Disneyland 70th speculations and news

agree. If parade viewing is the same, and not much actual tour content, I will also probably cancel in favor of the dining package which I also have booked. I hate the food and can't eat it as I'm allergic to mushrooms, but it is still cheaper.

If the viewing is the hub and it also has good view for fireworks that would be amazing. Where is the VIP area for fireworks in relation to your last image of the hub @LKing ? Would be cool to get something of similar value viewing when paying for a tour (even though its not the actual VIP tour) I loved the paid reserved viewing area at Disneyland Paris, its not as organised as Japan, but still an amazing view.

Today was a crazy fun day at Disneyland. Tikis and Bats collided and everyone seemed to be having a great time. CM seemed to enjoy watching everyone run around on scavenger hunts. I'm not sure what out of town visitors thought of all of the Hawaiian shirts and goth.

I took some pictures of the parade viewing areas.

This is Town Square.

The teal area above is the brick area above the curb on the right side in this photo. The bus is traveling the direction of the early parade floats.

This should give you an idea of the width of the area.

This is the view looking forward.

This is the view if you turn around. It will be filled with people during the parade. I'm including this photo because the first parade should finish around 9:20 pm. Fireworks start at 9:30 pm behind you. If you are in the roped off viewing area and want to watch fireworks, you are going to have to navigate through the crowds behind you and work your way down Main Street to watch the fireworks.

I wanted to ask the tour guides if they knew anything about the 70th tour. Unfortunately, by the time I got to the tour kiosk, they were closed. I did, however see what looked like training of new tour guides. And they walked off of the train and then road the Mark Twain. :scratchin

I asked some CM in Guest Relations if they knew anything about the 70th A Story of Celebration Tour. They said, "You've got the right people." I asked if they knew where the parade viewing area would be.
Guest Relations: "We only have one parade viewing area - at Town Square."
Me: "I thought Plaza Inn was using that for their dining package viewing area."
Guest Relations: "We share it. Tours watch the first parade and dining package watches the second parade."
Me: "The dining package confirmation states that their viewing will be for the first parade."
Guest Relations: "It does? Hmm, well I guess tours will watch the second parade."
Me: "So if I have a 9:15 am tour, I'll be watching a 10:45 pm parade?"
Guest Relations: "Yes."

@joseph821 your person sounded more knowledgeable. Or maybe I'm just hopeful that their information was more accurate.

You know I do not know what to believe at this point. @LKing

Definitely calling again..lol

I am going to call again tomorrow!! @LKing
Been following as I booked for my June trip but I guess we won't know anything for sure until somebody takes the tour and does a trip report. @joseph821, when is your trip again?
I will keep it booked if it's anywhere but Town Square...I did Plaza Inn package for parade there last year...it was a waste of money as there was plenty of open space over on opposite side by train steps. But if it was up by the castle...that would be awesome...

Have 2 trips...May 22 through May 31. August 20 to 29th...

Small World viewing area.

In the picture above, the purple rectangles are a terraced region. It looks like the photo below. Parade viewers can sit on the brick on the ground or on the terrace above.

1745799625166.png

Around the corner, closer to SW, is an area that looks like this. I believe this is where they have had the reserved parade viewing in the past. @joseph821 can you confirm? I believe they normally put benches on the lower brick area.

1745799951011.png

If so, the first parade starts at the checkered gate under the red arrow. The second parade ends there. The area for reserved viewing is on the far right of the picture in front of the steps.

1745800266589.png

The view from those steps is below. The parade passes between the brick on the ground and where the people are standing on the other side of the walkway. Fireworks and projections can be seen from this area.

Yes I can confirm that was the area @LKing

The hub was more difficult to photograph because it was more crowded.

1745802006162.png

The teal area in the picture above looks like the following. There is a slight incline towards the Partners Statue.

1745802121399.png

This is the view in the other direction. It is the best viewing for fireworks but the parade turns before it gets to this area. The brick area is reserved during fireworks. I'm not sure which groups (VIP?) get to use those seats.

1745802439049.png

The purple area in the drawing above looks like this. I don't remember exactly how they push these benches together, but there is a reserved viewing in this region.

The parade comes in this direction. Not only do you get to see the parade come towards you and turn, but this location is the closest to the castle if you want to watch fireworks afterwards.

Awesome picturesThe 2 sites closer to fantasyland definitely would be impressive.

I've read a few reviews of the Halloween tour that had a reserved spot in front of the castle, ione from mickeyvisits

Granted this area wouldn't work because its opposite side of hub to the parade. But would be pretty cool to be on the other side, and just turn for the fireworks show. Overall the halloween tour also sounds very similar to the 70th, with a similar itinerary and souvenir.

Wow, we booked the 9:15 AM tour - I am a morning person, no way I will be up for the 10:45 pm parade. I live on the East Coast, so that would be 1:15 AM in my brain :( Oh well, I can skip the parade and popcorn. My sleep is more important.

I honestly think that there is some sort of miscommunication. CM are probably speculating based on how other tours/parade viewings were handled. Most parades are during the day. It is a different story when the parades are in the evening, especially as late as PTN. I also don't think they are taking the timing of fireworks into account. While the tour doesn't include fireworks, as you can see in this thread, it is a priority for most guests.

I agree. It seems inconceivable to me that a tour advertised as including parade viewing would force people to wait until 10:45 pm.

I think it comes down to logistics. They haven't had an evening parade in DL park for a few years, and this particular parade was last in DL Park in 2016!

Did they do a similar reserved viewing area for the last run of MSEP?

The PTN package for sure says 1st performance:

Paint the Night Dining Package

Savor a scrumptious lunch at Plaza Inn with an all-in-one meal package that comes with reserved viewing for Paint the Night—a dazzling nighttime parade at Disneyland Park—in honor of the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration!

Dining Dates and Times

  • May 16 to August 21, 2025
  • Dining Time: 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
  • Showtime: All Guests will receive a voucher for the day’s first performance of the Paint the Night parade.

During the Holiday Time tours given in 2024, the guests were given an option of which parade they wanted to attend. Hopefully that will be the same for this tour.
