Disgusted with a DCL CM

How recent was this?

The actual offense occurred on the Magic in both July and February. We only discovered what happened within the last week..

It happened twice???? Sometimes posting the problem will help others that may have also had a similar problem. It also can be a double edged sword and create quite the rhetoric.

Either way, I like to know and make my own decisions about what I learn.

Safe? I think that if it is a safety issue, I definitely want to know. We leave in 10 days for a MR cruise. However, in June, we will probably head to Alaska. So, if it involves safety, I would appreciate a heads up.

I stand by what I said earlier about not posting the specifics of the situation publicly. I will not do so until I hear back from DCL that something has been done about the situation.

Sailingby, I am so sorry to hear that you had a couple of bad experiences with a DCL CM!

I can not see the CM keeping her job if this is made public. This may be an isolated incident or it may be the culture that has developed with or without managements knowledge. Either way if the public would get wind of it I would bet there would be some serious retraining from the top down. I will respect your wish not to go public but I feel you are only helping to sweep it under the rug. What about others who may be affected by this? If this was my situation I would post the details all over the Internet and contact Disney. Secrecy only helps to keep any issues hidden and will not force a change in behavior.

Out of respect for Sailingby being willing to share details privately thru PMs, I will not post details either. But whether on the clock or not when said offense(s) were committed, I find the offenses ABSOLUTELY APPALLING!!!!
I do agree with the points made by Wadekind. I think this could very well be a classic situation of using this CM as "an example" to other CMs as to what will not be tolerated.... I hope DCL takes this seriously. I think they will! Esp with the existing proof!!!

I agree!! And if this CM has been assigned elsewhere, I feel bad for future passengers of whatever cruise he/she is on.

I hope sailingby will not mind, though, if one of us just points out to others who are reading that this isn't a safety issue. I was nervous, too, but she did PM me the story. I am appalled, but not afraid. I'm sure she'll keep us posted, now that we're all on the edge of our seats.

Surely there is a way to see if other CM's are also involved. Any and all involved should be fired!

Yes, PLEASE DO NOT BE AFRAID TO CRUISE!

What I have encountered is not a safety issue, but simply a disgusting violation of simple human morality and kindess by ONE CM! This is not an issue of the cruise line, but ONE EMPLOYEE who has acted completely astoundingly. Please do not hold DCL accountable for this -- I know I am not going to. There is no way to check for horrible pigheadedness in a background check. I just feel as if this issue should be brought to the attention of the management so it can be stopped!

My PM box just filled up rather quickly. I have to bring my DD home and put her to bed within the next few hours, so I might not be able to respond to everyone as quickly as I'd like to!

This thread has almost 3,000 views. I have received approximately 100 PMs from concerned posters who genuinely want to know what happened. This board is visited frequently by Disney CMs, Disney management, the management of competiting cruise lines, and members of the press. I do not want to publicly incriminate anyone. I will let DCL handle this situation as they feel appropriate.
