Discounts on dining?

Jim, I did try to answer the OP in post #5. You don't really expect us to stay on topic do you? ;)

I agree with bicker that the direct DVC discounts are rather limited and sometimes servers aren't familar with them. The portable perks might help with that.

Disney is nothing but inconsistent. With the old FnF card, the rule was any stay of consecutive days at a single resorts was regarded as one stay. Even if you checked out then back in, even if you were in a different unit or even unit type the second portion. They were not good at enforcing it, but this was the rule. I would assume the same rule this time as well and the same inconsistencies.

Interesting Dean. Was that rule just for DVC members booking FnF or for DRC reservations also?

I do think the Dining program states for length of stay and I'm not advocating breaking the rules. But isn't the intent of the LOS requirement to make sure WDW gets the best return for their dollar by requiring the meals to be taken within a specific length of time rather than spread out over a longer vacation? For someone staying for a very long trip, I would think WDW would be happy to take the extra dollars for a specified portion of the trip.

Oops... never mind. I remembered...

NO, it was part of the FnF rules in general which were never tied to DVC specifically. There are several reasons you require LOS, 3 day minimum and all guests. One is to predict the usage and income, another is to encourage more on property dining, and the other (and main one) is hoping people don't use it all and you get more income than you would have without the plan. Same reason they required LOS on the previous passes.

I have the 95, 96, 97 & 98 DVC info on the FnF plan, later Called Disney Dining Style, however, I no longer have the actual brochure, only the summary in the DVC guidebook. Most things list a 3 day minimum and the words entire length of stay. I no longer have the brochure which actually defined LOS further. However, the info for LOS passes was the same. Quotes from the LOS rules included a specific definition of LOS.
"Entire Length of Stay" includes both the day of arrival and the day of departure. ...refers to the actual dates and not the length of the reservation. For example, even if the stay combiens different room type (a 7 day stay with the first 3 days in a studio and the last 4 days in a 1-bedroom), both reservations together would constitute a single stay...
The only difference between the LOS passes and FnF was that the FnF was tied to the number of nights, ie, 1 night didn't equal 2 days.

I'll be at BWV for 9 days in March and got an AP just to get the DDE card (going with 7 people). How many cards will I get? I thought 1 but a previous post said that I'll get 2 cards. Does anyone know?

DDE purchases in 2005 got two cards. Reportedly, for 2006, we will receive one card (now for $60) and an additional card will be $25.

Rich never used "multiple IDs"

He was always just himself :earsboy:
