Discounts on Universal Passes

Well, I just bought 3 of my 5 tix from our local AAA office ($85/tix) - with the upcoming holiday break they sold out! Hopefully I'll be able to get the other 2 there in a few weeks. I know I can buy them online but they're cheaper at AAA - and every little bit helps, ya know?

Can anyone tell me if the $85 promo tickets have an expiration date? In other words, we are going to Orlando in May, 2008. If I buy the tickets now, can I use them then? Or must they be used in 2007? Thanks for your input!

I am trying to buy the UK tickets. When I hit start purchase it doesn't give me the kids free option. Am I missing something? How do I do this?? And the $112 is US money right??

Thanks!

Buy one year get 1 Free for AAA south members:

Serving AAA Members in Florida, Georgia, the western two-thirds of Tennessee and Puerto Rico.

$184.95 Plus Tax gets you the Preferred AP for 2 years.
Promo ends August 31 and passes must be activated by September 30, 2007

Buying AP for our trip in July.
Should i buy the power pass, anyone know blackout dates, or preferred pass, not bothered about discounts at restaurants as i have AAA card.
The passes will only be used for the 3 weeks we are there, as we will not be back until next July and will have to buy passes for then.
I had read somewhere that blackout dates besides the busier times [ i.e Christmas Easter 4th July],are each weekend in July and August, anyone know if this is correct, as i would need to buy the preferred if this is true.

dates of black out with power pass:

You can enjoy one (1) year of park-to-park admission to both Universal Studios Florida & Islands of Adventure with limited blackout dates for the regular price of $119.95 plus tax.

In addition, you will also receive a 10% discount on all multi-day tickets.

Blackout dates for the Power Pass are as follows:

2007 Dates: 2008 Dates:
January 1 January 1
April 2-7 (9:00am-5:00pm on the 7th) March 17-23 (9:00am-5:00pm on the 22nd)
July 1-8 June 29-July 6
December 23-31 December 21-31

Thanks macraven,
looks good, as there are no blackout dates when we are there , we arrive
14th July until 4th August, so reckon i will go with them.
One more question, some opinions , should i buy 2 power pass and 1 preferred pass, would i save over the vacation the extra i pay for the preferred pass, and what bis the chances of the RPR rates coming lower with an AP than AAA.

you only need one preferred pass to get the discounts on the hotels, food in the park, merch and free parking in the garage . if you stay off site, the garage parking is something you can really save on.

look at the black out dates for the power pass. they usually are the same each year. if your next trip falls into the open time period, then go for the power passes for the others.

check the hotel websites to see what you could save money wise.
first do regular rack rates. put no code in.
then go back and put in APH to see what the ap rate would be.

you will save 10% usinng the aph card for merch and food.

if you have the AAA card, you will also get 10% discount but no free parking.

with the aph, the first time you have to redeem the coupon for the aph so parking is not free. all other times for the year will be then.

Thanks macraven, the parking does not matter as we are staying at RPR soit would basically be the savings on food and merchandise, will wait a few weeks yet and see if the AP rate comes lower than AAA which we have at $191.20

I want to buy tickets on the uk website (Don't live in the UK) There is a great offer --> kids free.......

I bought last year the same tickets, but officially they are for people from the UK.....

I spoke with a lady from Customer Service from universal, and she told me that most of the menbers at the gate, don't know where the Netherlands are.

Can i use the tickets without getting problems.

Normally i heve to pay 3*85.99 exc TAX.
now i can pay 10*112 and 1*85.99.
It sames me some money, but i don't wat to have a big risk

Please help me.
THX,
Pascal

3 days to go, then we are flying to Florida for 3 weeks

Seems lots on here have bought the tickets on the UK site, so cannot see a problem with them. When you get to the gate to enter the park ,cannot see them having the time to read the ticket, as long as it goes through ok.,
Not sure but maybe someone who has got theirs could tell you, Does it say UK anywhere on the ticket

If you Have AAA you can get the 85.99 + tax 7 day pass that they're online for 85.00 total,at your AAA office. Savings of about 7.50 a ticket, every liitle bit helps.:thumbsup2

I'm glad I saw this post. I was trying to order the $86 tickets from the Universal website, which is a good price, as I recall it was a special of $99 last year. Anyway, for some reason my ticket order wouldn't go through, which was really a sprinkle of mummy dust in disguise, because I just read this thread and ordered my tickets thru AAA. I saved over $30, and yes every little bit help!

Thank you amshowers!

Does anyone have an answer for this? We are going in 2 weeks and wandered if there were any other deals out there? We are going on day 1 and day 8, so the 7 day tickets won't be of any benefit for us. Does anyone know if there are any AP ticket discounts, that if we bought 1 AP pass we could buy the rest of our tickets with their discount. I hadn't seen any deals posted recently so hoped there was something new out there...

thanks!
Heather

why not buy a 2 day ticket that does not have to be used on consecutive days

or if you buy the ap, you can buy tickets at a discount once that ap has been activated.

Okay I see the 2 day under the UK pricing- does anyone know if the free childs ticket is still available?

p.s. When I click on the start purchase button, it does not list the 2 day, 3rd day free ticket as an option to purchase??????

thanks!
Heather
