Was on allearsnet last night Spaceship Earth will be closed for June 22-23 for those of you that might be going to Epcot those two days. Checked to make sure that it was right on the Disney site and it was correct.

Didn't give out gifts to the teachers this year, both kids have more than one teacher this year. Did give them ones at Christmas time though.

I've only been on one cruise in my life, and it was a horrible experience so I'll never do another! It was when I was about 10 years old. We hit some seriously rough water one night and I (and most of the other people on the ship) got horribly sick. We were stumbling through the ship and there were people throwing up everywhere. The entire ship reeked of vomit. My parents took me to the ship doctor and he gave me a shot of something that knocked me out for the night. It was awful.

Of course that's not the norm, but it scared me away from cruises for life!

Wow,what a horrible experience you had. It really wasnt the norm for a cruise to be like that.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to order me some Disney Princess checks and they came in the mail today...they are soo pretty!!! I can't wait to use them.

What will you all be giving your kids' teachers this year for end of the year gifts? Last year I made ribbon covered flip flops with a monogrammed button at the toe for both DD's teachers but I have waited too late to start something like that this year. Besides we're not as crazy about youngest DD's teachers this year as we were last year. I may monogram them all tote bags since Hobby Lobby has them 1/2 off this week and I could do them this weekend. Oldest gets out of school next Thursday and youngest's last day in her current class is next Friday...I had better decide soon!!!

I dont normally give the teachers anything at the end of the year. I figure since I ALWAYS give them a Christmas gift, and sometimes a teacher appreciation gift, an end of the yr gift is not needed... But, maybe thats the cheapo in me

This may sound like a dumb question... but are we all going to exchange cell phone numbers before we leave? I know we are all leaving at different times.
I can not commit to any meet ups until I know how many days we have left on our tickets. BUT... I am hoping to do the Epcot one on the 23rd, if we have remaining days. I really would love to meet up with my fellow June disers. I just hate that I cant make formal plans like the rest of you

I will have to get some of those checks. They sound pretty. Since we are moving, I will need new ones with our new address, so that is a good excuse to them. I also found these really cute Disney keys at Walmart. I saw some at Home Depot too. So as soon as we close on the house, I am going to get my older kids each a Disney key made as a way to tell them we got the house. I haven't told them we got it yet in case something happened.

I wasn't planning on getting my kid's teacher's anything, but I might. My older son's teacher was terrible this year, so don't think I would get her anything anyway. I haven't decided yet. My younger son's teacher was really good though. I guess if I get one something I would have to get them both something.

I sure wouldn't buy for the teacher you didn't like. The year will be over, and you won't be dealing with her anymore. I would just buy for the one you did like. Chances are the teachers will get plenty of gifts, and the bad teacher will never know the good teacher got a gift from you, anyway.

I have to go check out the Disney keys. I need to have 3 house keys made, and I would love to have the castle on my "key to the castle!" Or are they just characters?

And your votes, along with my many votes, put Blake in the top 2! Melinda was so good but I think she had an "older" way about her and maybe the majority wanted young and refreshing?

I just called and saved $121.74 on my 2 night room only reservation. I had to switch from Yacht Club to Beach Club but that didn't matter 'cause we're only staying there for SAB! Woo hoo! More spending $ in my pocket!

I really like Alec's kindergarten teacher. In fact, I requested her after Evan had her last year. We will probably give her a gift certificate to a day spa. I think all women like to be pampered! I'm not sure what to give Evan's 1st grade teacher. She has been good working with him but I don't feel that closeness with her as with Alec's teacher. So, I will probably buy a nomimal gift certificate somewhere.

I got a gift basket with sexy body products... including massage oil! It was a warming lubricant type of oil. I think the mom must have thought she was buying a soap/lotion basket, and didn't bother to read the bottles. At least... that's what I hope!

Or maybe that person was checking out your DH's band website and thought you'd be into those kinky things?

Not a dumb question. Some of us who are meeting up have already exchanged numbers. I will exchange my cell # with anyone who will be meeting up with me. Anyone can just PM me with their cell #! I think it is a good idea just to keep "in check" just in case someone is running late or can't make it.

I loved your clover picture. Anytime I see a patch of clover I always look for 4 leafs and a lot of the time I find one. Have you ever found any 5 leaf ones? Over the years I have found 3 of the 5 leaf ones. DH thinks I'm crazy but then again he complains about never finding any himself...I tell him you have to look to find them.

TNMom - I got my princess checks on line at Wal-Mart Financial. They have a really good selection of Disney ones and they are very reasonable. Recently had to buy some from my bank because of the acct number changing due to a merger and 1 box of plain ones was $20...I got 2 boxes of cute checks from WM for $22. I need to check out those keys too...they sound cute!!

Thanks for that advice. You are right. I don't need to buy the bad teacher anything. And you are right, they will get lots of gifts.

I didn't see a castle key. I did see Mickey, Minnie, Nemo, Princesses, Tink, Pooh and Tiger. When I googled Disney Keys, this one place came up that had a whole lot of them. Someone had started a thread on Disney Keys a few weeks ago on the main board that's where I heard about them. Someone else said they got theirs at Lowes.

As an elementary school librarian, I have received my share of neat and not so neat gifts. I would LOVE to receive ribbon covered flip flops or a monogramed bag!

I received by far the ODDEST gift ever given to a teacher this past Christmas.. a set of six SHOT GLASSES. Yes, you read that correctly: SHOT GLASSES. Never in a million years, knowing me, would you put "Renee and shot glasses" in the same sentence.. (champagne flutes, maybe, but NEVER shot glasses ) My two friends at school had QUITE a good laugh! I don't think many teachers can top THAT one..
