hey there my fellow WISHers...

well, we are on day 6 of induction. we haven't cheated and had anything that we weren't supposed to have...at least, not that i'm aware of anyway. i feel ok...DH is doing fabulously! he's lost about 7 pounds!! i had lost about 3 pounds early in the week. but when i have weighed in the last few days, my weight hasn't moved. and this morning...i'm right back where i started. :(

i've had the same things as DH all week. there was maybe one meal that i had that he had something different. what am i doing wrong??? i'm feeling quite discouraged right now...

Don't weigh so much!!! I only weigh twice a week now cos it's just too discouraging to see the weight fluctuate.

Drink loads of water to flush all the retention away and if you're getting near that TOM then you'll probably go up a lb or 2 as well, due to the bloat fairy visits.

It's only day 6 after all, into a whole new WOE - you have the rest of your life to get to target really.

Don't get discouraged, it takes a while for some of us to get into ketosis. Try the test strips and see what they say. If your in ketosis your on your way. Don't give up!

Sounds like the bloat fairy has been to your house. I thought the scoundrel was just visiting me but now I see that the BF can be in several places at the same time.

I can gain as much as 12 pounds overnight. It's all fluid retention. I agree with Elise, don't weigh yourself so often. I can't weigh more than once a week or I get very frustrated. In fact, I tend to hold so much fluid I'm even thinking of changing to a once a month weigh in.

Here is the most important question for you: Did you measure yourself when you began controlling your carbohydrate intake? Yes? Then measure yourself again in a couple of weeks . No? Well, what are you waiting for? Go measure yourself. As you can see from my signature I've lost as many inches as pounds and there have been many, many weigh ins where I lost no weight but lost lots of inches.

Hang in there. You can do this...just remember that men lose much more quickly than us lucky females. My dh lost 13.5 pounds his first week--I lost 5. He weighed everyday...I weighed at the end of 7 days. I think I, too, would have been discouraged to see a gain on day 6.

Whatever you do, don't give up. You will never reach goal if you give up. Just come and visit WISH a lot. It helps--really. We're here for you always...we have broad shoulders...and we care :)

You are doing wonderful. Don't get discouraged. You have been doing well, not cheating etc. Rejoice in the fact that you have seen your weight go down. It will go down again. Weight fluctuates so often. I agree with Katholyn, that if the up and down will discourage you, weigh yourself less often. Try once a week. But again, remember that its just water. If you are eating the right things, it will catch up and show on the scale.

Keep up the great work!

Hang in there, Brandie...

The scale can turn around overnight!!!
