I am considering this tour with my 4 and 5 year olds, and would love to hear details, experiences and opinions from anyone who has gone on this tour before.

Thanks! :)

Just went on this tour a few weeks ago and my kids (ages 10 and 11) loved it.

If your kids are not timid and get into things like that, then they will have a blast. If not...I think it would kind of be a waste of money. On our tour we had twin 3 year old girls as the only other kids, and they were shy and very scared, didn't really like it at all. Sat in their strollers the whole time.

I don't want to spoil it, but it is like a treasure hunt around the park. We had to do lots of silly things like say "aargh!" as we were walking around.

We went to the following places/went on the following rides:
Disneyland Railroad
Back behind the Columbia on the dock (didn't get on it, it was not out for the day yet)
Pirates of the Caribbean
Tarzan's Treehouse
Buzz Lightyear AB
Carousel
Toontown/Mickey's House

Our tour guide was fantastic and really tried to involve the kids in the hunt. My son (the 11 yo) is feeling a little old and jaded for this type of thing, but he really got engaged and into it as things went along.

It was very fun.

I read the tour description says it includes..

Tour includes:

•Lunch and Beverage
•Special souvenir gift

Can you please tell us more about the lunch and gift .. :)

The site that I think you may received this info from has an outdated description of the tour overall. It changed several years ago. They no longer offer lunch and they've replaced this with a "frozen treat" (frozen apple juice). If it's the same site, the description of the whole tour is the previous one. The current one doesn't have the interaction with the characters as mentioned. The only character you'll meet is Mickey, as the poster above mentioned. Also, the general theme is different than the one described.... It's a treasure hunt now. We did the tour about a year ago and received little treasure boxes from Mickey when we visited him at the end of the tour. Someone who has done the tour recently mentioned that they are no longer giving these out. The only thing that they received was a pin or button from Mickey, so no real "gift" or "treasure" any longer.

I had just read a whole detailed account of the tour on another site and was about to book the tour based on that. So really, no characters? No lunch? :( I didn't think the lunch sounded all that tasty (but for a 3 hour activity would be nice), but the characters were what I thought my kids would love.

Bummer.

We did get to see Mickey, we had our own personal time with him for photo ops, etc. We went through the back door into his house.

No lunch, but we did have frozen apple juice, which was yummy and hit the spot at the perfect time. We were done right at noon, so the timing worked well for us to just head to lunch after that.

The prize at the end was a pin. We are pin collectors, so this was the absolute perfect prize for us to receive. The fun for my kids was really the whole experience, they weren't expecting a big treasure at the end.

Yikes...
so is this tour different too??

I agree with you......We liked the tour because of the whole experience. :) We have food allergies, etc,. so a frozen apple juice was the perfect thing for us because everyone could have it. We loved the special opportunity to spend time with Mickey at his house too. We knew exactly what to expect with the tour because we had read a recent update of it before we booked it. I think the problem lies with sites that have the description of the old tour and people get disappointed because it is not what they had expected. But without any comparison to the older one, we liked the tour and had a great time. :)
