Oh, the Barney show... :scared: I had forgotten about that. The horror... {shudder}

Seriously, kids love it though. There is quite a bit to do with littler ones at Universal Studios!

Its so funny about the Barney show. We have been going to Universal for a long time. My oldest was about 2 when he first went(he is now 12 1/2). Then my 2nd came along, and she went to Barney as well. We were there 2 yrs ago, and do you know what.. It was the exact same show. The same songs, the same everything:confused3 . Maybe there is not so many regulars like me, but really need to change some things around.I guess it must just be me who realizes it. There is an awesome Barney playarea when the show is over. It seems like the kids NEVER want to leave that area.

I can't believe they've been doing the exact same show for so long! You'd think they'd change it up every few years at least. The worst part of the show is the whole "preshow" when you're waiting to go into the theater. I hate that preshow so much!

The Barney play area after the show is nice, but like you said, it's very hard to get your kids out of there!

Kari: Sage green... my favorite! You should come and help me redecorate! I have MAJOR plans for redecorating the house starting this summer. Going room by room, now that it looks like I will officially 'retire' after this school year. Sort of doesn't make sense to stop working to spend more money, does it?!

We have been waiting for the right time to start adding on, as it will be major, and effect (affect?) most of the house. My garage is attached to the house by the hall w/ the laundry closet and side door, with a breezeway between house and garage. We will make the doorway the stairs, which will go up to a bonus. The bonus will be 26x24, but we will make Tucker a bedroom (11x24) on the back 1/2 of the house, and the front part will be the bonus. We will also raise over the laundry closet area, and expand the master bath... I want a huge garden tub! We have a wrap around porch which is lovely, but only 1 storage closet in the entire house. So we are going to enclose the wrap portion of the porch, and make a big closet that will open from the corner of the den. Then we will take out the wall between Tucker and Avery's rooms, and make her a large (11x22) bedroom. Basically, a very ambitious home remodel... between $50K by the time all is said and done. We are trying to pay off all bills before getting into this, so we have "wiggle room" once we take on this new loan. I enjoy "doing" too much to have all my $$ tied up in the house!

Cruise: we went on the week long Disney Magic Eastern Carib... LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT! Because of that, I can't imagine taking a shorter one. lol I would have to create my own "land & sea"... and spend two weeks!

I'm scared we won't like cruising, get seasick, etc. I worry about wasting all the money, and not enjoying my vacation. If we do land/sea, and like it, we can do a full cruise next time. If we hate it... at least we had 3 days in WDW!

Opps, your right. I only know that I couldn't book a lower cabin and stay at the GF, so I didn't look too much into it.

And if they really do offer an AAA discount I will be furious at Small world vacations for telling me Disney did not offer AAA discounts on cruises. I did book my cruise in May of 2006, so I would hope they hadn't sold out of AAA rates that early :lmao:

Actually... I think I was only part right, after all. My bad! I went online to compare my quotes, and the 7 night was only $100 cheaper... basically the price of the Cat 12 room, but the quote said Cat 11. The 3 land/4 sea cruise was $3712.24 through Disney, and $3020.24 through AAA. That is Cat 11, mod resort, and 3 days base tix. DDP and tix upgrades can be purchased.

WOW! I'm exhausted just THINKING about all those renovations!!! I don't have the patience to live through that - I would take the bulldozer and just start over. :rotfl: Seriously, though, your plans sound lovely and I can't wait to see "work in progress" through pictures! Do send!!

I have the worst stomach on record, and was VERY worried about seasickness, etc.... I bought those "Seabands" and took one dramamine each morning.... NO PROBLEMS at ALL!
I just find that I don't really start 'relaxing" until day 3 of my trip - wherever I am... and so just as I would be getting used to being on the cruise, it would be time to go home! And, I'm not one to do anything the last day of any trip - we pack, have a calm breakfast, and then I WANT TO GO HOME. So... the week cruise worked for us. But, I'm sure the land/sea is a great option for people wanting to try it out.

We are going away Memorial Day Weekend... every year we head to Rocking Horse Ranch in the Catskills... Dana rides horses to her heart's content.... Bob rides and naps.... I ride and drink the best margaritas and soak in the hot tub.... oh... and we eat the BEST CHOCOLATE CAKE in the WORLD!!!
Margaritas, chocolate cake, and horses... can life get any better than that?! lol:cool1:

That sounds heavenly...well expecially eating the best chocolate cake in the world...YUMMY... I love chocolate.

About cruising, now I have never been on a Disney cruise. The first time I went on a cruise was 4 yrs ago for my parents 50th Anniversary. It was only a 4 night cruise. Up until that point I had no desire to go on a cruise. I thought it would be "boring'".. Well boy was I wrong, I loved it.4 days is way too short though. The first day they normally dont embark(is that the right word?" until around 4 or sometimes 5. Then you have to do the mandatory life boat drill thingy...By then, its almost time for dinner, a little exploring and to bed. Well unless you are night owls and dont have kids;) So day one over with in a blink of an eye. Then the day you pull back in, normally you get back by 7 or 8am... So 4 days is way too short.

We did a 7 night cruise on Carnival last yr,and I loved the 7 nights. Though, we wont be cruising on Carnival anymore. Just too many little things went wrong, that shouldnt have.

So next yr I am looking forward to our 10 day cruise:banana:

I was worried about sea sickness too. I get that sick to my stomach feeling very easily, even in elevators. I had no problems at all on the cruise.

karibritti- don't notice the hidden mickey's, but see them now.

going back next year- no we aren't, but I'm checking out Disney cruises for next year for me and hubby it will be our 15 th annv. and want to go with out the kids. We did the 4day Dcruise two yrs ago and loved it. DH gets seasick when he goes ocean fishing but didn't on the cruise. Go figure.

What kind do you have? Are they just the base tickets, no hopping? Or do you all have park hoppers?

I know this is a bad word...but anybody else going to the "Other" (non disney)park while down there?
We have 7-day base tickets this year. After I figured out where we would eat and which parks to go in which day, park hoppers really wouldn't be worth it to us. We have no problem going back to the same park in the evening. I am sure when the kids are older and start going off on their own then park hoppers will be a definite.

Someday we will go to Universal Studios but not until at least both boys can go on all the coasters and we will definitely stay in one of the Universal hotels.

Are you going back in June 2008? or when is your next trip to Disney World?
Probably not. Unless Rob gets 2 weeks from work off in a row, we may consider driving down and back. We will probably save our money and do a cheaper vacation like Cape Canaveral next year in a friend's condo.
Now we can do MK on our last day, then hop over to Epcot for the DISmeet at Norway! :woohoo:
And that will be the highlight of your whole trip! :woohoo:

Oh, you guys need to stop talking so much. Don't you have packing to do! :dance3: I have been trying to get a deep cleaning of the house done before we leave on vacation because while we are gone, we are getting new floors put in and the walls painted. I hate cleaning!! I have done some of two bedrooms, the loft and the hallway. I say some because its never enough with two preschoolers running around. I think the TV room is going to be locked for the summer after we watch Grey's Anatomy tomorrow. I am also preparing for a Garage Sale the second weekend in June. I have tons of crap to get rid of. It will go a lot smoother once our poor dog goes (we can't care for him anymore. He needs a much bigger yard and more attention than I can give right now. :sad1: ). Which is why I haven't been able to be around much. I am also trying to get all the packing done. *sigh* Too much for little ole me!

As for next Disney trip. We are shooting for a Jan. 09 trip for Danae's fifth birthday. :cheer2:

Today I went to buy Alec his birthday presents. His birthday is June 12 but it was a good day to go out and get what he wanted which is a Lightning Storm McQueen car. It's the strangest thing. It's Lightning McQueen from the movie Cars but he's blue and he has wings that drop bombs. Lovely, eh? But that's what he wanted. Then I added a bunch of "matchbox" Cars cars to complete the set. So, he's all done!

I'm not feeling too well so I'm going to call it a night. My stomach has been nauseous since yesterday. At least I am positive that I am not pregnant! :lmao:

So, goodnight my DIS friends!

Sorry you don't feel well... hope it passes. Tucker's birthday is May 22 - 6 more days. We are having his party Sun night at Chuck E Cheese... happy, happy, joy, joy! He has asked for all Star Wars toys. I found him a Lego ship, Millenium Falcon Transformer, and a couple of action figures (Yoda and Gen. Greivious.) He will be so excited.

Courtney... I made your chicken last night for dinner. We all loved it! I changed the recipe a bit... used regular cream cheese instead of the chives (Wynn can't read the grocery list!), Cream of Chicken instead of mushroom because of an allergy, and added extra water and the pasta in the crock pot for the last 30 minutes (due to laziness!) Anyway... YUMMO!

DM, sorry you're not feeling well. Alex and my dh have the same b-day. I know the storm car from the movie. It's in McQueen's fantasy sequence where he dreams about doing the sponsorship stuff for "The Kings" company. Michael wants the Little Einsteins remote control rocket for his bday on the 25th of June. I'm hoping my MIL will get it for him. She said she was going to look for it. He'll love it!

I have cleaned under the beds in the Master bedroom! How do toys that big get under there?! Now I have to clean the rest of the room but that was the hardest part.

My problem is my master closet. Since we have no storage, everything ends up there. Unfortuneately... it is piled in the floor at this point. :sad2: I may try to tackle it this week. I have a new baby starting next week, so it has to be this week... or not for quite a while.

Hi u all i havent talk to you all for a while i need to spend to spend more time on this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've only been on one cruise in my life, and it was a horrible experience so I'll never do another! It was when I was about 10 years old. We hit some seriously rough water one night and I (and most of the other people on the ship) got horribly sick. We were stumbling through the ship and there were people throwing up everywhere. The entire ship reeked of vomit. My parents took me to the ship doctor and he gave me a shot of something that knocked me out for the night. It was awful.

Of course that's not the norm, but it scared me away from cruises for life!

Dang ya'll have been talking a lot today!
Renee I don't think anypne ever answered your question about Off Kilter. They are a really cool, high energy Celtic Rock type band that of course wear Kilts. They do a very eclectic type music that almost everyone who sees them really loves. And to add to the fun, Jamie, the lead singer, is a real cut up between songs. You really should try to come and join us.
