I have a Target Red Card and a Sams Club card... I've heard that both of these offer discounts. Is that correct? If so, which is better? We are traveling with a big group and doing one meal out a day (not dining plan). Sounds like it would make a lot of sense to buy a lot of the cards at a discounted price and use them for all of our meals. Am I missing something or is this true? ;)
What about at Target when you get the extra 5% off from the pharmacy, can you use that toward Disney gift cards too?
Thanks!

Target gives you a 5% discount if you use their RedCard to pay for the cards. At Sam's Club, you can buy $150 worth of Disney gift cards for $142.98 which is $0.48 more than Target with the discount.

There is a thread with details about how to work the Target discount to your advantage by purchasing Target gift cards at a discount and then using them to buy Disney gift cards with the 5% discount applied. If done correctly, you can save about 9-10% off the final value of the cards.

The Target REDCard gives you 5% off of your total when it is used as a form of payment. I'm not sure what the percentage savings is for GCs purchased at Sam's Club, but I think it was a similar savings.

You can use Disney GCs to pay for most meals at Disney, unless the restaurant is not owned by Disney and does not participate in Disney's payment system (like the restaurants located in the Swan and Dolphin resorts).

The 5% pharmacy discount used to be applicable to Disney GC purchases but is no longer valid for that purpose.
