Dawn you sound like my sister in law but you do have an accent, not a strong strong one but you do have one.

I hate to be negative, because I know we will have a good time no matter what, but I am really starting to freak out about how crowded it will likely be. I started to realize it a few weeks back when I was trying to find a room for that first night of our trip and nothing was available at any resort. I had to call several times a day for a week to finally get a room at rack rate at WL. Othere than that all that had been available were suites that were out of our price range. Now last night a good friend of mine who is a DVC owner, said they were scheduled at the Swan for a business trip and decided to bring her mother in law and needed to add another room and couldn't get one at the Swan or Dolphin or any Disney resort or DVC except SSR(which by the way she really does not like, but was forced to take is they wanted to go.) So as I said I am a little freaked about the potential crowds, but I guess there is nothing I can do but hope for the best and have a good touring plan.

You have the best blue eyes!!! But, girlfriend, even I have to admit - you DO have an accent....
And I thought you were on my side! :sad2:

Here is a picture of my baby with his championship trophy!

Wow! That is a huge trophy! Congrats again!

I really didn't think I had an accent, except maybe to you southeners. It's nasally and flat sounding, right?

I am totally thinking the same thing but it's too late now and we will just have to live with it. Just try to enjoy what we have. I am totally going to try not to worry about what we miss.

It didn't sound like that to me but then again I'm use to that type of accent, everyone in my family was born in the north except me and I have family p there so I'm custom to it.

DM, you do not have an accent.

As for the crowds, it'll be crazy but just pick what things you "must do" and work for those. Don't think about the rest. Or get yourself a good tourguide.

Liz- Hope your husband is OK

I think that the people that buy the baby things are mostly either the grandparents shopping for their own home who don't want to buy new and people that just cannot affort brand new. I did have someone offer to buy our double stroller for $50 and we were so excited. She picked out a bunch of other things and asked me to hold them because they were going to the NYS Fair. I said sure and wouldn't you know that they never ever came back? I was totally p*ssed! No more saving unless they pay up front!

Sorry I am just reading this now and I will definitely keep he and your family in my prayers!

Okay, added your mom to the list! :)

Liz- I hope all is well with your dh.

Thank you all...he is feeling much better today...hasn't called the doc yet though!!

DM - We've held things for people at yard sales and they have never come back too...but luckily we have been able to sell them to someone else. Oh, and I'm a southern girl so yes, you do have an accent :)

Thankyou everyone, just heard from my mom. The Ford service place told her that they couldn't find anything wrong with the car. So she is one her way to B-ham, AL to stay the night with her sister then in the moring on to La. She will be taking her time to get there, no rush.

I live just outside of B'ham so she is very close to me. I hope she made it here safe.

Well, I dropped Amanda off at church for her 1st week long overnight camp this morning. She was excited & a little nervous too. They don't allow the girls to call home at all. We can email her and she will get it right before bed at night but she can't email back. It will definitely be something different for all of us. I am going to pick her up Friday afternoon.

Only 7 more work days for me before our trip!! Woooo hoooo!!! I am off this Friday to go pick Amanda up and then we are leaving next Friday

Crazy K - Congrats to your son & his team...that is a huge trophy!

Crazy K & DM - I'm worried about the crowds too but the best part is we will be at Disney!! Oh, I got me some Croc flops today (Charcoal & Cotton Candy Athens) so can I join your club now?

Welcome to the Crocs Club! I wore my clogs yesterday to the horse show and my mother got quite a kick out of them. :goodvibes

We were in Disney the same week last year. Yes, it is crowded, and Yes, it is HOT. We waited on line for 2 hours to ride "Soarin" - but that was our arrival day and we didn't have much time for anything else. We had an obscene wait at Splash Mountain, but that was because some FOOL decided to stand up in the middle of the ride - so everything stopped and got EXTREMELY backed up. Oh - and we had another obscene wait at Peter Pan - to which Bob said, "and WHY was it that we waited in this line?" Needless to say - he's not doing THAT again!

We have decided, as a family, that we will just do the "favorites" this trip, and if we have time for anything else, we'll do it. Looks like we might do Blizzard Beach on Monday instead of Typhoon Lagoon - Dana's been talking to friends who really enjoyed BB. As long as I have a lazy river, and a chair with my book and a mai tai.......:beach:

Well, I already have 6 pair of the Beach/Cayman ones but these are my 1st flip flops and I love them almost as much as my others.

Yes, there are just some rides that we will not that long for at all. I am hoping that we will be able to do everything that we want to by using TGM.

Last year we were there from June 25-July 1. I will say it was hot, but not miserable like it is in August. Most days it was low to mid 90s. We had rain 5 days out of 7, with 3 of them BAD rain storms, 2 regular Florida liquid sun. As for the crowds... we noticed the crowds getting worse the closer we got to the 4th. We checked out on Saturday, July 1, and the people were swarming in. That was our most crowded day, but we were also in MK on a Sat. During the week... AK was awful, but partly because the paths are narrow and poorly laid out, so you feel you are getting trampled no matter what. PM EMH was awesome here... 20 min wait for EE, walk-on to Kali. Epcot was extremely crowded at TT, Turtle Talk, and Soarin during the day (didn't check MS) During PM EMH, it was walk on to MS and Turtle Talk, 45 min wait for Soarin, and 3 HOURS for TT. WS you could walk on to any ride at night. Epcot ball, Figment, etc were pretty much 10 min wait max during the day both days we were there. MGM had pretty big waits all day. I suggest picking up a fast pass for a ride, then going to a show. Muppets, GMR, Mermaid, Beauty and Beast... all had lines but only long enough to wait until the next show. MK we did smaller rides and anything we saw without a long line during the day. PM EMH was incredible! We could walk-on to BTMR, SM, Buzz, anything in Fantasyland, POTC... basically everything was 10 min wait TOPS, but most things less than 2 min. Avery and I were doing Fantasyland while Wynn and Tucker went to SM (read DMs PTR to see how Tucker liked SM!) In the 20 min we had to ride, we rode Snow White, Pooh, carousel, Small World, Peter Pan twice, and Snow White again! We were running from ride to ride, and were almost the only ones riding! Anyway... hope some of you find some of that useful!

I might be able to find it useful if I could figure out what all the abbreviations were! LOL :lmao:

Sonya,

We have really never waited more than 45 minutes for ANYTHING using TGM plans. And we travel during spring break, during the summer, during Presidents week.... I really think following his best parks and his plan works... we have been to WDW about 15 times... and used TGM about 11 - wouldn't travel without him!!!!

We had the family over for Alec's 6th birthday yesterday. I made this cake for him...
P1000574.jpg

Well, actually, I didn't make it. Fooled you! It's store bought from Wegmans. It was a chocolate cake and I served it with Edy's strawberry ice cream.

Here's Alec next to his presents...
P1000555.jpg

...then the diva Brooke had to get a shot with her shades on...
P1000553.jpg

...and I just had to throw in a new picture of my new niece, Emmy. She will be 4 months old on Wednesday.

And here is a video of Alec getting sung "Happy Birthday..." to him. Yes, you can hear my most beautiful voice louder than everyone else's. I probably can give Renee a run for her money! :lmao:

DM -what are they talking about - you DO NOT have an accent:confused3 ... as a matter of fact you sound alot like me.... (bad singing and all:lmao: )

Wendy, I'm getting a little nervous that I haven't gotten all of the TGM stuff down. In fact I'm looking at his board now too. What do/did you do to make sure you knew what to do when? I have an excel spreasheet with some info on it and I have printed out some of the plans but I'm still worried that I have missed some key point in all of the info there.

DM- Yall were talking about me behind my back!!!! How funny! AT least it wasn't anything bad!

SunL- Maddie's doing fine. Actually, I think she hurt her arm. She's limping tonight. I think she must have jumped off the bed--- she's used to having carpet under there, but now that it's wood, she slips when she jumps. It's got me nervous, but I suppose I'll just wait and see how she is tomorrow. She's starting to get used to the house though- it's a bit of an adjustment for her, but she'll be fine!

CK- Awesome trophy! And cute picture!!!! Congrats!

WHAT is TGM??? :confused3

Well all I can say is I'm buying plently of Dr. Scholls stuff for blisters cause what do ya know, three days before I leave I get a nice big old blister from my boots.

I've got blisters on my insteps from working out, but they are not tender anymore. And yet... I still have cottage cheese thighs!
