Discovery Cove Evening Package?

We were all set to book our Discovery Cove day in June when, as with everything else about this holiday, I realised there are more great choices to make. :)

Originally we'd set aside a whole day for Discovery Cove to break up an active week in the main parks but have now realised another option is to do a Discovery Cove Evening Package instead. This would allow us to maybe spend the daytime shopping or to visit one of the smaller parks like Gatorland.

Does anyone here have experience of both the daytime and the evening package? If so which is "better" if such a thing exists?

We're from the UK, just the two of us, no kids, spending the first week in Orlando and then chilling out for a week in Sanibel and so are quite happy to fit as much in as we can in that first week.

we have not yet done discovery cove but are reserved for the last saturday in august... from what i read on the website the evening package does not include a dolphin "swim" but rather "wading w/the dolphins" which would just not be "good enough" for my dolphin-crazed dd! LOL!

Agreed, didn't want to take that chance so went for a daytime slot.

Ordered through Online Florida and the tickets arrived this morning. :)

I've never heard of the evening thing, it's new to me.
DC is something you must do and it's an all day event the first time. I wouldn't change plans if you already have a reservation set. I can't imagine someone picking shopping, or driving 2 hours to visit Gatorland, as opposed to spending an entire day at a place that is like Key West. Don't worry about Gatorland or shopping. DC is the main attraction. You get there early in the morning, spend the entire day, relax, then go have a nice dinner. The next morning, you visit SWF so you can pet the dolphins and watch the shows with more knowledge you've picked up.
