I was just about to post the same thing. I am so worried about her. :worried: She is my SIL, but she is also my dear dear friend.

My first stop tomorrow morning will be the church!! I'm lighting candles for Barbara and your brother and their kids and you and Heather and all y'alls kids...no way our prayers can be missed!!!;)

She's going to do great! I know she will.

Ok, here's the Donald dress on the model & with the sailor hat.

And here's what I've been working on for the last few days. I got the idea for the collar from a link someone posted a few days ago. I still have a few fit adjustments to make, but it's mostly done and it actually came out the way I wanted it to. If I was doing it again, i probably would cut down on the stripes a bit, but I like it & she does too.

Little sister had to pose too.

Whew! Just got caught up. My internet has been down all day so I had to sew :confused3 I finished my Big Give outfit and am working on the bows. I keep forgetting bows are not my thing. :lmao: I had to try it on my model (the closest thing I have around to a size 6 :rolleyes1 ) to get an idea on length and I must say it looked cute on, my model *ahem* was pretty cooperative but drew the line at taking pictures. :rotfl2:
WHAT!?!:scared1: I cannot believe you made that handsome little boy try on a GIRL'S outfit!! I am so glad he was able to stand up for himself and not let you take pictures! :rotfl:

How cute are your kids?! Just adorable! Thanks for posting a picture for Arminda. I have a feeling she'll really like it. :thumbsup2

I am a long-time lurker (since the first thread!) and sewer (since I was 12--*ahem* thirty years ago  ) but have never posted here.

I LOVE all the projects you have all shared :goodvibes I'm gearing up to make some outfits for dd8 before our extended family trip in August---she's the last I can sew for. Dd13 wants to make her own clothes since she's having a hard time finding things she likes at Old Navy and Kohl's etc. She has a definite sense of style but has a hard time being a size 1 or 3 and somewhat modest :goodvibes DsAlmost15 likes a Mickey tie dye shirt...

Anyway, I just want to say HI to the fellow lurker I saw in the Christiana DE JoAnn's today. We were both at the pre-shirred fabric section! I didn't end up buying any----I called home to ask ds to measure dd8 but I didn't quite trust his measurements :lmao:

I did however buy 3 of the $1 patterns for dd8!
:welcome:!! How cool that you met a fellow lurker at JoAnn!

Oh my goodness, they don't come any cuter than that! What beautiful kids you have! The outfits are absolutely adorable, too!

Now I should really go cut out the fabric for the BIG GIVE outfit.

Bonjour les filles

It's me again, I've been trying to get a twirl skirt completed for my DD, she chose some really cool pirate fabric! But then we all were sick, and I had a pinched nerve in my neck . . . Well I'm finally ready to tackle it but my machine is giving me grief!

I was using my Mum's old Kenmore (she bought it in October 1970 and I have the bill to prove it!!) with a ruffler I bought at a sewing machine shop, but it doesn't have any adjustment screws on it, so it's not going well.

Today I was at Wal-Mart and they no longer have a fabric department but they still sell sewing machines! So I bought a Brother XL-2600 on a whim, and I think I like it. But my ruffler doesn't fit. So, does anyone have this machine? Is it OK? Should I hunt down a ruffler for it? I really want to finish this project (I also have pirate shorts for DS and a bunch of Star Wars fabric too!). I can't manually ruffle all the fabric I have carpal tunnel, it's just not possible.

Thanks so much, I can't wait to post my creations!

Since everyone is talking about Donald Duck outfit, I am going to share mine although it is pretty simple, and I am not even sure if I like how it looks especially the bows. I just couldn't make a bow that looks right! I actually made this a while ago for our trip next month. DS is going to wear this for breakfast at Tusker house. Here he is modeling the outfit...

I really wanted to put a pre-made applique of Donald Duck on the front, but dh doesn't want me to. I shudder just to think of how dirty that pair of white pants will get...I think I am bringing a change of clothes to AK.
That is so cute! Donald & Daisy will LOVE it at Tusker House-it is a really fun breakfast!

Hey ladies and Tom! I haven't posted in the last few days because I haven't been home much. Hopefully I'll be around more tomorrow. I don't know if Teresa's already posted this, but our SIL, Barbara, is scheduled for a mastectomy tomorrow morning at 8:00am. Prayers and/or good thoughts sent her way would be greatly appreciated. :goodvibes
Lots of prayers for Barbara.

Thank you so much for asking. No, my kitty (Foster Tarp)hasn't come back. It sounds silly, but I REALLY love my kitty, like most people love their dogs. Today, Lydia and I got really excited, because we thought we heard him scratching at the back door. But, when we went to look, the wind had knocked over our outdoor canopy, and it was hitting the door. I just sat down and cried. :worried:

I keep telling myself that he might come back, or that maybe someone found him and is giving him a good home. Brian spent two hours after work the other day going around looking for him. He's a good man.
:wizard: Hope your kitty finds his way home soon!:wizard:

I wanted to thank everyone for all of the wonderful and sweet PMs I have received in the last few days. Thank you, you guys are so great!:grouphug:

Yep, that's how I do it.

Chantelle: Teresa's cat hasn't come back yet. :worried:

I'll send a prayer up for your whole family.

Question....to sew 3/8" ribbon with polka dots onto my garment should I just sew down the middle or try and sew down either side?

Aw, those look great! I am sewing that outfit right now. It was me that posted the link :) I should be done soon. I'll have Violette model tomorrow :)

I have these exact fabrics that I bought about a month ago. I was planning on making a similar outfit with them!! First that big pink toile and now this! Great minds think alike. ;)

Too funny! Ella and Tessa can be twinkies! I agree - great minds do think alike!! And I will be thinking about and praying for Barbara tomorrow. Keep us updated on how she's doing.

I lost my quotes!!!

I love the sailor outfits!!!

I know what it is like to be attached to a cat. I used to be a cat person. I had many cats that I just loved. My step-dad would put them out at night and sometimes they didn't come back. So after about 5 cats in one year :scared1: he got us a dog. When I got out on my own I wanted cats. I had a black cat up until I found out I was pregnant with Jenna. I had to find him a new home (He ate mice otherwise I wouldn't have gotten rid of him). :( I still miss him. His name was Bishop and he didn't have a spec of white on him.
After that I got dogs. Now I have Tinkerbell and Roxie and I love both of them.

Oh Roxie eats watermellon. It is so funny. I dropped a piece of watermellon on the floor and Roxie picked it up and ran off with it. She ate the whole piece. Now she begs for Jenna's watermellon when she eats it. It's too funny. She is the first dog that I have ever seen that eats watermellon.

I also wanted to add that I got all my fabric and notions to make my BIG GIVE outfit. When I was buying the fabric Jenna decided that she needed one just like it. :rotfl: That girl. I love her so.

Thanks everyone!

I can't wait to see yours. I had a bit of trouble getting the collar attached, but I think I figured it out. I need to attach it a little lower on the dress though so it fits better. (I thought it was you, but I wasn't sure & I couldn't remember how to spell your username.

I forgot to post BAB's sailor dress. Shame on me I know.

Thank you so much! I know it is a bit early to be thinking about this (I am not even due until July!! HA :rotfl: ) But I got some of the Nemo clear vinyl the other day and was just wondering what exactly to do with it to make a raincoat. Now I just need a pattern (or at least one I can Frankenpattern) because I do not work well without a pattern.

Thanks again!!

Jess

Oh that is an awesome idea. May I ask where you found Nemo clear vinyl???

You guys are making me look bad too. I am going to work on a majorly detailed Alice applique for the big give. I have some of my clip art picked and some fabric but still need to decide on pattern and layout of the outfit. I am working on several customs for our beach trip in a few weeks and need to get them done so I can focus on this.

Ohhh I can't wait to see your Alice in Wonderland outfit!!! :cool1:

That's great! I really need to up my applique skills!!! I was sweating the mickey head coming out ok!
I think your Mickey head came out perfect!!! :)

I was wondering - how many outfits will there be total? And do we have any details of the family's trip plans? You can PM me if you feel more comfortable doing that.
I will send you a PM.

I'm really impressed with all of the Big Give outfits that've been posted. That's such a wonderful project you are all involved in!

Thank you, I agree, those who have posted their BIG GIVE outfits already have amazed me too. This project ROCKS!!! :yay:

:)

Ok, here is what I found out about Fancy Nancy......

It seems she wears ORANGE shoes!!!!!

A little history here, when Morgan came home from China she had these little pair of ORANGE shoes. She wanted to wear them EVERYWHERE. After she got home, she wanted to wear PURPLE and orange together ALL the time!:3dglasses

Here is a pic at the Detroit airport on the way home from China.

NOTE the Orange shoes LOL

Awww...baby Morgan is so cute! Love the shoes...and the hair...boy her hair has really grown..

Here is one more set of pj's I made for Noah this weekend. Thanks for letting me share - I don't get to do much for him but he loves all the items I make him and proudly tells everyone his mom made them. :)

Super cool! I love them! Can I ask where you found that fabric? Caleb would love it.

OK. I need HELP! I am going to throw my sewing machine out the window. Seriously. I don't think there's any talking me out of it. I just got it out of the shop about a week ago. I paid $108 replacing the bobbin case, having it serviced, etc. The stupid thing WON'T WORK! The thread keeps getting caught under the feed dogs, and won't let the bobbin thread pull up. I've not even completed the first outfit on it since I had it serviced. I'm SO MAD!

I think I'm just gonna buy a new machine. I want a GOOD ONE! I don't want to buy a new machine every 6 months. I want a machine that is going to hold up and let me sew a lot. Any suggestions for a GOOD machine?

ETA: The machine that is about to fly out the window currently is the Brother XR7700.
