I love the purse! The first thing that I saw that I liked was how the handles really seemed to go with the owl theme! Great job!

2.)I've never had a pedicure either. I wouldn't want anyone looking that closely at my ugly feet!! But, before I had each of my kids, I made sure I painted my toes a nice bright red! The doctor and nurses were amazed that I could reach my toes. :rotfl2:

I have never had a pedi and NEVER will! I have a whole foot thing going on. For the birth of all three of my kids, I WORE SOCKS! I even went and bought new socks, so they were pretty white!:rotfl2:
OK we are under a severe ts watch and tornado watch her in NJ...that includes you Miss Cammie. I don't have a basement or plan B if I see it coming. I am going to go sew now so if I die, I die happy! :lmao: See siggy for after I die! ;)

I hope you made it okay. I pretty sure if I go sew during a storm I WILL get struck by lightning...you know old metal 1950's singer!

Wanted to share from Katie's recital last night. PHEW! Kinda glad that stress is over! (not really!) She did great and had a great time...probably the best time ever! This is her 6th year in dance...that's what the trophy is for.:thumbsup2

Wow you ladies need to slow down so I can catch up lol. Princess is leaving us on Tuesday so I will probably just be lurking until then.

Question has anyone ordered fabric from Asia? Wondering about the quality?

Enjoy your time with Princess.

I have ordered fabric from Asia, the lady I order from in Asia is very nice and answers questions very quickly. The fabric is a cotton/mystery (maybe poly) blend and does not feel the softest or smell the nicest but after washing it is fine. It will never feel as nice as quilt shop fabric, but it is cute and works for special outfits. HTH!

Hi everyone! Love all of the Crayon rolls. They look great. I need to try one of those. This is a dress that I had the fabric for, but just never did anything with it. last night I cut it out and this morning sewed it up.

One dress is for Ireland, but she didn't want her picture taken, she's doing her spongebob stickers...LOL

Ps...Lexie and out kitty got into a fight this morning...the kitty won..now Lexie has a gash on her arm that required skin glue. It's little, but it was gaping open. Poor girl..

are your eyes deaf too? :snooty: and I don't really believe you about that scanner. Maybe we need to send a letter to Miss Cammie's mom?

I can't quite make out what your saying...eyes seem to be losing strength...as well...

*ahem*

;)

Well MY mom wouldn't even KNOW where the pictures are b/c MY grandma has the pictures SO THERE!

actually I have no idea where a lot of that stuff is. I know where a lot of my crowns and such are...sashes and trophies are in a case at grandma's I think...? Younger cuter grandkids came along...I was forgotten...;) though none of them did pageants...weren't disciplined enough...didn't have my sass and stage presence...

:rotfl2:

actually one younger cousin did do some pageants but she HATED it. Lasted half a season I think.

gotta be TOUGH!!!:cool2:

Teresa: Our Wal Mart did not have the snore stop pillow. Do you know what brand it is? I desperately need one!

Confession: When Jacob was a baby people constantly told us he should be a model so we entered him in one of those baby pageants. He did not win (one of the regulars did, we didn't know anything about anything) but he did get a big trophy. We tease him about it from time to time.

a snore stop pillow huh? I have a GREAT snore stop solution...you SHAKE your husband REALLY hard and holler at him to STOP IT! Then throw a pillow on his head.

it works wonders...

seriously.

it does.

::yes::

Okay HOW DARLING was Jacob in pageants?! I'll bet if y'all had done a few he would have started winning. It takes a bit to learn the ropes and such. There are cliques sometimes and the same kids tend to win. Super fair are pageants! Both your kids are darling though...I can see Miss Megan in a foofy dress, priss walking on the stage! She'd be great at it!!!

I LOVE the flamingo dress...love it. Enough to come to your house and hand you money to make one for Sally. Seriously cute.

do your girls like halter dresses and tops okay or do they prefer non halter? Sally can fuss about halters sometimes...if they pull.

love the parrot dresses too...VERY Jimmy Buffett!!!!

Poor Lexie...kitty was mean. We had a cat like that...Molly. She would attack us...and the dog...but that was mostly b/c my little sister terrorized her when she was a kitten...spinning her in circles and dressing her up. My mom always got after her to stop it, but Molly had to take matters in to her own hands. Our dog was TERRIFIED of her.

Why are my bleeping pictures sideways?!?!?!?!? :confused3 I swear I hate computers!!!:badpc: I know...it is the user's fault!

My lovely son just pointed out to me that "Mom, we only have 14 days till Disney but only 12 Days till we leave!" :scared1: Must spend all of today sewing and maybe post some sideways pitcures for you guys to see!:lmao:

I have often found that placing your foot squarely in the center of your husbands back and pushing as hard as possible works! Once he hits the floor gets up gives you a look and takes his pillow to the couch...no more snoring...in the room where I am soundly sleeping!:lmao:

They haven't complained about the halters..just Lexie doesn't like her "back out" as she calls it. She's just getting used to that style. I really like the bodice of the flamingo dress. It fit her perfectly. It was a daisy kingdom pattern. I will be using that bodice again for sure.

ok I finished my BIG GIVE outfit. I am a little worried about it though. I think it is too small. When Jenna gets up I will try it on her and see if it fits. I hope it does, because I had some problems making this dress.

Now they are not sideways...WHY!!!!!!:headache:  Are the computer mice trying to make me crazy?!?!?:hyper:

mine do this too, and I have no idea why. Refreshing photobucket after I post usually fixes it, don't ask me why:confused3

Linette your big give outfits are FAB!!!!! I wish I could do that without a pattern!!:worship:

I am trying my first multi- peice appliuqe today. Wish me luck!

She is too cute and congratulations on the trophy.

Cute stuff. I love that Daisy Kingdom pattern. I used it twice and Jenna didn't like either of the outfits. :( Poor Lexie losing a fight with the kitty.

your poor sister! I do NOT blame her! Those things freak me out! I got cut one time and I forbid cuticle cutting ever since!

When I lived in Manhattan I got a mani/pedi every week. We HAD to. My boss required it of us. Not kidding. so I got REALLY good about saying NO to cuticle clipping and the scary razor thing they would use on people's callouses! The lady I saw every week got to know what I would and would not allow and she'd always hold up the forbidden instruments and say "nah-nah-nah! yes?"

Oh I HATE that razor thing... it scares me. I always tell them to leave my callouses alone - I found out the hard way when training for a marathon that removing callouses invites blisters when running!!

The ladies at my usual salon are finally getting used to how ticklish I am - almost any touching of the bottom of my feet causes an involuntary kicking and giggling reflex. Oh yeah - they LOVE me!! :rotfl2:

Here's my little project for the BIG GIVE. I used Crayola twistable colored pencils because the details are too small on the 4x6 coloring pages for regular crayons and these are nice because you don't have to worry about having a pencil sharpener.

I'm all caught up again - I think I really need to start paying a daily visit (or 3 or 4 visits) to the dis :) I guess when I'm on everyone else is asleep or doing other stuff lol so I don't get a chance to get chatty :( I love chatty hehe- darn time difference - BTW it's 1pmish here on Sunday just incase anyone was interested :rolleyes1

Flea - I'm so glad to see you posted... I was just telling my mom about those adorable knit/crochet pants you posted some time ago (that was you - right??). She loved the idea and wanted to know if you use a pattern for them and if so, where you found it. She has really gotten back into crocheting lately.

This is a dress that I had the fabric for, but just never did anything with it. last night I cut it out and this morning sewed it up.
th_IrelandandLexieChristmas20072368.jpg

So cute - I just bought that fabric last weekend. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but it was the first I had seen it and there was just over a yard left so I HAD to have it. :rotfl:

BIG GIVERS!!!!
Your outfits are amazing! What an inspiration you are!

Of course, this is the disboutique board and EVERYONE'S outfits are amazing!

YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

*delurks* Hi guys :wave2: I found this thread recently and love looking at all your creations but, although I sew myself, i've been a little hesitant to share any pictures: I don't have kids yet so I just sew for myself, family and friends and i've only ever made baby blankets as far as kid stuff goes but if no-one minds me being a bit off-topic (I know this thread is mainly for kids clothes) i'd be happy to join in :goodvibes I especially like all the appliques posted on here, something i'd like to start doing ::yes:: I have at least three baby gifts to make this year and have some cute ideas for them :cloud9:

That looks great!!!! Just curious..what size did you make? I think I am going to use one of CarlaC's pattern for the BIG GIVE...either the stripwork jumper or the simply sweet dresses pattern...and thinking of doing it in a size 6.

Well lots of people have been looking for ideas for adult clothes so please feel free to share what you have made and :welcome: to the Disboutique.

I used the CarlaC Simply Sweet top for the bodice. I just made it longer and I used the Flounce skirt pattern for the skirt part. All of the pieces were cut for a size 6.

Just to let you know I used Simply sweet in a size 6 and lengthened 1 inch for my big give outfit. It seemed to fit ok so you should be ok!

They were charms, not beads. I believe most of them had a lobster claw attached so you could clip them on or you could attach them in other ways. They had a TON, at least 2 different ones of each princess I think? They had the coolest 3-dimensional glass slipper that was light blue and glittery. They had a mickey head, a minnie head, a little Minnie in her blue dot skirt w/the daisy hat  Pooh bear and OH--I loved this one--the Evil Queen! They were up at the register as I was checking out so I really didn't have time to inventory them :rotfl: They also had a ton of Hello Kitty. Most of them were around the size of a penny. Sadly, they were $5 each  Let me know if you are interested. I'm sure they wouldn't mind me taking a photo to show you, although that store is a dangerous place for me to go! :lmao:

I may be PMing you! So cool!

Wanted to share from Katie's recital last night. PHEW! Kinda glad that stress is over! (not really!) She did great and had a great time...probably the best time ever! This is her 6th year in dance...that's what the trophy is for.:thumbsup2
