I'm at home sick today...so I'll be around for most of the day...unless I'm sleeping.

Okay, here's a question. Are most of you planning mid day breaks back at your resort?? I've only been in June once and that was in 1991. I usually go in Sept or Jan/Feb. I would like some advice as I'm trying to finish up itineraries for the 3 other families that I'm going with. I know it's really, really hot and my thinking is to rest during the hottest part of the day and then go back to the parks later in the afternoon.......

We always do a break.

it is sad around here on campus. I've seen people who are wearing some of the colors. It's a sad day it truly is.

Where in the heck are yall today???? Comeon now! This is my only time to type until the end of the day!

I know-- it's a trick--- Yall are all planning on getting on this afternoon when I can't respond... And I'll have 50 pages to catch up on tonight... Ahha! I've busted you!

See what happens when you have no one to talk to... You just start talking to yourself... At least DM understands!
Woohoo...look at all the people on now that Courtney is FINALLY gone! I kept waiting for her to leave so we could have some real fun!!!

What? I'm just talking to myself again? You have to stop that DM. I know DM, but you are just the best company around. Thank you DM.

Sorry you're sick. Hope you do feel better real soon!

We are a family of 5 with 3 kids ages 7 and under. We are definitely planning on taking midday breaks this time so we can go later at night. This will be the first time that we all go in June also so it will be kind of an experiment for us. While we loved going in October and November, the parks closed early and we were "forced" to stay the whole time. The kids were a bit cranky later on in the day and Brooke was just plain pooped out!

WHEW!! Thought Courtney would never leave!

Last year we had planned to take midday breaks. Our first day we got to the park about 11, and had to leave at 5 for the Hoop Dee Doo. My kids wanted to go back after, and we ended up staying through EMH at 2 AM. Well... we all slept late, and didn't get in the parks until lunchtime the next day, and our pattern was set. It worked out very well for us, so we are planning to do that again this year.

This sounds like a good idea for our last night at the MK. It's also EMH and it would be great to get it all in one last time... Who cares if we are tired the next day? We're only going home. :sad1:

We stay in MK until the very last minute on our last day. We stand in the parking lot and put PJs on the kids, then drive as long as we can stand it towards home. The kids will be asleep before we get off of Disney property!

We do the same thing as Kari. We don't take breaks. I tried one year and by the time we got back to the resort and I got them calmed down and asleep, it was time to wake them up. Then they were really cranky and everyone was not in a good mood. It just wasn't worth it. I only did that one day and knew that wasn't going to work. I plan our schedule around EMH, and we stay late at whatever park that is. We sleep in and get to the parks the next day around lunchtime. It works for us because my kids are night owls. I can't imagine trying to get them up early to go when the park opens, but all kids are different. Mine just do better this way. Some kids wake up at 6:00 in the morning ready to go.

My kids always use the gift cards... it is kind of a family tradition now that for birthdays and Christmas our extended family gives them Disney gift cards... they are teenagers and no one ever knows what to buy... its the perfect gift... it also stops them from running to me everytime they want something.... they know how much they have to spend and they keep to it...they are easy to use in the parks.. both at stores and at the snack carts...DS loves ice cream... uses his for that a lot.....

Thanks for the info. I will have to get them each a gift card to use instead of cash. It will be so nice to not have to worry about four ziploc bags of cash and change to carry around. :)

Is she gone? Is it safe to come out?:)

We've gone in August so the heat couldn't be any worse than then. We always leave the park after lunch & return after dinner but this time there is only a couple of nights that we're going out. I promised DH we would relax more.:rolleyes1

I wrote each of my kids names on their cards, since they look the same. Tucker has about 32 cents more than Avery at this point, and Heaven help us if Avery had his card by mistake!!:lmao:

[We always do a break too. My youngest one needs a nap. She doesnt nap in her stroller anymore, or hasnt since was a wee baby ;) . Normally my husband stays in the room while she naps, and I take the older kids to the pool. Usually we do a quick dinner off site and head back to the parks.

I just went over our schedule and noticed that almost every day but 2 are EMH PM nights. So, if our naptime doesn't work out, then sleeping in could definitely work. I'll have to start rethinking some things and see how it goes. Our MGM and Epcot days (Wed & Fri) are days we probably won't be able to take breaks because we have ADRs set for lunch and dinner. That would really make it difficult to leave and come back and still get everything we want in...

Oh decisions, decisions....:rotfl:

I didn't think about that. I will have to remember to write their names on the cards right when I had over the money to get the cards. My older boys are the same way. They know down to the penny how much money they have.

DS was thrilled to find out he had another day off today. We received a message that the septic system isn't working. EEEWWWWW!

I checked out the website that Crazy Kanga gave to us with park entertainment schedules.

At Epcot there is a "Sounds Like Summer" concert series.

June 18-24...Stayin' Alive (Bee Gees)
June 25-July 1..."Slippery When Wet" (Bon Jovi)

There are others but those are the ones I jotted down when my family is there. Could be pretty cool to watch.
