I still think they are. We never have got a code as far as I know.

Well after further review, the code was actually sent to Scilla, just to my e-mail address:rotfl:

Hope it works out for you! Always great to save some money! :thumbsup2

However, I'll bet it doesn't beat Bob's "employee rate" at the Dolphin...(rubbing it in a little....:rotfl2: )

Is that better than the nurses rate?

The swap that we did was $7.56 per swapper so that's where that number came from. We stayed 9 nights so if we would have gotten one from Disney it would have been $90. It was stored in the luggage area. When I went to pick it up I also borrowed one of those "flatbed" luggage cart/hand truck things. Pop has elevators so that's how I got it up to the room.

We stayed at ASMo in 2001 so that was before Pop. I don't remember the busses being that bad. I am little worried about the busses when we stay at ASSp (on ESPN the Weekend) & ASMo (at Christmas) but DH wants to stay somewhere other than Pop since we stayed there the last 2 times. We love it but I think he secretly has a desire to stay at all of the resorts on property...at least I hope he does!!!:rotfl:

I guess Jane was crowned a princess at the same time Mary Poppins became one...Mary Poppins being at CRT really bothers me...can you tell?

How fun!! Both of my girls loved CP, even Amanda and she is 11!

I got one earlier...I tried to use it for our trip in Feb but the special that came out was much better than the pin that I got. Let us know if you are able to use it on your trip & what kind of rate you get.

Sounds like you got in on it early, were they were chargeing everyone to actually buy the fridge. now they just want people to restock the tape and wipes

Since we were already disscussing upgrading to a mod, and using fuzzy disney math;) with the 40% off code, it comes out to only about $70 more total than it would have been using my AAA discount if we stay at either AKL or WL

Now the question is which one?

That would be hard to choose but I think I would go with WL. I love the boat ride to the MK!!

I forgot...when are you going?

I'm leaning towards WL (even though I've already stayed there)
Scilla is leaning towards AKL (especially for the animals)

We are going 8/22-8/27

I'll come on down. What a DIS meet! :cool1: I'll have to compare it to our home. I'm thinking ours is better ....

You're probably right... they used this as an investment property....really doesn't have much persoanlity or warmth to it.... but I think it could be nice because the rooms are good size.....see you Sunday:woohoo:

We stayed at AKL in November... while I loved the lobby I thought the rest of the hotel was very dark... walking in the hallways always felt like it was evening... the animals were great.... we had a nice view (free upgrade from standard room to savanah room)... I thought the pool was VERY small for the size of this resort.... actually it was nothing special... I think the pools at the MODS we have stayed at are actually better than this pool.... the beds were nice and comfy... but the furniture was so big (oversized) that you really didn't have tons of room......

I haven't stayed at WL yet.... but we won't be staying at AKL again.... just didn't do it for us.....

We stayed at the WL and, even though you already have Rags, that would be my vote. Remind Scilla that it's just a boat ride away to the MK. This really is a nice resort. The only way I would choose AKL over WL is only if we stay in the villas at AKL.

A totem pole, does it get any better?

I'm torn b/c I've always wanted to stay at AKL, but we are only going to book a standard room, and if I stay I really want a Savanah room

Trying to decide on a resort is worse than the honeymoon (I had no choice, it was GF or no Disney)

AKL is pretty far away from everything, isn't it?
WL looks really nice. (great photos, DM!)
Since Bob gets an employee rate, we will only be staying at the Swan or Dolphin from now on, but if I had my choice next time, I want to stay at GF or Poly or Contemporary. I just really love the idea of only being a monorail ride away from Epcot and MK... I really HATE those buses.:headache: (that's why it's nice to at least have the boats to Epcot and Studios from Dolphin.)

Thats what I thought, but I was on some website that lists the approximate time between everything and AKL seemed to be shorted than WL:confused:

Be careful what you wish for, during our honeymoon, Scilla was saying she only wants to stay in monorail resorts from now on. This trip is a little different as we didn't plan on taking a vacation

WL you have the boat to MK, you can take a bus to TTC I want to say and hop on the monorail to epcot and then the other two are bus of course. The only thing that's far to me it seems is DTD.

The bus takes you to TTC? Do they have one that goes straight to epcot? I didn't think they had busses to TTC

Question for my upcoming June trip.... did anyone do the "Fantasmic Dinner Package"?

We did this in 2006, and it was AWFUL!! We got there 30+ min before show and seating was full, so we tried to stand behind the wheelchairs. They made us move to the standing section so as not to block the walkway... which would have been fine, except in the last 5 min before the show, they filled in the walkway. We spent the entire show staring at the backs of people's heads while holding the kids on our shoulders! Add insult to injury... it rained 1/2 the show. Last year we did 2nd show on EMH night... 15 min wait and wonderful seats!

Thinking of character meals- I have only been to CRT

we are leaning toward Chef Mickey's and Akershus

definatly breakfast at Epcot, thinking more late lunch/early dinner for chef mickeys

thoughts?

We loved Park Fare dinner and breakfast. Akershaus was OK, but we had over 30 min wait to get seated. Princesses were Belle (yellow dress), Jasmine, Aurora, Mulan, Snow White. Kids enjoyed both. Chef Mickey's was poor. Food was very good, but characters were rude. Also, they sat us to the right of the buffet line in a little alcove... characters rarely came over there (we had to request 2 because we were WAY finished and ready to leave) and the "show" was always in the main dining area. Would I go back... yes, but I would insist on a seat in the main dining area.

we have a stupid 'law' here in TN, that if the venue allows smoking it's automatically 21+ well I have till April.

QUIT SMOKING!!! Bad habit and ages you terribly!

Since they don't know about the trip, and hopefully won't know until either the day of or the day before, thats not an option

Plan YOUR trip and just don't let on that they are included.

Doubt you'll get 40% off a value but I'm sure you'll get something. Darn you! I'd take 40% off deluxe ... no pin codes here. :sad1:

I have the code for mods. I am thinking they sent it out based on where you stayed last time. I am willing to share if anyone wants to try it!

The MK resorts are only closest to MK, and possibly Epcot because of the monorail. AKL, CSR, Swan and Dolphin are all reasonably close to everything except DTD. From CSR, we were 10 min MK and MGM, 5 from Epcot and AK.

.

We did the 2nd show on EMH night in June last year and it was a NIGHTMARE! That's why I want to try the dinner package. It was a terrible experience. We DID get a decent seat, but what we went through beforehand to get it - well - I can not live through THAT again! Nothing is worth the crowd we were thrown in the middle of! :headache:

We went to Park Fare YEARS AGO.... our first night when Dana was 3 - the weather was so stormy that we decided not to waste a park admission (on the wise suggestion of the ticket taker at MGM!) So, we took a monorail ride to see the Grand Floridian and decided to stay for dinner. The buffet was very good 11 years ago! And a certain little girl got to meet Mickey & Minnie Mouse! (check out the headband! lol)
:cutie:

Did we go to the same show? I remember I went to the same show as one of you (but we never saw each other)- I waited about 45 minutes (it was between that and RnR

Has anyone been to hoop de doo? is it inside? since we are thinking of WL, it might be worth it one night, but only if it's inside- too hot in august

I don't think I could plan a trip like that, it would CRUSH them if they thought we were going without them (although I think the older one would figure it out that we were taking them)

Ah- the good old days when tickets never expired!

I still have plus passes from 2001:cool1:

I am not smoking, don't plan to smoke. I want to go to concerts and I can't cause some of them are 21+

We've been to Hoop De Doo more times than I care to mention. It is inside.

Yes, I had forgotten, but we were at the same show. We were to the far left near the middle. It was SO hot and humid that night, but we had enough room to spread out and put our feet up on the bench in front of us. We didn't stand in line before the show... just walked up and got in the end of the line... all the way back at the Crossroads at the entrance!

We did HDD in 2006, and it was WONDERFUL! Yes, its inside. Yes, beer is included. Food was very good if you like southern food... fried chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans, cornbread, strawberry shortcake. Both kids LOVED the show, and they were 3 & 8 at the time.

Avery had the most fun at Park Fare. They have Cindy's Royal Gala now. We took Avery to Bibbity Bobbity Boutique to get her hair, make-up, and nails done, then she wore her Cindy dress to dinner. Prince Charming asked her to dance! So cute!

As for CP, you're neices will probably like it, even though it is Pooh. Tucker really enjoyed the character meals (even the girly ones!) and there were always tons of kids his age around.
