Wow....pizza dough from oatmeal?? Who woulda thought!!?? I would love to see the recipe Heather!!! Thanks!
I've had a couple of people PM me for the "recipe"(you'll see why that's in quotes in a minute), so I'll post it on here, too.
I'm not sure on the exact proportions, so I'll just tell you what she did. She put some dry oatmeal in the blender until it was about the consistency of flour. Then, she just used that in place of flour in her pizza dough recipe! She just dissolved the yeast in water and added the oatmeal "flour". It didn't really rise, but she wasn't sure if that was because the yeast was too old. She then rolled it onto a pizza pan (about 1/4 inch thick) and cooked it at 350 for 13 minutes. She took it out of the oven and topped it with a homemade pizza sauce (don't know what was in it besides tomato paste and some seasonings) then topped it with veggies and just a smidge of parmesan cheese. She cooked it about 5 minutes more. Voila! Core pizza!
where is everyone tonight?
I was doing a little sewing, a little cleaning, and a little spending time with my kids and Henry!
When I was in high school, one of my friends yelled out at the library to one of the guys (we were all working on some assignments together)..."hey, I need a rubber!". He looked up with a puzzled look on his face and said "What?" and she said again, and louder the second time.."do you have a rubber?" In Malaysia, rubber meant eraser but most have no idea that rubber means a totally different thing around here. Thankfully, my older brother who had been overseas for a few years at the time worn me to never ever refer to an eraser as "Rubber" because it meant something else here! LOL
This is very similar to an experience I had in high school! We had a foreign exchange teacher, in 11th grade, from England named Ms. Nugent. Anyway, she was teaching in front of the class and wanted to erase something from the chalkboard (yes, we had chalkboards back then) and she said "Did someone take my rubber?" The whole class was rolling on the floor.

Poor Ms. Nugent!
All of this. Some of it was on sale.
What a bunch of great stuff! That pattern looks really cute! I can't wait to see what you do with it!
I have decided my next project will be to make a couple empire waist type twirly jumpers- I finally bought a pillow case to try that out and decided that dd is to little for it to be on the bodice so I will put the applique on the skirt part- Has anyone done that yet?? I bought Dora cuz' I have had Dora fabric for a REALLY long time and since I have no disney trips planned I will make her. I plan to use the other side for a jumper for my cousins dd- who is 4 1/2 but wears 7/8 size clothes so I will have to get measurements or a pattern to do hers. Any suggestions for any quick and easy ones?? I am excited to make something a little bigger then usual!!
I don't think anyone has put the pillowcase panel on the bottom of a gathered skirt. But, I think that might be because the panels are pretty stiff once you back them with heat 'n bond. It might not work very well on a gathered skirt.
So this might be a completely idiotic question to all you professionals, but I'm really confused. I'm following these directions to make a twirl skirt...
http://www.home.earthlink.net/~cornpatchcreations/twirlyskirt.htm
I'm not sure if the fabric is supposed to be two layers. I just cut the first and third layer of the twirl skirt and if you unfold them they are way longer than they are supposed to be. I'm not sure if that is right.
I'm not exactly sure if this is what you're asking. But, if the waist measurement is 20", then the first tier should be 30" wide, the second tier should be 45"-60" wide, and the third tier should be 67.5"-90" wide. If you want it to be extra twirly, I'd make the first tier 40" wide (or double the waist measurement) and continue doubling that measurement. HTH!
Today I was working on the second V.D. set
and the other thing I have been doing is a little secret research....Disney style of course!
I think I may have planted a little seed (of hope) on a Disney vacation. Its a long way off but I am hoping/planning on Nov of 2009????!!!!!
We would go with another family and share a house for 9 nights....count em....9!!!!! Here's our house
http://www.themagicorlandorental.com/palace.html
Its obnoxiously Disney and quite close by...I've actually been there (Windsor Hills). And a home away from home is very appealing to all of us!
So we shall see if this ever happens....I am trying not to get my hopes up!
I can't help but remember what VD stood for back when I was in school!
That house is FANTASTIC!!!!!! I LOVE the princess bedroom and the master bedroom with that huge canopy bed!
I wonder if there is any chance we could have the old thread temporarily so we could copy and paste info from the thread before we lose it forever.
That's all we're asking for! But, the powers that be have not brought it back yet!
Holy smokes! That house is amazingly awesome! Heck I would love to be in the Mickey room. hahaha I checked the rates, and that is not too bad. totally another way to go! Into the idea bank for our planning for our first WDW trip in two years.
If you don't care about the Disney theming, you can get a house similar in size for less than 1/2 the price! Teresa and I are renting 5 bedroom/ 3 bath houses for $500/week (plus taxes and cleaning fees).
hi! i just finished looking thru the photobucket link. i wondered if anyone has made any ariel customs? i didn't see any posted. dd is dancing to "part of your world" for her solo this year in dance, and i'd love to have a custom designed for her. i'm no good with coming up with ideas, so i was looking there for inspiration. can anyone help?
I was going to answer you and then saw that Steph put the link on here for yah.
The photobucket site is a little hard to navigate. We're thinking of making a few less categories, so there's less clicking. What does everyone think of that?
These are so cute! I am quite certain Megan would not keep them on her head. Emily always has the cutest head!
This sent me into a fit of giggles!!
It's true, but such a funny way to phrase it! You cracky me up!
so whom is sewing during the super bowl and whom is watching?
I'd love to be sewing, but I will most likely be doing neither! Henry's grandma is supposed to come over to see our new dog and I have to get some groceries sometime today. We are seriously low on sustenance.
