Do we get discounts on park tickets or dining plan as a member? I cannot find that info.
Thanks

No member discounts on daily theme park admission. Members get reduced pricing on annual passes and discounts on daily admission to the water parks and Disney Quest.

No discounts on the dining plans, but members don't pay the seasonal surcharge.

Members can also get discounted prices for some events like the Christmas and Halloween parties on select dates.

And some restaurants offer discounts to DVC members. At times in the past, the online Disney Store has offered discounts to DVC members-- a code is posted at times on the member site.

Many of the discounts are the same as what AP holders get. Sometimes the DVC discount is less so check all available discounts and don't assume that one is better than the other.

Members also get discounts while shopping, discounts on the Cirque and pay no hotel taxes. Unfortunately we are not eligible for the "free" dining plans they offer.

And never buy assuming discounts will stay the same. Discounts are perks - they aren't contractual and over the years they've come and gone. The AP discount is great, but ten years ago, we got a discount on hoppers, but not on APs. We've done Cirque many times, and have never managed to do it when a discount was in place. Restaurant discounts are often only available at lunch.

I think we should get better discounts on tickets. DVC members spend a lot of money in the parks.

And if you don't get a better discount will you still spend money in the parks?

Disney doesn't give money away, they know exactly what we spend and now with NextGen they will know down to the penny what we spend, where we spend it, and what we do.

I'm guessing the answer it, "No, we won't ... as we won't be in the parks." I can't tell you how often we've stayed full weeks at BWV and never entered a park ... or weekends at Disneyland w/out parks. Ticket prices are simply too high to make a park visit worthwhile.

I know I'm stuck in the old-times ... but I wish we could go back to ticket books for rides/attractions with a low base-fare for park entry. Sigh.

Have you tried 10 day non-expiration tickets? That's what we use.

We did them once years ago ... but more recently have simply "not done parks." Again, the ticket prices are simply too high to be comfortable using for anything less than "high power, commando-style" park navigation and that isn't much our style these days.

Edited to add: It isn't that we can't afford them ... but that the prices have crossed the threshold of being a "no brainer." Once I have to start evaluating, "Do I really want this?" the decision often becomes a very quick, "Nope, I can live without it." More often I ask myself, "Which would I rather ... park tickets or something for my horses?" The horses win nearly every time!

Edited again to add: FWIW, I thought I'd try pricing out the 10d non-expire tickets ... but the website no longer offers the no-expire option. (I think that change has been discussed previously on this board.)

Undercover Tourist using the MouseSaver discount.

Disney pulled the tickets from their site because they make more money with expiring tickets. You can buy them at WDW.

We don't commando but we can do our favorite rides and attractions, eat at a park(s) and get our park fill in a couple of days out of a 10 day vacation.
