We booked Discovery Cove back in Jan. We also booked a cabana which included the elite photo package.
We had heard so many great stories but also a few not so great ones. When you are spending nearly $2,000 for one day you certainly want it to be perfect, and it was.
I can't tell you how impressed I am with this park. We checked in at 7:15 a.m. and we were checked in within minutes and was at breakfast by 7:30. Breakfast was great and there was something for everyone, Fruits, yogurts, meat, drinks etc. We were then taken to our cabana where our fridge was stocked with drinks and snacks. Our cabana lady came by and said alcoholic drinks start 9:30. When we came back our fridge was supplied nicely.
While we spent little time at our cabana we would do it again. It was great when it rained and it was a nice place to stop back to.
The swimming was so much fun. We loved every part but the fresh water pool. Not that it was bad but just not for us. This had the monkey's and the otters. But other then that is was just a very large pool which most family's will love.
Believe it or not my daughters enjoyed the birds as much as anything else. We spent quite a bit of time there and went back several times.
The lazy river was so nice and break from the cold water at the reef. It was fun to go around. Water shoes would help here but also knees may get scrapped. But we loved it!
The reef was amazing and we could have spent our whole day just there. Workers are in the water answering questions. It was so much fun. Now I have been snorkeling my whole life in Key West and was worried this place would be disappointing but let me tell you I was not and would love to do again very soon. The rays are so big you can't believe their size. There are so many fish to look at.
The dolphin swim was also amazing. We got a solid 1/2 an hour with them after a short video. We had two dolphins, Copper and Acai. We loved it so much. Well a lot of it is for picture taking we still enjoyed being able to kiss the dolphin, hug them and then swim with them. It was so much fun I about cried when I got in the water with them for the first time.
I highly recommend this place it is so worth every penny. Lunch was also very good, there were many options available. To be honest we were so full from the ongoing snacks we were not that hungry. We had pretzels and slushies and planters snack packs and chips etc. the list goes on. My kids were in heaven.
My only complaint would be that they should offer a two day package with your second day without the dolphin swim at a huge discount price. We could have spent another day easy. It all ended too quickly. We stayed right in the water until 5:30 when they made the annoucement to get out.
We then took showers and picked up our pictures and shopped. We walked out of the park at 7. I think we were the last ones!
