Discount through Cheaptickets

Just an update for anyone who might be thinking about going with cheaptickets. I went ahead and made my reservations, immediately called Disney Travel Co. to cancel my reservations with them, and my cheaptickets reservation was already in their system. I went into MDE and linked the new reservations, very easy! Then I called the Disney magical Express number to get that scheduled. The lady who answered was sure the new reservation wouldn't show within 72 hours, much less 30 minutes. She was very surprised, and said it was the first time she's seen this happen. I'm very relieved that it was so easy. And I saved $628 over the spring offer!!! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 I love saving money! Think of all the nice dinners you can have with the money you saved.

Does anyone know how park tickets work when using cheap tickets? If I opted out of buying tickets, can I add say 5 day tickets. I won't be getting a deal. Or say. I buy tickets and cancel the reservation for a different date what happens to those tickets? Am I out of the the money or will the transfer to a different date?

From what I've read on other threads about this, it's best to do room only on cheaptickets. Apparently they give you a voucher for your tickets with the dates of your trip, so if you have to change your dates, you may be out of luck. I'm buying my tickets at Undercover Tourist, which will save us an additional $100! Good luck! :)

Buy tickets separately. That will eliminate your having to use a redemption voucher, or any complications concerning a possible cancellation.

To those of you that don't know, as I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread, the discount code to get the extra 20% is "take20".

40% off Pop Century after the code plus two free hopper days on a 5 day MYW.

Way tempting.

Too bad I'm broke. Come onnnnn tax refund.

The code changes every couple of days, but it is usually listed on the Cheaptickets homepage.

Haven't been able to get the link for booking Magic Express to work - at one point it went to the booking location, but I didn't have airfare booked yet. Now that I booked airfare, that link doesn't work. But I know I can use the phone number. :)

I remember this topic from a different thread but can't remember what the final outcome was. When we price hotels for just 2 adults, the price is less than if we price hotels for 2 adults and 2 kids under age 10. That is obviously wrong, but is it a hassle to fix? I assume I would call Cheaptickets and they would have to edit and fix. I'm hesitant to use 3rd party, but the savings is pretty big, especially Easter week considering Disney is charging rack rate.

Yes, I would just call. I called before booking to ask a question about cancellation policies, and they were willing to book my trip over the phone. I do remember that the poster who had this problem, got it straightened out thru Disney, but if you can get around it by calling, all the better. I understand you concerns about a 3rd party vendor because I was the same way. We've booked thru Hotwire and Lastminutetravel.com without any problems, so we thought we'd give cheaptickets a try. Our savings were substantial! :goodvibes Hope it works out for you!

You can buy tickets through Disney directly if you'd prefer via the website or over the phone.

THIS :thumbsup2

I too went ahead on Friday (1/10) and booked through Cheaptickets. Once I received my email confirmation, I added to my MDE account. I then had two reservations at ASMu. I then called Disney Travel and canceled my original reservation. My Cheaptickets reservation was showing in their system.

I have already ordered my Magicband and have ME scheduled. I plan on doing the on-line check in as I usually do, and then sending a fax request a few days before arrival.

I saved over $112 over the AP rate! :dance3:

:cheer2: So glad you got everything arranged!!! :cheer2:

Can room requests be made directly through Disney if one books with Cheaptickets? In other words, once I have the Disney confirmation number can I call Disney and request a certain location? Also, I seem to remember some DISers have problems adding kids to their Cheaptickets room reservations. How does that work? Thank you so much!:goodvibes

I think you may be able to make a request if you do online check-in through MDE. There is a prompt in the process asking if you have any requests.

Anyone successfully do this booking without kids and adding them to the ressie later? If I add the 2 kids to 2 adults my price is the same I am paying through WDW (i.e. the 20% is negated).
Thanks!

I would call and talk to them, maybe let them run the numbers or make the reservation for you. There is no way Disney charges for kiddos under 18. I think it could be a glitch in their system. They were very helpful when I called with a question! :)

I've priced out rooms with the discount code, and I would save $199 if I booked and then cancelled my existing room only reservation with Disney. So basically, the only difference is your cc is charged up front for the whole amount? And that you need to contact Cheap Tickets with changes or questions instead of Disney?
