DM, have fun this weekend. I know its hard without the kids but you'll find lots of things to do! Hope Brookie is feeling better by now.

Welcome Jessi!

DM: Any news on Brooke tonight? Did she have a better afternoon and evening?

Welcome, Jessi!

Renée

Uh---------Hello???

Is this the same people I know or complete strangers???
Cause I was just meandering through the Community board in search of the tag fairy (as per Trentmom instructions) and lo and behold, I see familiar names! Again!

Is my invitation late???

(and your day looks great DM! :cloud9: )

Rob called me at 9:15 tonight and immediately said, "Do you want to meet me halfway?" I said, "You're kidding." He went on to say that there were a few trying times during the day that he almost called. But she seemed fine now. I told him to go through the night and some of the day tomorrow and if she still wants to come home that I will meet them halfway.

I got to talk to each of the kids to say our goodnights. Brookie said, "Hi Mommy. I wanna go home. I wanna go home." I told her to spend the night and come home tomorrow to which she said, "Ya." And every answer after that was the same reply. Alec was especially happy to talk to me but he had to remind me not to hang up because everyone needed to talk to me. He is always looking out for others. Evan pretty much said hi and goodnight. Not too much missing me. But he did want me to hear the TV. Why? I have no idea but I went along with it.

Rob also told me that Alec took a tumble and landed on his face. He scraped up his nose and forehead. I immediately told Rob that he can't handle the kids without me...:rolleyes1

Anywho, I feel fine tonight. We'll see how tomorrow goes.

Oh yeah, I went out to dinner and shopping with my mom tonight and I found a great outfit for my brother's wedding. It wasn't on sale but I bought it anyway. It was $60. I didn't think that was bad.

TE!!! You must join our little chat group here. You are considered an outsider right now but I'm sure you'll be a regular. Here...let me introduce you to everyone.

TE - this is everyone.

Everyone - this is TE.

Okay, carry on!

Hey! The chat is up and working again. I'm in room 2 for a bit. If no one comes soon then I'll be getting off...

Welcome Jessie and TE!

Hey DM look at it this way if Brookie comes home you can do girls things.

Good morning, all! Welcome outsider... I mean TE! I have stalked the community board a few times searching for the tag fairy myself... I don't think she really exists! All I found were a couple of really twisted individuals! Sorry I didn't say "Hi!" to you then! ;)

Thank you for the luke-warm welcome...;)
I don't usually post with strangers but you folks seem extra strange!

Enjoy your day DM! I spent all last week worrying about BA at camp to the point that I couldn't do anything fun for myself--then she came back and she had had a wonderful time........and now I regret getting a pedicure......and it's raining........and they're whining again..........

So grab whatever moments you can (and try to push the mommy worries asides--she's in good hands!)

How many pizza's? What a way to start off the morning. We are having a combined birthday party for Elizabeth(just turned 8)and Faith(party is Saturday). Faith wont be 3 until Aug 13th. But...Faith doesnt really have any friends(yet):confused3 , so we combined this year.
We have a pool party in the back yard with pizza. Now our pool is not as nice as Renee's;) (I honestly envy your beautiful pool Renee :))its an above ground pool pretty large. The kids enjoy it.So far I have a total of 20 people, kids and adults who stay.
I was thinking 6 pizza's, do you think more? I remember last yr we had almost 2 full pizza's left. The kids tend to only eat one piece, because they are busy doing other stuff...

I hope I am not talked about;) , but we have no real theme this year. I went to party city, they had this clearance section of 50 cent items..so I got the invitations(Princess ones) ,and then I picked up some Jo Jo Circus cups and goodie bags for 50 cents each..Well then on freecycle(you know that free site where people give away things). I picked up some Shrek party supplies. The girls picked out a Little Mermaid cake..So this party is all over the place:laughing:

LOL, if it weren't for that dang Shrek, it'd be a Disney party. Oh well. :) I love free or nearly free! I can't help you with the pizza's though. I can never figure that stuff out. My mom always does it for me. LOL

Welcome TE! :cheer2:

That's not "all over the place", it sounds like a "DISNEY PARTY" :tinker: to me!! ok, we'll just ignore the shrek part...

We had an above ground pool in our first house. Always enjoyed floating! When we bought this house, I knew the yard had a perfect spot for an inground. We waited for a few years, then "almost" signed the papers, and then Bob lost his job - the whole department was downsized! :scared: Thank God we hadn't signed the papers. :sad2: He was out of work for an entire year, but was given a generous severance package. When he finally found a new job and was doing well, we decided to use the severance money to have the pool installed. We always joke that our pool is "Compliments of Bob's Previous Employeer"! :cool2: He doesn't use it all that much, but Dana & I love it. :hippie:

I need to get to Party City too - Dana's birthday is Aug 19. We are thinking about a "Mexican Fiesta" theme, but that's only because I'm being lazy and may have it catered by Moe's or Chili's! ;)

Six pizzas sounds about right for that age group & mix. That's 48 slices of pizza - and if the kids are busy in the pool, they aren't that interested in FOOD. We, adults, however.... :lmao:

Oh, and welcome TE!

Renée

I think 6 pizzas sounds good, as long as you have out some munchies as well. Chips and dip, grapes, carrots, etc. I find more children will graze... especially at parties and such. You will probably have a pizza or so left over for dinner. But, I always like to have a little too much, so I know everyone got enough.

As for the decorations... you can give the littles the JoJo, and the olders the Shrek... it will look like you planned it that way!

Dont you just love Party City???I love it there.Elizabeth loves to pick out her Pinata there every year. They have the best clearance sales though. Gotta love a good sale.

I know kids get busy playing and they could care less about the food. Us adults, well we like our food, or so it seems:laughing:

I just went to the grocery store today and picked up some more stuff for the party. Elizabeth got to pick out 3 dift type chips. I will have 2 liters of soda as well. I am tired of buying cans and having them only half gone and throwing them away:sad2: We will have a cooler filled with juice boxes and bottled water, and the 2 liters out as well. We got the ice cream and the plates and all. Now I just need somebody to come over and clean my house. Although it is an outside party, people always tend to migrate inside the house:confused3 . I dont mind, its that I have to clean, thats what I mind:eek:
Faith actually LOVES Shrek. Although its not Disney, shes seen all 3 of the Shrek movies. Shes seen the first one probably 20 times. In the free Shrek party items I received, there are not party hats, but shrek ears(in place of party hats)its actually really cute.Faith has been requesting party hats and balloons. I told her NO PARTY HATS..

Ok...dont laugh....4 yrs ago, I got poked in the eye with a pointy party hat...no really dont laugh:rolleyes1 That crummy pointy party hat cost me much money in eye dr visits, and medicine. When I had gone into urgent care because my eye was so watery and blurred vision, I had to tell the receptionist what happened, and she looked at me like I was crazy, and told me "thats a first"....So from that day forward the rule is "NO PARTY HATS"

Welcome Jessie and TE!

I'm really doing fine. I am enjoying my time alone. We do girly things all the time when the boys are in school so no big deal...

Thank you for the luke-warm welcome...;)
