discounts with cast member as DVC guest?

We have a trip planned for February with DH, myself, a friend and her son. Her son recently got chosen for a professional internship at Disney

I'm wondering if others have traveled with a cast member as a guest and if they have been able to get discounts on the dining and / or hopper passes due to having a cast member on the reservation. I'm thinking no, since we are DVC members and not paying cash for the room. I'm fine with not getting any, but certainly don't want to pass it up if it's available.

Any thoughts, comments, or advice with this are appreciated.

CMs can purchase certain passes at a (rather small) discount.

dining, and other, discounts are listed on the Hub (Disney employee website). as said, he would need his cast ID.

I'm asking because I don't know, wouldn't they also have to be the one's paying where payment was involved? This is usually how Disney's discounts are set up, not that they always follow their own rules.

I don't know either, but would suspect that they would be the one that needs to pay.
