Discounts during holidays..I know, I know...

here is someone else..asking yet another question about discounts and holidays...

Im sure the answer is "NO"..but....I'll ask anyway..

Has anyone gotten a discount during a holiday??

We're looking at going during the kids spring break in 2012 - which will be for us April 6-13, 2012...I know not everyone has the same break time...but has anyone gotten a discount, either a public discount or a PIN number during spring break?

I just got a PIN not 2 hrs ago and it was this:

For stays most nights 1/2–4/16/11 & 5/1–6/5/11.

But, its not the dates for our spring break for this year which starts the 18th...

and I know they can get folks in during that time so why bother with the discounts..but a girl can *wish*, right??

Rumor is that Disney is restricting offers to off season, while extending the dates. However additional days may be added later on.

Still, %off are only valid on the dates established, whereas FD is good for the entire stay provided you arrive on the last day of the offer.

So yes, I've gotten FD during my stay in 2008 during Xmas, and this year again (also during Xmas).

We had discounts during the last 2 spring breaks.

We went Easter week 2009 and got the great 4/3 deal.

We went Easter week 2010 and got the 35% offf moderate deal.

Both years the blackout dates were in effect during our trip. Than less than 45 days before Easter the blackouts dates were dropped and the discounts applied. Both times I was give a refund sicne I had already paid in full.

You have to be willing to go at full price than be happy when a discount is opened up but accept it may not happen. You also have to very watchful when they open up and call QUICKLY to have it applied. When we are close to a trip I do a quick daily check of this board.

Yes, we have gotten a discount for Christmas week every year for the past 10 years. We have always checked in before the holiday week and they used to apply the discount for our entire stay. They stopped doing it this way a couple years ago but we have been lucky enough to get some kind of discount that week. We had the free dining discount 2 years ago and we were VERY lucky last year and received a 40% PIN discount 3 weeks before our trip. If they see that the rooms are not going to fill up...they will offer the discount. Sometimes you just have to be patient!!!!!
