense that it isn't reported immediately and it wouldn't surprise me if DCL takes the report with a grain of salt.

They may ask the CM about it, and comment about the report, but unless the actions can be verified by another source I doubt anything happens to this CM.

I agree. It happened quite a while ago.

agreed and from what the OP told me it wasn't right for the CM to do, but it happened while ago and I've seen worse done(not by CM's)

I find it hard to believe that what happened to them has not happened to others. Maybe even me.

Could someone PM me and tell me what happened since I can't seem to PM the original person? This is so wacky!!!

Because the incident apparently happened over 6 months ago, which is when she said she last cruised.

I'm assuming that this digital evidence is either photos or videos from the trip (which is what it sounds like), so if one was actually taking the picture or video, wouldn't it have been witnessed right then? And seen as terrible then?

Or when viewed once arriving home after the trip acted upon then?

Its hard to believe that no one looks at their vacation photos and videos until more than 6 months has passed. Most are looking at those things a lot after returning, to re-live the memories.

As I said, I'm not questioning whatever it is that the OP is saying nor did I once accuse him or her of being dishonest or trying to get something from Disney. I'm only saying that when DCL is confronted with something so terrible (by the OP's and apparently others' standards) its makes perfect sense that they would take a skeptical view of it considering the amount of time that has passed since the alleged incident.

I am one of those people that doesn't look at their pics immediately after returning from vacation. In fact, I haven't looked at the over 3000 pics I took on our Baltics cruise this past summer. So it's very logical that if that's the type of evidence that the OP has that they just discovered it.

Well, count me as curious but I'm not sure it's appropriate to PM just cause I'm curious. Is it something I really need to know? I hate rubberneckers at a car crash so ... :confused3

Maybe I'd be better not knowing anyway?

I agree...I'm curious, but not "worried." I have a few theories based upon what I have read here. There are stupid people in every industry, and while I'm glad the OP is filing a complaint so the CM can be disciplined as appropriate, I'm not going to fault DCL or Disney for hiring someone stupid.

Very well said :thumbsup2

Okay, my curiosity is finally piqued. Since the OP's box is full, could someone please PM me with details? I'm guessing that it's probably not as exciting as this lengthy thread makes it seem, but I'd like to know. I'm curious on whether I've ever seen something similar in all my cruises.

I sent a PM to you!

Thanks from me too. Now that I know, I see why the OP is contacting DCL and doesn't want to go into it publicly. As has been said already, it's not a safety issue and not something that should worry anyone about saying DCL, but it's a matter of poor taste and very poor judgment by the CM and the way in which was it was done should not be tolerated by DCL.

OK, I just read 7 pages.....I gotta know now too. Can someone PM me?

We are sailing next month and would like to know what happened to keep an eye out. Could someone PM me as well please?

Thank you.

I was initially worried about it being an issue with children, but that's clearly not the case...which is a relief as we are sailing in April with 2 small children.

Despite that I am still worried about what it might be, so could someone PM me the details.

Thanks

Alba

Someone PM'd me with the details. Quite frankly I don't see what the big secret is to not revealing what the issue is. There's no need to post the name of the CM or the source of this digital evidence, but this type of incident actually happens all the time, every day, in places other than a DCL cruise ship.

What everyone needs to realize is that ANYONE on the ship could be doing what the OP alleges (and I use this term because I personally have not seen any of the evidence nor do I know the CM). Disney making the choice to react to it won't prevent it from happening again at all.

This type of situation is not isolated only to a Disney CM. Any person on that ship...quite frankly any person anywhere at any time...could be doing this.
