Did we go to the same show? I remember I went to the same show as one of you (but we never saw each other)- I waited about 45 minutes (it was between that and RnR

Has anyone been to hoop de doo? is it inside? since we are thinking of WL, it might be worth it one night, but only if it's inside- too hot in august

I don't think I could plan a trip like that, it would CRUSH them if they thought we were going without them (although I think the older one would figure it out that we were taking them)

Hoop de do is a lot of fun - Dana got to "play the washboard" when she was 3 - It's inside and the food is pretty decent. The entertainment is fun and extremely corny. It adds to the charm. My only complaint is how hard it is to get there - we were dumb and used the bus and we were staying at Port Orleans. It took FOREVER. There's a way to go by water launch, via Poly, if I remember back from my 1976 trip!!! Whoa, dating myself here!

They did away with that waterlaunch. If you stay at the poly, you go to MK via boat, get on the boat to FW/WL and that's how you get to Hoop De Doo. Contemporary has a direct one. So does WL

Yes, I had forgotten, but we were at the same show. We were to the far left near the middle. It was SO hot and humid that night, but we had enough room to spread out and put our feet up on the bench in front of us. We didn't stand in line before the show... just walked up and got in the end of the line... all the way back at the Crossroads at the entrance!

We did HDD in 2006, and it was WONDERFUL! Yes, its inside. Yes, beer is included. Food was very good if you like southern food... fried chicken, ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans, cornbread, strawberry shortcake. Both kids LOVED the show, and they were 3 & 8 at the time.

Avery had the most fun at Park Fare. They have Cindy's Royal Gala now. We took Avery to Bibbity Bobbity Boutique to get her hair, make-up, and nails done, then she wore her Cindy dress to dinner. Prince Charming asked her to dance! So cute!

As for CP, you're neices will probably like it, even though it is Pooh. Tucker really enjoyed the character meals (even the girly ones!) and there were always tons of kids his age around.

I like that beer is included, and ribs are by far my favorite meal........

Yes it did, I remember the bus days of having to walk to TTC to catch the bus and then waiting for the right bus. There were two.

Depends on the little girl. Though Brookie is younger, the Princesses scared her. On the other hand, all the other characters she ran into all their arms!

You are right - definitetly depends on the little girl! When Dana was 3, she ADORED the princesses.... Snow White cried when she met her, because Dana just kept hugging and hugging! And yet, to this day, she hates Goofy! Go figure! (Captain John Smith gave her the creeps too!)

Just off the phone with Disney Dining. Made reservations for Fantasmic Dinner Package, Liberty Tree Tavern, Chefs de France (my favorite), Rose & Crown (one of Dana's favorites), and 50's Prime Time. Will think about Raglan Road or the Swan's Italian restaurant possibly. Summer can't come quick enough!

Rags... don't know if you have mentioned, but how old are the girls? I know you said they have different tastes, so you may want to consider planning 1 meal around each girl. Unless you do CRT, the character meals are all 1 table service credit (free dining) or about $20/adult and $12/child. Don't quote me on those prices... just a guess from a stray memory! If the older one isn't into princesses, she may enjoy Sci-Fi for lunch for "her meal." If the younger one loves the princesses, I would hate to not do that for her on her first trip to WDW.

Rags - which meal at Akershus are you planning on? We had lunch there and it was awful!! The princesses were great but the food was not good at all. Breakfast is "regular" food so if we go back that's what we'll do.

Tony's is one of DH's favorite restaurants. I was nervous about going there again last June because of all of the bad reviews but it was one of a handful of places that he really wanted to go so we went. We thought it was good...now we're not Italian and don't eat REAL Italian food very often so that probably has something to do with why we liked it

Chef Mickey's is also one of our favorites...DH prefers breakfast to dinner but I like them both.

That's the problem with us and "Italian" food! I'm 100% Italian and cook it often. In the NY/NJ area, we have our choices of wonderful real Italian restaurants, (not those pretend ones like Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill. )
