Oh and tickets, think we will be buying Premium Annual Passes this year and will be coming back the first 2 weeks in June 2008 possibly the last week in May also... you gotta love those DVC points!

I have a question for you all....................

Are you going back in June 2008? or when is your next trip to Disney World?

Oh I just realized that you will be at Epcot on Monday the 25th...maybe you could get there a little before your ressie and meet us at the Off-Kilter show at 5:30...I would love to meet you, Bob & Dana!! I think you are singing for Courtney and others when you meet them...maybe you could sing for me too...

What is "Off-Kilter"? lol I've seen some of you mention it but I don't know what that is! :goodvibes I'll have to see if we can get to Epcot early enough - if the weather is good we will be spending the day at Typhoon Lagoon and coming to Epcot for dinner... so I can't promise.. but I'll try!!
As for singing... I need to hear some requests so I can get ready! :rolleyes1

Lucky you to be opening your pool tomorrow. Is your pool heated???

Even double lucky that you have a pool boy:banana: :rotfl:

Oh yes, the pool is heated! To get your money's worth living in NJ, you need a heater. The pool is in direct sun, so we really only need to use it in the start and end of the season - and on those evenings that there is a chill in the air. Of course, I like the water WARM!
The "pool boy" was the best thing in the world! Worth the cost. He comes once a week and cleans the automatic vacuumn, hand vacumns the pool, hand cleans the tile, checks the filter and the heater, and adds any chemicals needed. They open and close the pool, too. Bob does NOTHING. (and that's probably a GOOD thing)....:lmao:

I was wondering if anybody else had any leftover passes. We have left over park hoppers with at least 2 days on them, there may be three, which I am hoping for. We cant know exactly until we get down there . Last time went to the Disney Marketplace, or is it called Downtown Disney? I can neer remember:confused3 . There is a place there they can tell you. That is what we will do when we first get to Orlando is head there to check it out.

There is a desk right in the lobby of the Dolphin, so I'm hoping they will be able to help us. I'm confused just thinking about it! :confused3

No we wont be coming back to Disney in 2008 at all :(
BUT... we have a 10 day cruise booked for Aug 2008(not Disney though)Royal Carribean:banana:

Ticket topic....

What kind do you have? Are they just the base tickets, no hopping? Or do you all have park hoppers?

I know this is a bad word...but anybody else going to the "Other" (non disney)park while down there?

I just have the base tickets. No hopping for us. We got park hoppers two years ago, and I didn't like hopping. But the twins were really little and it was a lot of work with my big double stroller, and diaper bags, and my other two boys. It was so much trouble. So I would just rather stay at one park. But... I kind of wish I got park hoppers this year. I really wanted to go to Epcot at least half a day.

I have an AP & the rest of the family will too when we get down there. They each have a 1 day ticket that I'm going to upgrade. It's worth it since we are going back 4/08.

Just an FYI if you change your mind you can add PH when you arrive.

I have a 7 day parkhopper- I always hop. I don't even like planning what park I am going to want to go to on which day, I usually just decide either the night before, or that morning.

I have left over "options" from the old tickets that used to have like 7 options and never expired from late 90's early 2000's

We are undecided about going to Universal. Originally, we were going to go on the Wed. but that's when I thought Fantasmic was playing 2x's on Thursday. I can't swtich the days because we have breakfast at CRT on Thursday, and I can't get another ADR, so now we are looking into going to one of the waterparks, but I'm thinking it might be too crowed:confused3

My mom was talking about going again in December of '08 and taking us with her, so that will probably be our next trip (except we have been talking about taking Scilla's two little cousins 10 & 5 with us for a trip):santa:

We have always enjoyed the hopping. I guess because we have been there so many times, its not a big rush to do everything. We normally go to one park in the morning, and stay until around 2ish. We go back to the hotel for a nap for the youngest one, and a swim for the other ones. After we have dinner, we head back to another park. We usually let the kids each have one night where they pick what park they want too. It seems like we always go to Epcot at night, I am not sure why:confused3

I would consider upgrading to 10 day no exp & use the extra days in 12/08 & go to Universal on the next trip.

I was thinking of doing that for the trip with her little cousins, but if we do take them, we would want to do the DDP. However, my mom doesn't like the DDP, she says it's too much food, so I guess that could work, although I'm not sure if she would want to go to Universal, or how many days she plans on going to WDW. I guess I'll have to talk to her and find out

Wow!! You're brave for trying skating especially so close to our trips!! Good luck if you try again tomorrow!

Thanks! :goodvibes With my luck, I'll fall and break my arm or leg right before we leave!

Good for you for even trying. I have never been on skates. Well ice skates when I was a child thats it. Im a big chicken, I am also so NOT coordinated.
I am sure you will be sore today, but I know if you keep doing it, you will only improve :)

Thanks! I am a huge chicken, and I'm not sure I have the guts to really let myself go so I can learn, but we'll see - I'm trying to stay positive!

We have always gotten hoppers. I like to know I have the option to go to another park if one is too crowded or we just feel like leaving.

We really wanted to go to Universal this trip, too. We really enjoy it there! It's a much more relaxing vacation since we always stay onsite, so there's no need to rush because of that wonderful front of the line access. We thought about just going for a day or two of our trip, but we really don't want to do it without the FOTL access! We are too spoiled now. Next trip we are definitely including Universal!

just noticed i'm a mouseketeer.

:cool1:

We are going to Universal for 2 nights after our first 4 nights at Saratoga Springs, we are not checking out so we dont have to take all our luggage over just a couple of over night bags.

We are mainly doing it to get the UNLIMITED front of the line access we get included at Hard Rock Hotel. We bought the front of the line passes last year and they cost around the same price as the tickets and you could only use them once on each of the listed attractions.

I do feel a little guilty about having my room at SSR but we are using our DVC points so dont really feel like we are wasting money and think it will be a whole lot less stressful than checking out and back in again!

FOTL is the only way to go! I'm so jealous!

I have a trip booked at the end of August for free dining, but I'm still not sure if I should go or cancel. We've been going to Disney every 3-4 months for the past couple years and DH is REALLY sick of it and wants to go somewhere else for a change. :sad2: But I know I won't be able to stay away for long. So if I don't go in August, it'll definitely be soon after. I'm an addict, what can I say! :rotfl:

For our next Disney trip, I want to do a Disney Cruise, but the one where you get to go to WDW for so many days and then are on the cruise part for so many days. I know nothing about cruises, so I will have to start my research as soon as we get back. And if we do that I will have to start saving as soon as we come back. The other thing I really want to do is go to Disneyland. I took my older boys when they were around 1 and 3. We only went one day. So none of us remember anything about it. After watching the show on the Travel Channel on Disneyland, we are all wanting to try it and go for our whole vacation. Of course I would have to start working on that too, since I know nothing about Disneyland.

We have never been to Universal. We thought about it this year, but I didn't know if there was enough for kids to do. My oldest won't ride on roller coasters and the little ones can't, so I didn't think it would be worth it this year.

WHEW!! That was a lot to catch up on!

The entire house is that one color, which is good b/c it's neutral and nice. But I think I do want to paint at least the living/kitchen area and maybe the master bedroom... We'll see. I'm not sure. I def. want a neutral color but something really fresh.

My den is painted with Laura Ashley Garden Hedge from Lowes. It is sage-ish, and very warm. We also did the chair rail down in the entry, hall, and playroom. I wanted the color to flow, so the downstairs didn't feel broken up. When we add on to the house this fall (fingers crossed!) I will have to redo part of the kitchen, as I lose the window from behind the sink. I hope I can squeeze enough out of the budget to replace my countertops, and then I will decorate the kitchen and pull the green in there as well. Our furniture is all brown, and the wood is honey colored, so I wanted a color to brighten everything up.

Congratulations. Still waiting for mine...

My vouchers and documents have not arrived from AAA yet, and we leave on the 16th. :scared1: I went online to balance my checkbook yesterday, and found that my last payment STILL hasn't been withdrawn, even though I paid it on April 28th. Called my agent stressing out... she said they show it as paid, and she has mailed me my $0 balance receipt and vouchers. Guess its the accounting dept that hasn't caught their mistake yet.

Question for you all- I have never been to either waterpark- any Pro's and Con's you can share?

Haven't tried either... my kids are big, fat chickens! Wynn wants to go, but I said no because we can use the kiddie pool at the hotel for free! They both have the same basic rides (wave pool, lazy river, regular waterslides) so you need to decide which "specialty slide" appeals more. I personally would enjoy the water coaster, and have NO interest whatsoever in Summit Plummit. Just watching that on the planning DVD makes me want to hurl!

I wonder how long it takes to get to MK from Chef Mickey's?

We walked it last year, and it was about 10-15 minutes *I think.* I would consider taking the boat or monorail, as the kids look at that as another ride. We are taking the ferry after our Luau at Poly, and it should be timed about right to catch the electric parade.

took a picture of some four leaf clovers. can anyone find them, there are two.
Find the clovers all the time, decided that i would photograph them instead of picking them.
IMG_0499.jpg

I found them! What was really cool was all the hidden Mickey's in the pic, though! :rotfl:

Are you going back in June 2008? or when is your next trip to Disney World?

We are not planning to be back for a few years at least. We are talking about a Disney cruise (maybe land and sea... ). The other choice we are considering is renting a beach house for a few days, then going to Cape Canaveral, Busch Gardens Tampa, and Sea World. I'm very undecided about which I want to do. I also can't make any plans until my kids school schedules are decided for next year... so I try not to think about it too much!

Nope - no tv tonight - just got home from church. Tonight was the first of the official "graduation activities"... The May Crowning Liturgy. I organize the whole thing as a member of the Liturgy Committee for the parish, but the school has a major role in it. I sing at the mass, also. Hard to believe, after all these years, it was "Dana's turn" to participate. It was really lovely. My parents even came and brought my niece.

I am really exhausted - it's draining making sure all the little ones who just received their First Communion this month line up and process the right way - then the 8th graders in their graduation gowns, then the ladies in the Rosary Society - oy - they are harder to organize than all the kids put together! :goodvibes
Lots of singing tonight - my voice is tired!:rolleyes1

Pool guys are coming tomorrow to open our pool for the season! (yes, don't laugh, I have a "pool boy"..... )

I was just wondering... you may have already said something about this but.. Have you and Dana ever sang together in church? What did she have to do as part of the graduation? She is so lucky to have such an involved and talented mom!!!

for the land/sea vacation- the category you stay in on the cruise determins the hotel you stay at. so you can't stay in one of the lower room catagories on the cruise and stay at a moderate for example. I noticed you're staying a sweet this time, I'm not sure if they have those avaiable as part of the package. Also I didn't do the math, so I'm not sure if they offer any kind of discount as opposed to booking separatly. I know they do not offer an AAA discount on the cruise. Not sure if they have AAA packages for land/sea

I didn't realize you could do that. I will have to see how much it would be to add the PH.

Its the same price... no matter if you add it on your first day or last day. We really only wanted it for our first day. We are taking the kids to MGM for Star Wars Weekend on Sunday. I told Wynn that it would be crowded, so we wouldn't get to do as much, and it wasn't EMH, so it would close at 10. Our scheduled MGM day was Wed, and I didn't want to give that one up. Also, we had planned on EMH at MK that night, and if we didn't hop, the kids wouldn't get to MK before day 6. :scared1: We decided it was worth it to us to go ahead and upgrade. Now we can do MK on our last day, then hop over to Epcot for the DISmeet at Norway! :woohoo:

Uh... not quite right. Category 1-7 is deluxe resort, and 8-12 are mods according to the brochure. Also, my AAA agent quoted me a price on the 7-night western that was $700 lower than through Disney, and the 3 land/4 sea that was about $500 lower. I was getting quotes for next summer, so I don't know if that makes a difference. :confused3 Maybe the specific cruise you wanted had sold out of the AAA packages?

Geesh.... step out to get Dana to school, run to mass, stop at Kohls to pick up favors for the 8th grade dinner dance, and I have all of these posts to catch up with! :lmao:

Tickets: We always get "park hoppers" and "non-expiration'... park hoppers because we love the option of going to two different places in the same day - and non-expiration "just in case" we miss a day at the park for weather or illness or EXHAUSTION. lol Our first day of our first trip with Dana - we were at the gate of MGM late afternoon when the weather looke ominous... the ticket taker said to us, "Um.. this doesn't look like "Florida quickie shower", this looks like TAKE COVER NOW! I'd suggest not wasting your admission." So... we went to the Grand Floridian instead and had the neatest impromptu dinner at 1900 Park Fare, with tons of characters - Mickey actually fed Dana her dinner. lol That's why we still have a day left on two of those tickets!

Other Parks: No desire at this time to see Universal. Went to Sea World last year because Dana BEGGED us to make the time. She enjoyed it, but to me, it was all the horrible memories I had when I was there 30 years ago! UNBEARABLE HOT! :cool2: Luckily she said to us, "this trip - only Disney!"

TnMom: Yes, Dana and I have sung at church together. This year at the Children Choir masses, she sang the "Alleluia" (Gospel acclamation & verse) with me as a duet. Last night's May Crowning, her class were the "honor guard" and one classmate was picked to crown the statue in honor of Mary. My next job is to start planning the Graduation liturgy... Dana may get to read a reading at mass - usually we ask for volunteers or if everyone wants to do something, we pull names out of a hat. I am going to try to convince the class to sing a musical selection at the ceremony that evening. (this is part of my job at the school - organizing these things - it's just funny when your child is involved, too! )

Kari: Sage green... my favorite! You should come and help me redecorate! I have MAJOR plans for redecorating the house starting this summer. Going room by room, now that it looks like I will officially 'retire' after this school year. Sort of doesn't make sense to stop working to spend more money, does it?!

Cruise: we went on the week long Disney Magic Eastern Carib... LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT! Because of that, I can't imagine taking a shorter one. lol I would have to create my own "land & sea"... and spend two weeks!

There are two sides Universal, the original side and the Island of Adventures. The 2nd side is the roller coaster side. I do not like IOA...to me its like a big carnival, but my 12 yr old son loves. I do love the original side of Universal. We go every yr, and have taken the kids as early as two. There is a Live Barney show, for the kids who love Barney. There is also a water playland , and of course the Shrek ride. My 2 1/2 yr old LOVES shrek and Barney. So Universal is a must for us. Plus, she is still free to get in.. gotta take advantage of that free stuff;)

Opps, your right. I only know that I couldn't book a lower cabin and stay at the GF, so I didn't look too much into it.

And if they really do offer an AAA discount I will be furious at Small world vacations for telling me Disney did not offer AAA discounts on cruises. I did book my cruise in May of 2006, so I would hope they hadn't sold out of AAA rates that early :lmao:

Oh, the Barney show... :scared: I had forgotten about that. The horror... {shudder}

Seriously, kids love it though. There is quite a bit to do with littler ones at Universal Studios!
