Discount through Cheaptickets

I made a reservation tonight and left off one of my daughters who is 17. I was able to pull the reservation immediately on MDE and it only had my name and said 2 other adults so I added my husband and other daughter's names.

I then called Disney and the girl tried a couple different ways and said she was locked out of the reservation and even though she really wanted to add my daughter it wouldn't let her

So I tried live chat with Cheap Tickets. The guy at first was like no problem, give me her name and I will call. Well he called the actual hotel and the lady there said our reservation wasn't showing up yet so she couldn't do anything. He tried to tell me it would be easier to cancel and rebook with Disney! I cant believe the owner of Cheap Tickets would appreciate them trying to get rid of business

He finally said to contact them again tomorrow and see if the reservation shows up however I am wondering if this is not something to be done by calling the hotel directly? When does the reservation actually show up for them?

Very frustrating. I called Disney back and got a girl who didn't know much, must be new because all she kept saying is I really have no idea how it works, who they would need to speak to etc

I was thinking that Cheap Tickets should know who they need to speak to? If not the hotel then is there anything specific I should say so that they contact the right person to do this?

The bummer is that both people I spoke to at Disney wanted to do it but said they couldn't get into the reservation

I would guess you had a dud of a Cheap Tickets agent who didn't know the Disney system. Agree with PP that your reservation should show up if it is showing in MDE. Call Cheap Tickets back and hopefully you will get a new agent who can it done for you. Sometimes it is luck of the draw. I would call instead of chat and ask that they not put you on hold but just call you back when it is taken care of. They will need the name and age of the guest to give to Disney.

Hope they can take care of it for you quickly and painlessly this time

The hotel won't talk to you about a reservation. They'll transfer you out to central booking, who will then tell you to call Cheaptickets. It's 'locking out' the Disney agents because they can't change third party bookings.

Call CT and tell they agent to call Disney directly. They need to call Disney's Travel Trade line who handles third party bookings, but if they happen to call the main line they'll get them to the right spot. From there, Travel Trade can add someone with CT on the line.

Yay success! I ended up doing chat again because I had been waiting over 15 minutes on the phone and no one had even answered yet. Got a nice lady who took care of it for me and now my daughter shows up on MDE too.

Just have to get the tickets now so I can do that part. If I buy them from Disney will they have a way to immediately link them or do I still have to wait until I actually get them?

Glad you got things straightened out! Not sure about the tickets, but I would think you could link them right away. One of the delivery choices is will call, so I'd bet there's a way to link immediately so that you can make your reservations! I'm buying ours through Undercover Tourist and saving $100, so I'm waiting for them to arrive to link them.

I tried it for 2 rooms (6 of us-but I only put 2 in each room and planned on chatting or calling to add the 2 more kids) at Pop in May and it said the CHEAPTASTIC isn't valid for that resort...bummer.

Would have booked it and then made a call to cancel the Disney ressie as it would have saved us over 300 bucks.

I'll keep watching for a different one and keep trying! Still got time!

Yeah, the hotel is available...we want the Pop for the 2 rooms at a good price since there are 6 of us (I'm talking a family of 5 who have never been to anywhere other than MK for 1 day) staying onsite. They invited me and my wife said "Go!" and I am!
The Pop is available, just not with the extra 25%...
If it were my wife and I going, I'd take the WL deal at 262 plus 25% off would be around 200 a night...BUT it's not

For those of you interested in POP...you might want to look at CBR. I just cancelled and re did my ressie with the new promo and for my two rooms I saved another $44 . The rooms end up being $110 a night. Cheaper than a value and you'd get to stay at a moderate. Just a thought...happy deals to everyone!

Booked with Cheaptickets...saved 315 off our original ressie.
The guy I talked to was great...he did the 2 in each room and will add the 2 kids after the call...he called Disney and they said we don't charge for kids and said after we booked he could add them.
The only thing I need to do is cancel Disney ressie and call Cheaptickets back as my name is on both rooms and I'm showing in MDE as a person in each room and I don't know how to change one of them.

But I'm sure that's an easy fix. I hope!

CBR is the Caribbean Beach Resort. You can also do the Coronado Springs Resort with the discount!

Update:

CT called back and they had Disney on the phone and said the kids were already added and name already changed.
They were looking at my original ressie still there.
I explained this and the guy from CT said "We called prior to booking and Disney said we could add after booking."
Disney lady said "Sorry, you can only show up with the kids and add them at that point."
So I just decided to cancel as I'd have to anyway to change one of the names on the rooms to my friends name so they'd show up in MDE.
Thankfully a full refund...
2 hours of my time for ALMOST saving 315...wish it would've worked, BUT at least I can say CT is awesome customer service and I AM still going to Disney in May!

That's too bad, you got a CM who didn't know what they were talking about. Several others have gotten their kiddos added on after booking. I'm sure it was frustrating to spend so much time on the phone with no results, but for $315, I'd try again. You definitely got a dude of a CM!
