Discount through Cheaptickets

I've priced out rooms with the discount code, and I would save $199 if I booked and then cancelled my existing room only reservation with Disney. So basically, the only difference is your cc is charged up front for the whole amount? And that you need to contact Cheap Tickets with changes or questions instead of Disney?

As noted, if you have more than 2 persons in the room and any of them are kids under 18, the kids are being charged as adults. There are some folks posting above who are trying to find out if that can be changed or if they can add children to the reservation after it is made.

Not sure whether if I bring a friend (adult) I will be able to add her name to the reservation later. She would not need DME though.

As far as I can see. Before I booked our trip, I looked at a lot of old posts on the DIS where people had used cheaptickets and things went fine. For a savings of over $650, we decided to give it a try. ::yes::

I contacted cheap tickets about charging for more than 2 people in a room at the disney resorts. She replied they do charge for extra guests (more than 2). So the price for me with 2 adults, 2 kids works out the same for a std room at CBR if booked WDW or through cheap tickets; staying with WDW. Waiting for a travelocity code!

I chatted with Cheaptickets online concerning the upcharge for the 2 kids (under 10) in our party and he stated this:

"What happens is that our website you are being counted the children as guests it is not verifying their ages. What you can do in this case is book this reservation without your children and then contact the hotel to let them know that you will be arriving with children that are under the age of restriction that they have and they shall not be priced"

Not sure if that's really the case (and strange grammar there), but I think I will give it a shot. It will save me $125, so its worth it. Once I get everything set up on my Disney Experience page, then I will cancel the other reservation.

The hotel or booking agents won't be able to add the kids to your room. They will tell you to go through the 3rd party you booked through. If you're getting tickets and need to schedule FP+ they'll need to be listed in your room.

This is what I thought too. I also have 2 kids under age 10 -- honestly, I'm not sure if I want to deal with the potential mess. But on the other hand, 20% is the best discount I'm finding for Easter week.... I'm going to hold off and wait and see if an AP deal might include Easter week since there is so much resort availability that week. I'm sure it will be blacked out, but I can still hope....

I was about to book too, until I noticed the kid issue. The problem becomes, if I don't add the kids, will they get a MB and FP+ and all that? Seems like a big hassle. Yet, the savings are substantial!

Already have tickets, just need the room.

Well I'm doing live chat right now to find out why it is $46.75 more for my 5 yr old. First I'm told that the rate isn't changing they are just charging taxes for my child :confused3

They finally admit the error and the solution is for me to cancel and rebook directly with Disney ***???

Not getting a good feeling about booking through this company. Was excited we may finally be able to afford to stay on property, but the deal I found off property was great for us and includes a nice free breakfast. And was just as close as on property hotels.

Well it's still $75 dollars cheaper than Disney and it linked just fine to my MDE account. It just makes me crazy that they are charging extra for my kid. I want that other $47 savings!

I just did a live chat about this on cheaptickets.com. He verified that they are charging, was not sure why and told me nothing could be done about it. My guess? This is how they are making up for the TAKE20 promotion. Not everyone will realize it and they won't really be discounting quite so much!

If it weren't for Magicbands and FP+, I would just book the room for 2 adults and not worry about it. What a shame!

I also just did livechat. They told me that the free child is a Disney promotion that they don't offer! They also gave me the option of booking through Disney!

No they won't if they aren't listed in the room. Disney won't be able to add them.

I also called and was told there is a charge for kids under age 10. That is so strange to me -- I agree maybe it's to set off the 20% discount they're offering.

At the end the chat person told me it was a computer glitch and it was being reported to IT. Can't keep their stories the same. All well I will probably keep the ressie since its cheaper than anything else so far.

Well just cancelled Cheaptickets ressie. With the AP discount and paying off with gift cards from Target it comes out a couple of dollars cheaper using Disney. And for me it's kinda the principle of it. They shouldn't be charging extra for a child.

I was able to get Disney to add my son. Maybe it depends on who you talk to?

Just curious if it was a big hassle? In case I ever want to book with them again. I didn't talk to anyone at Disney just Cheaptickets.

No, it wasn't. We have APs and DVC, I don't know if that made a difference or not.

I read on a similar thread that someone was able to call Disney after booking with a 3rd party vendor (Orbitz, I believe which owns cheaptickets) and get their 2 kids added.....
