I LOVE Daniel's curls!!!

And I think the buggy is wonderful. But, don't you just LOVE that these projects become a "family affair"?! Dana had a two page SINGLE SPACED (how dumb is that?) autobiography for Theology class. I had to coach her with some additions to get it to two full pages! ;)

Renee - I LOVE the pasta bowl!! Dana looks so cute on her first day of school...Oh I guess cute is not the word to use for a High Schooler...she looks very pretty!!

Wendy - The buggy is great...I could never do that...that would have to be an Amanda & Paul project at our house! The picture of Maggie & Daniel is so good...he is tall!!

It is hard to believe that Daniel is over 3 years YOUNGER than Maggie...... I love the curls too.:thumbsup2 ... and from what Maggie says so do all those girls at the high school:scared1: ............ they better stay away from my baby:lmao:

Yes family projects.... they happen a lot here.... while Maggie and I were working on the buggy Daniel and Tim were outside looking for slugs for Daniels bio class........yuk!!!!

I feel like I'm going to high school all over again. (side note: I didn't like it the FIRST time! :rotfl2: )

Bus was late AGAIN this morning - but I had a disturbing conversation with the bus driver: "I'm stressed!!! They just threw this at me on Friday!" and the bus company was no better. I'm waiting for a return call from school. We pay for this busing, that's what is even more annoying. :headache:

I know it's only been a week and they need to "iron out the wrinkles", but there is enough stress about being a freshmen; being late to school every day when it's beyond your control shouldn't be adding to that stress.
grrr..

Hi long lost DIS friends!!!!

I'm SO sorry I haven't been chatting with yall in a long time!!!!!

How have yall been?????

Happy to say that we WON'T be going on a massive vacation next spring/summer!!!

Happy you ask???

Yes, look at my siggie!

CONGRATS Courtney!!! :dance3:

Wendy ... Cute pics of Maggie & Daniel. I think he looks young. But don't tell Maggie that!

Renée ... Love the macaroni bowl. I just brought back memories of Rob's grandma. She gave us one as an engagement gift. Sadly, she passed away the year Alec was born. But her memory definitely lives on, especially every time I make her sauce!

Dana looks so nice on her first day of school. She looks very tall in that picture and probably looks like a giant to you...;)

...and she has FLATS on... LOL

I LOVE macaroni bowls - my mom gave me one and my sister gave me one with matching individual bowls. The one I made can hold at least 2 pounds - an Italian family can never have too many macaroni bowls.....:goodvibes

If you get a chance maybe do a Ghost Tour... that is a lot of fun!!!

I wish we could... that is right up my alley. Unfortuneately, Tucker and Avery would NOT enjoy it!

Just my vindictive nature... but I would book mediocre retaurants, room near the ice machine and/or elevator, etc. Then act SHOCKED when they say something. Not friendly... but ALMOST makes up for the nut thing! :rolleyes1

Happy to say that we WON'T be going on a massive vacation next spring/summer!!!!

:jumping1: YEAH!! :jumping1:

Couldn't be happier for you!

Well... I have been very busy this weekend. I was on the go all day Sat and Sun. On Sun, Avery was feeling fine at church, but didn't really eat or drink anything. Then came home and went to sleep on the couch... UH OH! I left her with Wynn, and ran to the grocery. When I got home, she had spiked a fever of 103.5. I gave her Advil, but it wouldn't break the fever. By 6 she was puking, still fevered, and refusing to drink... not that she could have kept anything down anyway. We ended up in the ER for dehydration, but I was able to talk the Dr into oral meds for the vomiting, then letting her drink. She would have been scarred for life if they had done the IVs! We finally got home at 5AM. They found out that she has strep. So much for paying the deposit on that cruise...

Poor Avery! That is so frightening. That's how my brother used to be with strep. Glad to hear you were able to forgo the IV! :scared:
I hope she is feeling better today, poor angel.

Glad you posted... meant to tell you Dana looks adorable on her first day! Also, I think I would pass on the Cape May condo for now, personally. If you do that, you will tie up your vacation funds, and limit when you are able to go (working with others schedules.) I would stick with the large family vacations, and keep squeezing in shorter Cape May trips like you have been doing. I know I can get multiple short trips out of Wynn much easier than a big trip!

Wendy... meant to tell you I loved the buggy!

I hate playing catch-up... I forget everything I want to say by the time I get done reading!

Yes, we decided "no" on the Cape May condo. Too expensive to see that much of a benefit. Once they are built, maybe we'll rent one for a week! :cool2:

Spoke to the school today and they are in touch with the bus company and promise things will be straightened out as soon as they can be. The advancement director will call me again when she has more information, but at least I was able to voice my concerns.

I did email Dana's Biology teacher to tell him about the situation, so he doesn't give her a hard time about being late every day. It is odd to start fresh with so many teachers, after being in the same school for NINE years. Everyone at the old school knew Dana as a concientious, hardworking, outgoing girl - now you start new and no one really "knows" you.

Thinking of an Easter break Disney trip.... JetBlue hasn't released their flights yet to see if it is even worth it. :surfweb:

I wouldn't worry about what the teachers will think of Dana. By that age, teachers can sum up pretty quickly what a kid is like. I can't imagine they will have any trouble seeing Dana for who she really is.

I wish I was planning a new Disney trip. I was watching Disney on Travel Channel last night with Avery... and it made me sick to my stomach thinking how long it will be before we can go again. Planning other trips is fun, but just not the same!

Kari - poor Avery! She sounds like she reacts to strep like Amanda does. Hopefully she will be feeling better soon!!

Renee - I wish we were going to Disney in the spring...I hope you get to go!!

Kari ~ How is Avery doing now? How much school is she missing?

Renée ~ Flying at Easter time? Disney at Easter time? I would never go then! No way....unless I was rich, and I'm still waiting on that one.

Renee... we have done Easter at Disney before and have always had a great time..we ALWAYS follow TGM plans though... never really have had long waits ... the longest wait is for the bus!!!!! Really with proper planning it isn't to bad... I was able to get airfare for the 4 of us for a total of $902..... thats about $225 each... we are going in April .. but the rates were running high from beginning of March thru end of April.... I was lucky at checking just as Airtran had opened up some low fares.... :surfweb:

Congrats!!

After two very frustrating mornings, the bus came on time this morning, AND made the correct turn out of the street! :thumbsup2 Suffice it to say, the person aspiring to be a school bus driver around here.... well, at least Tower of Terror's elevator DID go to the first floor....:sad2:
Sounds like the woman was hopelessly lost yesterday, but when some of the older students tried to help, she really didn't understand because Dana thought she didn't speak English.

I hope she's figuring things out by now. HS can be so nerve-wracking, especially when you've been at one small school the rest of your life. *hugs* to you both and hope the school bus situation has been resolved. You may want to invest in a radio so you can hear what's going on. I hear it can be pretty funny (if you think lost children is funny, at least).

Sounds like school is totally back in full swing with everyone now. Evan & Alec had their first day today.

Happy Birthday Evan!!

Okay guys I need some help with this one.... I don't know what to do....

There is a family that we know very well. In fact their daughter and Maggie have been VERY good friends since 4th grade. We have taken her on short trips with us... like to NYC and Tornoto..... anyway they are planning a trip to WDW this winter and they want some advice from me..... well your saying whats the problem... the problem is over the last six months the relationship with Maggie and her "friend" (who we will call Miss X) has gotten very bad.... Maggie is a petite young lady and Miss X is not... when shopping for Prom dressess Miss X really got nasty because nothing fit her and everything looked great on Maggie... then Miss X tried out for Drum Major and was not selected.... because Maggie is head Drum Major she thought she could pull some strings... but it is the band director who picks.... so far sounds like teenage girl stuff... and I have to say her mom and I did a great job of staying out of it.... well then the girl on purpose (we know because another student told us they heard her) put nuts into something Maggie was eating... Maggie is HIGHLY allegeric to nuts and Miss X knows it.... well had to call her parents... they defended her... saying that she would never do this, etc.... but since then two different students have come forward and said they heard her... bottom line it seems like that there is a little jealousy... I have remained friendly to her parents and even agreed not to have her suspended from school (she did it in school and one of the kids that came to us went to the school administration so we had to meet with them).... anyway I think it takes a lot of nerve of these people to ask me to help them......am I being over sensitive? Miss X doesn't even talk to me and I feel like I saved her butt...she really is rude... but her parents remain friendly.... I don't want them to think I am a jerk.... :confused3 :confused3

I think that I would remain cautiously friendly. I'd help them because I would have defended my dd as well. Hard to imagine that your kid would do something like that. Then I'd probably talk to my kid about what is going on and why she would either do something like that or why kids would be saying it. I would assume that they would have said something to their dd unless they said they weren't going to talk to her about it. I know that the nut thing is scary but at this age, kids don't really see life and death situations. Ya know, the whole invinsible thing? Anyways, that's my $.02.

Kari - I received the pants today in the mail. Thank you so much. Of course, Evan is not home from school yet to try them on but I'll let you know.

For those of you who are NOT reading my TR...and I don't know why you aren't  ...I will post these here for you to see...

Brookie had her first dance class today. Here she is in the studio...
