Discount amt keeps changing for coupon on National site??

I was at the National site earlier this morning and checked rates for Nov. I used the coupon that expires in 2002 from Disney (that shows up as Buena Vista Internet discount). The first time I used it -
it showed 19.97. About 20 minutes later with the exact same info it showed as 14.97 ! I thought that particular coupon was for a 'free day'. Why would the $ amt be changing ??!!!

Anyone have any thoughts ?

National changes their rates during the course of the day based on inventory. The value of a free day changes with the cost of the rental.

I realize they change their rates but.....
I printed the breakdown of the res and noted that the discount coupon showed -19.67.

20 minutes later, the breakdown page is EXACTLY the same as the printout EXCEPT for the discount coupon amt being -14.97.

The weekly rate,daily rate and all other costs displayed EXACTLY the same as the original printout.
If none of that changes then I don't understand how the cost of 'one free day' changes ??

The free day is usually for a 3 or 4 day rental and not applicable to a weekly rate.
National (at least a few months ago) had problems with the internet reservation system. They were giving discounts that they weren't valid (EB coupon with DC discount code for example) and actually gave multiple customers the same reservation number (happened to me and I confirmed it with their Internet customer service people). National seems to be honoring rates that you print and bring with you.

I had the same thing happen too. If we want to use that internet coupon how do we print a copy of it so we don't get burned when we get our car?

I know how to print out the Disney Coupon-I don't know how to print out the internet Buena Vista coupon. Or am I confused and they are one in the same? I'm using two different codes-so I'm assuming they are different. Thanks.

When you use the disney coupon it shows up on the res breakdown as 'Buena vista internet offer'.
I don't know why but that's what happens when I use the disney coupon. Sorry for the confusion.

There is a "catch" about using the Disney Vacation 1 Free Day Coupon. It's the one that says TRAVEL & TICKETS across the top. You have to click through to National FROM the coupon, bottom left, where it says "TO CARS", and then make your reservation.

The Disney Club coupon " One Free Day" is the same offer and discount, but for DC members only, and comes from the DC website, and has a different code. You book with that offer and DC coupon code on the National website.

Either of the 1FreeDay coupons may be combined with other Contract #'s, Disney Club, Emerald Club, etc.
Whichever "1FreeDay" offer you use to make your reservation, be sure to print out the corresponding page and take it with you!

This is our first time renting, I got a rate of 151.97 for the week, with the surcharge & discount it comes to 175.12. Is this a good deal? Also, it states a full size 2/4 door car. We are a family of 5 and a mini van would have been nice, but a bit pricey. What type of vehicle should I expect? We are staying on site (the Polynesian)

Tink, that's actually rather high, what discounts are you using and when are you going? Keep checking, the rates will change, and you may be able to get a better price. Our April rental, 1 week, full size @ MCO was $132, total.
