But, I always like to have a little too much, so I know everyone got enough.
I come from the "Dom Deluise School of Feeding People" - "OMGoodness, do ya think I have enough??" :goodvibes Unless there are leftovers of EVERYTHING, there wasn't "enough", according to my mother. (It's an Italian thing - we just can't shake it.)
Ok...dont laugh....4 yrs ago, I got poked in the eye with a pointy party hat...no really dont laugh:rolleyes1 That crummy pointy party hat cost me much money in eye dr visits, and medicine. When I had gone into urgent care because my eye was so watery and blurred vision, I had to tell the receptionist what happened, and she looked at me like I was crazy, and told me "thats a first"....So from that day forward the rule is "NO PARTY HATS"
"It's all fun and games, until somebody loses an eye...." [/I] (another entry in the "Italian Mother's Book of Wisdom")....:rolleyes1

Seriously, that sounded dreadful!

Yep that was the big joke...I had a corneal abrasion. I think I spelled that wrong. Apparently it was pretty deep, I had no idea. I had gone to the urgent care as well as my own dr...It got better, then worse etc..then I was refered to a real MD Eye dr. They saidnext time, if you have an eye injury come right to the eye dr...weeks later it still hurt, I had scar tissue that formed(Who knew). The eye dr put drops in my eye to numb it and scraped off the scar tissue with a small scalpel:eek: ..lucky I couldnt feel a thing...
NO MORE PARTY HATS
It was funny Elizabeth was at a party with her hat on, she was sitting down. She didnt want to eat the pizza. I bent over to tell her to eat it(as that was lunch)and as I was bending down, her head came up. OUCH:sad2:

Since Courtney will be leaving us tomorrow morning, I must wish her a ....

NO MORE PARTY HATS

Two years ago I had a terrible pain above my eyebrow... in the middle of open house for Catholic Schools Week, which I was the chairperson for... lots and lots of stress... I thought it was a migraine... sang for the mass, ran the open house and tours... all the time, pressing my fingers above my eye.... the next day, my eye was swollen and red - I thought maybe I had broken a blood vessel from pressing on it. It was the worse pain I'd ever had. My eye doctor wasn't in, but the covering doctor said she could see me. I left school, and went to the appt - thinking I might have pink eye or something...

She took one look at me, and said, extremely calmly, "No, it's not pink eye... um, I'd like you to go over to the hospital for an emergency cat scan with contrast." I almost fell off the chair. I ended up having "pseudo tumor of the orbit"... an autoimmune problem, sometimes aggravated by stress. Not caught immediately - could cause total blindness in the eye. I was so lucky that this particular doctor was in - and that I didn't wait! She said she's had people come in "too late".

Of course, the treatment was terrible - VERY HIGH dosages of prednisone... but thank God, everything turned out ok.

So, yes.... go to the eye doctor as soon as you have eye trouble!!! :cool2:

Thanks so much gang!!!! I'm off to the beach in about two hours! Of course, gotta do some last minute DISing!

WOW Renee, what a scarey story. I have never heard of anything like that. I am glad you were ok. Eye stuff is very scarey.

kari-- Avery new do is adorable. It will grow back, and I think every kids has to grab a pair a sissors and cut theirsevles, their hair or someone elses hair at least once growing up. Both of mine have cut their own hair when they were little.

DM- Hope that you are enjoying yourself. I am. Have no kids and don't have to work til Monday. They left yesterday with Inlaws to go to Myrtle Beach, SC. The Inlaws took my two and one friend apeice. Have been getting things do around the house that I have been neglecting.

Welcome--Jessi and TE

Sunlvr-- Happy Birthday to the girls.

Yes take care of your eyes. I was cleaning out our(DH and Mine) closet back in 97 and was wearing my glasses hadn't put in my contacts that day. And was poked in the eye by a falling clothes hanger. Had to wear an eye patch for a week and put in eye drops. Oh and be careful around popping grease, MIL was wearing her contacts and some bacon grease popped out of the pan and burnt her contact and her eye. She hated that she couldn't wear her contacts for two weeks, was stuck wearing her glassess.

Didn't look like a "pool day" today, so Dana asked to go to the movies... we went to see "Hairspray".... Anyone see it yet? What did you think??
(I'll save my review until later... lol)

Renee

No I want to see it though. The theater is closing here for a few months and honestly I rather say my movie and see it on DVD.
