Is it possible to get a discount on a stay of only one night? We are arriving the night before our reservations at AKV...so I'm thinking we'll just stay at one of the value or mod resorts that night and transfer over to AKV. What do you think about discounts for one night? Anything?? Or do you have to buy a package or be staying for longer??

If you want to book a AAA discount for one night, i'd suggest that you try to do that immediatly. We added on an extra day to our vacation in december and there was no AAA discounts available for that one night. So now we have two reservations in which one is one day and we have to pay full price for that one night. It's silly, but the AAA discounts book up really quickly.

For the price difference, you may want to just book some other hotel - like in Downtown Disney or the Swan and Dolphin. I know than you can't use Magical Express, but the price difference may be worth spending on a town car (then you can have a grocery stop), assuming you don't have a rental car (which we rarely use at Disneyworld).

I'd consider checking out some other options - then you can enjoy Downtown Disney (if your package starts the next day and tickets also) so you don't have to purchase a one day ticket.

Then you can check in early in the morning at AKL and get your room keys and drop your luggage.

I've stayed a few places offsite, not many, just a few. The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress I stayed at 15 years ago, so that was a long time ago, and we had a bad experience (honeymoon, really bad service, moved to GF after a couple of not so great nights). The Royal Plaza was okay for one night - at least you can walk to Downtown Disney. I love the Swan and Dolphin, and if you're looking at January, you can probably get a great rate somewhere.

Good luck!

Most of the codes for values and mods can be used on a one night stay. We live close so a drive down could be a one night stay with no problems. It's very rare for us to have to pay full price for a one night's stay.

Good luck!!

That's good to hear. We added a night to the beginning of our stay to which I had to pay rack rate. I'm hoping a discount comes out at the end of this month that I can apply to this one night at ASMo. :worship:

We do one night stays often before moving to our DVC resort. We are AP holders, so normally can get that discount. As AP holders you can also add dining to a one-night stay which is a nice perk as we can add the delux ddp on and take 2 days to use our 3 TS credits. Perfect for us, plus you get your mugs that we take to our next resort since they are part of the same trip.

Great idea! Never thought of that.
