Peasant top help needed! I am now ready to stitch up the sides and sleeve. Not sure of the right wording here, but do I stitch up the side seam, pivot and do the sleeve in one motion? I hope I asked that right.:flower3:

teresajoy and heather::hug: glad you are back from your trip(you can tell that I am behind reading the post!!)

I've been busy sewing for the girls from the school... I made 3 outfits(sorry forgot to take pictures:furious: ) and talking about headaches mines have gotten worse again so more talks of spinal taps:faint: :faint: :faint: Linnette

Thanks for the welcome home Linnette!

I hope you are ok!

I was skimming back through the thread to find the pictures that I couldn't see on my Blackberry while I was gone and Jenna saw this picture and said, "Awww!! Isn't she cute! She looks just like me." I had to laugh because they kind of do resemble each other a little bit.

She does, doesn't she!

That's the only way I have found to do it. If I am wrong someone please correct me, but if i don't do it this way I end up with a gap in the underarm.

That's how I do it, but I usually start at the sleeve, pivot and go down the side! Same thing, different starting point!

I got a story that just stinks too. My cousin...a real toot in my opinion...did not invite my children to her wedding. It was a no-kids thing. That's cool. I have great in-laws who babysat for the night while I went to Atlanta. Anyhoo. We go to the reception and there are 5-8 kids running around.

Huh? :confused3 Turns out, she selectively invited children and mine didn't make the cut. Guess what else? She has never even seen my kids. Too bad for her. Because they adorable and gobs cuter thanher stinkers.

Hmmmm. Maybe I am the toot in this family!:rotfl:

BTW, I couldn't stay away. Love you guys!

Now THAT is just plain RUDE. I mean my step kids were IN the wedding...and we had to show proof of insurance for them to even be on the property!

but to pick and choose...ew. That's just BEGGING for a family fight!!

I DIED laughing at the term "toot"...:rotfl2: In Texas we call people POOTS!:lmao:

Since everyone is talking about Donald Duck outfit, I am going to share mine although it is pretty simple, and I am not even sure if I like how it looks especially the bows. I just couldn't make a bow that looks right! I actually made this a while ago for our trip next month. DS is going to wear this for breakfast at Tusker house. Here he is modeling the outfit...

I really wanted to put a pre-made applique of Donald Duck on the front, but dh doesn't want me to. I shudder just to think of how dirty that pair of white pants will get...I think I am bringing a change of clothes to AK.

oh my GOODNESS!!! Donald is my FAVORITE!! That outfit is SO stinkin CUTE!!!

I am new here what is the Big Give?

Also I live in a small town and cannot find any Fabric stores near by. Our wal mart dosnt have a craft section. :furious: Just needed to vent :rotfl:

oh the big city people are feeling it too!!!

I live in NORTHERN NEW JERSEY and there aren't any fabric stores around here either!!! The Wally World selections are pathetic at BEST.

When I was grumping about it to my husband, my step daughter patted my arm and said "Well it's because we just buy our clothes already sewed in stores..."

city kids.

:lmao:

I'm really impressed with all of the Big Give outfits that've been posted. That's such a wonderful project you are all involved in!

Teresa ~ (I think it was you) Has your cat come back yet? I've been thinking about that and haven't seen an update. Maybe I missed it.

If you are willing to drive to Douglasville then we have a JoAnn's and our WalMart on Highway 5 has a fabric department. Wal-Mart in Villa Rica also has fabric.

THe Big Give is a little project we are working on making some outfits for a lady and her daughter who lost her son last year in a car accident

I can't seem to get in to the photobucket account. Anyone else having a problem?

Never mind, it's working now.

It's hanging a little askew and it could use a little ironing. I used Carla's Simply Sweet halter dress pattern and easy fit pants. Isabelle said she liked this fabric and it was one I knew I could find. I did the adjustable/buttonhole elastic in the waist again and this time I made a buttonhole for it to stick out of on the inside of the waistband. I'm getting better at that!

princessmom29, I would love to make a bracelet to match your cute outfit. Let me know if you don't have one.

Zofia was standing here when I scrolled down to your post, and she said "Mommy I love those bows and that dress, and I want you to make it for me."
It came out perfect! I think Isabelle will love it!

Hey ladies and Tom! I haven't posted in the last few days because I haven't been home much. Hopefully I'll be around more tomorrow. I don't know if Teresa's already posted this, but our SIL, Barbara, is scheduled for a mastectomy tomorrow morning at 8:00am. Prayers and/or good thoughts sent her way would be greatly appreciated. :goodvibes

I wanted to thank everyone for all of the wonderful and sweet PMs I have received in the last few days. Thank you, you guys are so great!:grouphug:

Yep, that's how I do it.

Chantelle: Teresa's cat hasn't come back yet. :worried:

Thank you so much for asking. No, my kitty (Foster Tarp)hasn't come back. It sounds silly, but I REALLY love my kitty, like most people love their dogs. Today, Lydia and I got really excited, because we thought we heard him scratching at the back door. But, when we went to look, the wind had knocked over our outdoor canopy, and it was hitting the door. I just sat down and cried. :worried:

I keep telling myself that he might come back, or that maybe someone found him and is giving him a good home. Brian spent two hours after work the other day going around looking for him. He's a good man.

I am really sorry about your kitty. My kitty went missing a couple times. He would be gone for a whole week each time. But he came back. Someone else was feeding him and taking care of him because he was neat and clean despite a lot of rain. I hope you find him soon.

I am sooo sorry that happened!!! I had a cat I was `very attached to. I had to give her up when I had DD b/c I couldn't keep her out of the crib and she was jealous of the baby.

Thank you all! I thought that is what I was supposed to do but wanted to run it by someone first. That part is done, now to get ready to do the casing. I need to take a break before I go cross eyed.

I was just about to post the same thing. I am so worried about her. :worried: She is my SIL, but she is also my dear dear friend.

Prayers and Pixie Dust for you SIL. I will be thinking of her.

He had a little nametag on him with our phone number. I'm thinking that he could have lost his collar, or people could have tried calling while we were in Florida. We had the phone unhooked, so they couldn't have left a message.

Ok, here is what I found out about Fancy Nancy......

It seems she wears ORANGE shoes!!!!!

A little history here, when Morgan came home from China she had these little pair of ORANGE shoes. She wanted to wear them EVERYWHERE. After she got home, she wanted to wear PURPLE and orange together ALL the time!:3dglasses

Here is a pic at the Detroit airport on the way home from China.
th_morganairport.jpg

NOTE the Orange shoes LOL
How CUTE! Tessa went through an orange phase when she was 2-3. she liked orange and green, and would like to wear them together. Now she is a conformist and likes pink and purple, just like all the other little girls.

Brian shared with me the biggest news in these parts since the announcement of the Walmart going in...

We're getting a Dollar Tree!!!!

WHAT?! And you didn't call me??
