Good morning ladies (well it's morning here anyway :) ) Lovely outfits as usual :)

I was lying in bed last night thinking..... I have 2 girls, 14 days in anaheim with a 14 day disneyland pass, and a week in hawaii - so that is about 21 days in total and a girl can't be seen in the same outfit twice sooo..... I wonder if I need to make 42 custom outfits  :cool2:

Luckily I have about 20months to do it - so just over 2 outfits a month. Gee better get my bum into gear lol :)

Ok, this was my first time with CarlaC'S a-line jumper. I bought the fabric at the end of last summer really cheap. This is the before picture. After this we went to Jacob's soccer game and she got mud on her knees. If I can't get it out, I guess I'll have to add some patches to cover. I was so mad!

That is cute steph- Sorry about the mud- You'll have to "scotch guard" her next time!!
Oh man, I thought I was going crazy trying to find the old thread. I'm so glad I found this one but with over 120 pages, I'm going to have to accept that I'll never get caught up. Hopefully people will remember me since I feel I was gone so long! I needed to get back here because it's official - we're going to Disneyland in May. We don't have the specific dates or reservations yet but both sisters & brothers-in-law plus a few of their adult kids have committed to the trip. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to make all new outfits for Zoe or just have her wear the ones she has. So far she hasn't been to Disney in any of them but it's so tempting to make all new. I guess a lot will depend on how much time I find to sew for her.
:yay: :yay: So glad you found us again- You too Calypso!!! Are your puppies getting Big??
And :woohoo: For Disneyland!!!

Thanks Heather- I think I might give it a try- I'll be the experimenter.

I won't be doing either- I'll be working!!
It's about that time so Have a great day!!

oh that always irritates me when you get some work in and then it gets messed up quickly!
Love the fabric

UtahMama(me), Spongemommie, and Jham (Jhammie) and our girls went to the Hannah Montana concert/movie last night. They have tons of pics too. NO, we didn't make any outfits since it's FREEZING cold. So I think we all went to Walmart for cute outfits since that seems to be Hannah Montana Central these days!

We went to the Mayan Restaurant first which has a Tiki-Room, Lion King, meets Indiana Jones (the ride) queue vibe to it.

Don't know when I've had more fun!!!!!

Hardly any of my photos turned out non-blurry, so I hope there's turned out. Here's some of the kids (mostly Norah...sorry :lovestruc )

Misty and Jeanne took pictures too. Hopefully none will include my double chin?

Cute pictures! I'll try to get some on eventually. I'm having people over for dinner so I'm sure I'll be watching not sewing.

This turned out very cute! I have that pattern on my wish list, now I really want it! If only DH would let me spend money. :headache:

for someone to explain the way you make the peasant top/ dress shirts out of the pillowcases from Wal-mart. :worship: :worship: Please pm me or post!
TIA!

Very cute, bummer about the grass stains.

I saw this, too. How did you cut out the top part? I might try to attempt this. Was it very hard?

I measured across dd's shoulders to get the outside width & then I measured from the base of her neck to the outside of her shoulders & around her neck (3 measurements). I just happened to have a plate that was exactly the same width as her shoulders so I used that for the outside of the circle & then I used another one for the inside (I just picked about how wide I wanted the band to be & made sure that would leave enough room around her neck). I cut about 1/3 of the circle out & used the 2/3 for the back part & then folded under about an inch on each side of it & used it again as the front. I cut 2 of each piece & sewed them together & then turned right side out & folded the ends in & sewed the ends closed. The front got buttons & the back got the holes.

For the skirt part & used double her chest measurement & pleated it & then attached to the circle band. I used bias tape for the armholes & did that before I attached the band. I realy wanted to somehow get the raw pleated edge inside the band, but I couldn't figure out how.

Yes, they are! Since you asked, here is a shameless post of the babies! Enjoy!

omg!!!! how cute and big they are getting it makes me wanna breed my Daizie earlier but we are gonna wait till fallish .:lovestruc
What is another photo uploader besides photobucket?

I think it looks great! That is very pretty fabric. I was at JoAnn's and bought some Simplicity patterns because they were on sale for $1.99. I got this one for Megan and thought of you:

th_3513.jpg

That's really cute pattern.

Hobby Lobby has I think it's Simplicity on sale for $1.99 this week.

Ooops! I did it, I called Tessa Lydia! :headache: Well, at least I didn't call her Sawyer! I call the kids the wrong names all the time, even called Megan the dog's name!

I have called Sawyer Foster before, actually, so has Heather! Foster is my cat. :rotfl2: So, we understand! In her defense though, Heather was still pregnant for Sawyer when she did that! I have many times called Lydia Tessa too. And, I call Corey David, and Arminda Heather. I won't tell you what I call Brian though!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

About a week or so ago someone (a person that when I read her posts reminds me of me and my sis, as we are sooo close and are even on some sites together) mentioned this thread to me. I am new here, but actually read some of the posts on the other threads wayyyy before I registered. So glad I was told about this thread...it seems everyone here is so kindddddddd. I have enjoyed reading about everyone and their families. I have a WONDERFUL husband and 2 super children, but of course, I have my issues so this site is a great distraction. I belong to some other sites that are funn, but must admit this is the warmest thread I have ever seen.

OMGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!
I have never seen such great women in my life....wow, I would love to be as creative as u all. Every single thing I have seen it beautiful. I keep showing my DD (8) everything I see...she wants it all!!!

I did some sewing in hs, and loved it. And then a few years after hs bought a sewing maching....which was approx 1990 And u guessed it, I have barely touched it since. :confused3

:cutie: Well Anyway Great Work everyone!!! :cutie:

I'm glad you posted!!!! And, what wonderful sweet things you had to say about us all! I have to agree though, this is without a doubt the friendliest bunch I have ever posted with! :lovestruc

I'm way behind, but I had to comment on this! When I tell my girls to get something (jammies, socks, whatever.....) they automatically go to my bedroom and look for their "pile" on my floor. If they don't have a "pile" (which is very rare!) they almost don't know what to do! I don't mind doing laundry and I don't mind folding it, but I HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! putting it away!

I'm way behind too! And, We have the same situation with the laundry! If I put it in their drawers, they NEVER find it! :rotfl2: I actually have piles for everyone in the basement! They all know where their pile is, so they check there first. I HATE to put laundry away! I could actually make a lot more space in our bedrooms by taking out the dressers! It's not like we use them anyways!

I decided to start sewing some things for this year's trip, since I went through my pictures from last year and really wasn't happy with the pictures of the stuff that I made. This is the first outfit I made:

I have two more that are done that I will post tonight. You guys really inspire me. All this sewing has been my relaxing time lately. My grandfather has been in the hospital the past two weeks, my dad is having some tests done, I have to go for an MRI on Wed. and my 4 yo dd is being evaluated for a bunch of different things we are waiting to hear about. I haven't been sleeping well and this has been the only thing that helps me just not think about everything else :) Sorry for the book!!

VERY VERY cute!!! And, I'm sorry you have so much illness going on in your family. I hope everyone is ok, and the doctors figure out what's going on.

Sorry I'm not commenting on every outfit today, I'm not feeling well at all, so I'm doing some skimming! But, there are some really cute outfits posted!!!

Steph, that is so cute! Now I have to add that to the list of patterns that I need to get!
I am partial to butterflies! Love the fabric choices!

I just wanted to say that I love seeing all the new outfits/creations..they are all beautiful! I have been working on couple things, so hopefully I will have some pictures to share soon.

The post about "bangs" and "fringe" reminded me of something. In Malaysia, we call "bangs", "fringe" as well...when I first came here, people would look at me funny when I said "fringe". When I was in high school, one of my friends yelled out at the library to one of the guys (we were all working on some assignments together)..."hey, I need a rubber!". He looked up with a puzzled look on his face and said "What?" and she said again, and louder the second time.."do you have a rubber?" In Malaysia, rubber meant eraser but most have no idea that rubber means a totally different thing around here. Thankfully, my older brother who had been overseas for a few years at the time worn me to never ever refer to an eraser as "Rubber" because it meant something else here! LOL
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

They must have been a new arrival because they were really thick bolts and one still had a piece of masking tape on it. They were in the Novelty cotton section. Not on sale, unfortunately, regular price of $8.99 a yard :scared1: but since I was only going to make one skirt...not too bad!! At least all 5 of my DGDs are not on a cheer squad..:lmao: :rotfl2: Nana
Yes Nana, but we did sign Madison up for the flag squad come this fall!!!

Ok, I'm needing ideas. SOmething is missing from these dresses, any ideas? There is actually 2 of each.

OK, Here is my first attempt at posting photos on the DIS and my first contribution to the DISboutique!

Backstory - DD9 wanted to learn how to sew for Girl Scouts so I figured it was time to teach her!

Here are her PJ pants that she made herself (her first project)! She picked the fabric herself.

That's it for now. Hope you like them! We had fun creating!

I'll catch up on reading the thread later today or tomorrow!

OMG - it took me ALL weekend to catch up on this thread from page 27 to the current page 131 (it was in the 120s when I started the catch-up). There are some awesome new outfits posted, but quite frankly, it's all a blur now!!!

Hopefully, I can stay caught up now!!! And, I'll have to get a pic of the girls in their new VD outfits from Nana.

:goodvibes I whipped this up for my little Dachshund

IMG_5673.jpg

IMG_5672.jpg

I think it fits the Schnauzer better. . .
IMG_5675.jpg

I think I will try to make something smaller for the Dachshund.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a darling Black and Tan Doxie!!! (schnauzer is darling too!) I have a black and tan myself and I think they are just the most handsome animals on the planet!!!

fur babies are fun to sew for too!!!!

I have decided my next project will be to make a couple empire waist type twirly jumpers- I finally bought a pillow case to try that out and decided that dd is to little for it to be on the bodice so I will put the applique on the skirt part- Has anyone done that yet?? I bought Dora cuz' I have had Dora fabric for a REALLY long time and since I have no disney trips planned I will make her. I plan to use the other side for a jumper for my cousins dd- who is 4 1/2 but wears 7/8 size clothes so I will have to get measurements or a pattern to do hers. Any suggestions for any quick and easy ones?? I am excited to make something a little bigger then usual!!

This is the exact reason I haven't done my pillowcase dresses yet either. I am soooo afraid that I will have to cut off too much of the face for the bodice.

I think I may have planted a little seed (of hope) on a Disney vacation. Its a long way off but I am hoping/planning on Nov of 2009????!!!!! :confused3
We would go with another family and share a house for 9 nights....count em....9!!!!! Here's our house :cool1:

Woohoo on a future trip. I am hoping for 2009 too!

hi! i just finished looking thru the photobucket link. i wondered if anyone has made any ariel customs? i didn't see any posted. dd is dancing to "part of your world" for her solo this year in dance, and i'd love to have a custom designed for her. i'm no good with coming up with ideas, so i was looking there for inspiration. can anyone help?

well this is the only ariel thing I have. not really for dance but its cute non the less. haha

Kell....that's what I am doing...storing it away and dreaming!! I will have to renew my TGM subscription too! All I have to do is save $70 a week. I was thinking of sewing an outfit a week and selling it???? I don't know if I sew well enough to actually do that. I don't have a serger or an embroidary machine or anything...and my kids couldn't care-a-less about the mistakes I make. Someone paying for it would!!! :rotfl2:

I am sure that people will buy things. that is what i do with my knitting stuff! and my paper crafts. go for it.

so whom is sewing during the super bowl and whom is watching?

Both! hahaha I am very bummed since the Giants beat out my Packers...BUT I am on their side for this game, and this game only. haha

Ok, I'm needing ideas. SOmething is missing from these dresses, any ideas? There is actually 2 of each.

P1020805.jpg

what about some matching ribbon on the sleeves, or if you have any left over fabric maybe a little patch or something on the chest. OR, you could make a ribbon where the top and bottom meet.
