Have any of you ever participated in one?

Debating weather it is worth saving $50 by renting one

How much work it is really?

Hey Rags- and everyone!!!
Happy New Year!
And, GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!

Yes, we did this, and it worked out fine. It wasn't gross at all, and best of all- it was FREE! We ended up not using it that much, but with kids, and if you end up staying at a value, I would say, why not?

It worked very easily for us!

Never stayed at a value either. The last time we stayed at a Moderate well it was when Dixie Landings was there. I know it's there now just under a new name.

I've stayed there twice when it was still Dixie Landings

Well, I guess I have to speak up for the Values...we have never stayed anywhere else. We plan on staying at ASSp & ASMo this year. We don't spend much time in the room so up to this point we haven't been able to justify the extra $$. Our summer trip last year was the most time we had spent in the pool too. Our 2 trips this year Feb 28 - Mar 2 and Dec 20 - Dec 23 will be too short for us to have much time to swim or be in the room. When we go for another long vacation we might consider a moderate. Ok enough for the Value commercial back to the question at hand...

Yes, we participated in a Pop fridge swap in June. We were there for 9 nights so $7.56 was much better than $90. Ours was cold enough to freeze water bottles in the fridge part!! And it was very clean. Let me know if you want to know which one we used...I just unsubscribed from the thread yesterday.

Hey Kari!! Your tree looks a lot like ours. Which by the way I still need to post a picture of it.

I jumped in the hoppin' at the pop fridge swap2, the other one already had my date reserved. were did you get the $7.56 number from? we are only staying 5 nights, so it would be $50 for us

How was the ASmovies? we decided on Pop over AS mostly due to not having to share the busses, did you find much of a difference (if any)?

Courtney is a germ freak so if she says it's clean, it's clean! :thumbsup2

Congrats on the big win last night:thumbsup2

How did you get it to/from storage? Were you on the first floor? If not, how did you get it up the stairs?

Well if Courtney says so.............................:)

Question for my upcoming June trip.... did anyone do the "Fantasmic Dinner Package"? How does that actually work? Do they assign you a dinner time so that you are certain to get to the show? I REFUSE to wait in the line we did last year for the show. Had a major anxiety attack as we were being pushed into the stadium, that I missed half of the show worrying how the heck we were all going to get OUT!

Now that the holidays are over, I am looking to make some dinner reservations. We know we will return to France - Dana wants to return to Rose & Crown and her other request is Liberty Tree Tavern. We enjoyed 50's Prime Time, so will probably return there, too. Bob will eat anywhere. :rotfl:

I've already made ours, if I waddle off the plane don't be surprised

We have Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe, Chef Mickey's, Park Fare, Crystal Palace, and Tusker House all for breakfast.

Park Fare, Hoop De Doo, and Primetime for dinner.

I didn't do the package, but I recieved the passes on one trip (the cashier at Pizza planet gave me an extra $10 for change, the manager was standing next to him when I came back to give it to him and he was so amazed he gave me the passes, and free popcorn:goodvibes , to the fantasmic show that night)

The entrance is close to the lockers near the front of the park, we got there about 1/2 hour early and just sat down (Of course this was late August/early Sept, so we probably could have just walk right in anyway) But I do agree- I waited almost 1 hour to get into the late show of Fantasmic, of course I was 3/4 the up, just off center :teeth:

From what I have read, they have certain times blocked off at each resturant specificlly for Fantasmic package

Thinking of character meals- I have only been to CRT

we are leaning toward Chef Mickey's and Akershus

definatly breakfast at Epcot, thinking more late lunch/early dinner for chef mickeys

thoughts?

Park Fare has a good dinner and it's Cinderella, Prince Charming, and the Step Mom and her evil step sisters.

I wasn't that impressed with the Princess Breakfast at Epcot.

My favorite character meals are Crystal Palace and Park Fare.

I haven't done Chef Mickey's in two years for breakfast. We did it for dinner last year and well let's just say not in a hurry to go back for dinner.

was it the princesses you weren't impressed with, or the food?

One's favorite princess is Belle, the other is Jasmin/Ariel depending on what day of the week you ask her:rotfl:

Another DISer who went to Akershus gave these as the princesses: Belle, Jasmine, Ariel, and Jane (from Tarzan). Who knew Jane was a princess?

That's 2 votes for Crystal Palace.................

Why is it getting so many votes? I would think that they girls wouldn't enjoy it as much being as I think they have outgrown Pooh

The food is so good and if you get an ADR early enough you can get in before the park opens to the public.

Renee... we do the Fantasmic Dinner package every trip because I refuse to wait in that crazy line.... it is really easy. We usually eat at Mama Melrose... last I knew you had your choice of Hollywood and Vine, Mama Melrose and Brown Derby. You order off the menu just like everyone else. They give you a card that allows you back door enterance. The enterance is down by the place where you rent the strollers and wheel chairs. You arrive there about 30-40 mintues before Fantasmic, and show them your ticket and they let you in. You will sit at the right side of the theater if you are looking at the stage. The seats are fine... we always sit towards the back because we don't like to get wet. You do have to reserve with a credit card and they usually make all the Fantasmic reservations before 6pm. If it is a night where there are 2 shows the enterance ticket is for the early show only.

Hope that helps.....:)

Good food at CP. How old are the girls? Garden Grill is another favourite. I would not do CRT again unless Brookie begged me.

Hope that helps.....:)
Hey!!! Are you going to have an open house for the one you have listed down the street from me? Let me know. I want to be one of those annoying neighbors who just walk in! :rolleyes1
