Discovering DVC timandlesley style-A PTR, 19 days TRIP REPORT LINK PG.119!!!!!

Congrats!! Love refund time...will be doing mine in a few weeks.....:cool1:

Wow - I was told the number of points could never change, only the dates for the different rates, like Dream, Magic, etc.:confused3

The rule is that the points for the week can never change, but the point allotment for any given night can change so long as the change doesn't result in that week costing more than it had previously. Make sense?

Congrats Lesley! DH is working on ours as we speak. I think we will have to pay though... :(

congrats on the great refund!

that's one thing about being self-employed that i really can't stand: i always have to PAY. :sad2:

Glad you can use that money for your trips. I wish we could too but I have to pay my property taxes with mine  :crazy2: :scared: :sad2: . Boy that money could buy me a NICE Disney vacation! But I'm trilled for you guys:thumbsup2

COngrats lesley on your refund I am keeping my fingers crossed. I see lauren goes to Gymnastics so does my daughter she is really obsessed, does your daughter attend Cinn gymnastics? A lot of big gymnasts have come out of there.

Congrats on the refund! I get my W2 on Monday and I cannot wait! Our refunds always pay for our summer vacation and like you, I am on pins and needles waiting to see what it is every year. Thank goodness for Turbo Tax!

So, today was the moment of truth for us...............
TAX DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:
I got my second W2 in the Mail from University of Phoenix today and sent Tim out the door to take Lauren to gymnastics.
A lump always appears in my throat on this day because all of the budget for our summer and spring break travels comes from this amount.
Well...............................................................
I'm HAPPY to report we got an AWESOME refund this year:cool1: :cheer2: pixiedust:
So we can proceed as planned with our Disney ressies, dining plans, buying annual passes, etc.!!!!!:thumbsup2
I am going to finish up and efile this weekend and then when we get the refund I plan on buying the annual pass voucher before we go, any tips for this?????:confused3
Lesley

Yes, there is a thread on the DVC boards pertaining to purchasing your member AP. You can actually save money by purchasing a multiday pass at undercover tourist, then upgrading to your DVC member rate at WDW. I believe you actually have to use one day's admission before upgrading to the AP, but I think it could save you ~ $100 for your family of 4.

Thanks! I actually spent some time on that thread this weekend. Actually its the points for the year that can't change, and a couple of the resorts did change by just a point or two, leaving some people unable to stay for a week with the number of points they have. Some of those people just purchased at BLT and AKL and haven't even got to use their points yet and already don't have enough! :sad1: - I'm fine with it because coming from the West coast, we are going to always stay a week anyway because of the cost of airfare, and we always have SOG as a back up.

Sorry to highjack your thread, Lesley! I was just noticing how close you are getting to your big trip already. It seems like you just got back from your last one, and its almost time to go! :cool1:

Cool!
Just log on to DVCmember.com and follow the link through there to order your APs with a discount. That's what we usually do. I like to have them in hand. Also, keep two copies of your receipts in two different locations if you can just in case you lose one or the vouchers. :thumbsup2

:cool1: Hooray for refunds! We are shaking in our boots this year because Matt did a lot of extra money making band stuff last year. We set aside a big chunk of money in case we owe, but are hoping to break even!

I'm a bit bummed about the point change because we purposely tried to snag Sunday-Monday dates so we could max out our points. Too bad for us, I guess!!:sad2:

Hey Lesley--congrats on the refund!!! When you get the whole AP thing figured out, please inform us here---we are thinking of doing an AP since my Mom has already started talking about a June 2010 trip, but have NO clue about them!!! Let me know! Jen

Congrats!! Love refund time...will be doing mine in a few weeks.....:cool1:
It was awesome, but now Turbotax is having a technical problem and it won't let me efile, it is driving me CRAZY, hopefully we get our money soon!

Thanks for clarifying this, I didn't know it. For us it works out but for others I could see why they'd be upset.

Oh shoot!! That stinks, sending positive thoughts your way!

Me too, I understand about the property taxes, those STINK, luckily we just got them escrowed in after refinancing this year, that has been a God send!

Hey Lesley! I was reading a SSR thread on the DVC threads and found this info on the 4th of July from last year! Read the last post on the page and then it continues on the next page!

Congrats on the refund!:thumbsup2
Diane, Thanks!!! That is awesome, I think after OHana's we'll head back then and watch from SSR, are you guys there then? If so, we should meet up to watch them!

Good luck to you. Yes, Turbo tax has been a godsend normally but when I went to efile it had an error and won't let me file, some corruption on their end, I spent hours on the phone with tech support today, hopefully it will be resolved soon and we'll get our money!! Very frustrating!

Thanks, I saw that, but I saw how many got burned on it, I think we'll get them on the DVC website.
Lesley

Really enjoying reading your report! Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks, glad you are enjoying it!

I checked out the link--the store does look like alot of fun for all ages, even the creatively-challenged folks like me:thumbsup2

I am so excited about the new Design your own T store and Design your own Ears stores in DTD, I can't wait for the kids to experience these, I can see souvenier money being spent here this year for sure, check it out:

I agree - so pumped about this! Being plus-sized, I don't always find shirts that I want to purchase AND that I'd want to wear in public. :lmao: It should be a fun store. I love the little tee shirt things they give you when you pay that "turn into" your big shirt!
