Discounts, Add-ons and Split Contracts

Just thinking about advice being given some other threads - to not buy one large contract from Disney, but instead buy several smaller contracts. Standard advice on the DIS - makes a lot of sense.

But how does that work with the various discounts and specials Disney offers? If Disney is offering a 15% off - can you walk in the door and get 3 150 point contracts and a 50 point contract all with the discount? Or would you just get the discount on the first contract and pay "rack rate" for the others, requiring you to get one big contract if you want 500 points at the discounted price?

You would get the discount for all purchases that apply. The current incentive would apply to the three 150 point purchases without a doubt and would probably apply to the 50 as well if purchased in conjunction with one of the other contracts.

Most of these incentives have always had a minimum purchase - most likely a 50 point add-on by itself would not get the same incentive. In addition, the current incentive is available only for the Phase III buildings at SSR and not for any of the other resorts.

Thats a good question...I would call your guide if you have one.
But I must add it is better to have smaller contracts. We bought 310 points and split it into two 155's by the recommendation from some one here on the DIS. The logic, which you may already know, is that if anything ever happened where you had to sell you can unload smaller contracts easier the one 500 pointer. Take a look at whats for sale at TTS. the larger contract sit for a while while if some one had a 50 points contract it sells quick and at a premium. With a 500 point purchase I know the initial 150 would be discountable and the next two 150's would more than likely be the same. But the 50 pointer may or may not be considered an add on to the 450 points purchase....therefore not discountable...
