Well I can't log in to the Photobucket account. NOT due to anything Photobucket related. SOMEONE who shall remain nameless (yes Teresa and Heather you met him LOL) in an attempt to "help" DELETED a bunch of things from my computer. I can't log into ebay, hotmail or open a ton of things.

So I am sewing. But I can't show any pictures because I can't log into photobucket! (I can't even get the smilies to load)

MEN! (sorry Tom)

What was that man thinking!!! I would send Corey over to help you figure it out, but that might take awhile. :moped: I hope he gets it all fixed for you soon, we want to see pictures!

I have been trying out my new machine. Here is what I have done.

I really would like the stitching to be more dense but the machine's manual says it isn't adjustable. Does anyone have any tips?

I also want to make a Mickey Head. Is there anyone out there with a Futura Machine to point me in the right direction? I have a Future 150. I didn't get the digitizing software.

I think someone offered to pm me a seller with some Disney Designs?? Is that how I get a Mickey Head?

I need to get my machine out! I think it's looking really nice. Hopefully someone who has actually got an embroidery machine and turned it on can help you out though!

I've only posted a couple of times. I'm not sewing anything, don't really know how to sew much, and don't have time if I did - working entirely too many hours a week, BUT I love fabric, and adorable kids, and Disney, and puppies - and all the other things I get to enjoy here! Thanks for sharing your cute outfits and even cuter, precious children! And I know y'all don't feel like you know me, but I feel like I know so many of you!! And if I ever do decide to sew I definitely know where to come for help.

That is such a sweet thing for someone to do!

Keep up the fantastic work everyone!!!!

It's nice to see you posting!!! And, thanks for the compliments on our kiddos!!! We are a very helpful bunch, so don't hesitate to ask any questions!

Beautiful stuff! I would love the name of the seller please!

So cute! Sorry you had to work though. :sad2:

if you do not mind I would also love the name. I wanted to buy from the people that Shannon bought one for her little one through but they are closed till Sept and we have a trip in Dec. :scared1: Even my DH told me yesterday didn't I think I was slacking because he had seen nothing hiding in the back of our closet for the kids to wear at Disney. :rotfl:

I love that fabric! It is such a cute outfit!

I love your skirt! I have been really working up the nerve to try one. Not sure how it will come out with my lack of sewing skills though so I keep puttin it off. ;)

I think that is a great idea to put the pattern info in!

Tomorrow I am going to try and add the few things I had on the old site up. I am to tired tonight to go much further and the sad thing is I got nothing accoplished today lol. :upsidedow
My skirt was really easy. I am not all that great either. The trick is to square up the panels as you cut them. Then they go together just fine(learned that the hard way)

I love the storybook dress. Great job. I really like the way you put a panel on the top.

You guys are so cute! Great job on the Wendy Costume.

Thanks for the compliment! I am glad someone said they liked it b/c I wasn't sure about it when I did it.

I bought fabric for my big give outfit today!!!! I can wait to start sewing, but it haqs to wait utill my house gets clean!!!:(

Hello everyone
Went away camping for the weekend (it was not a long weekend up here) and missed about 30 pages. Whoa! What a lot of "stuff". Kinda glad I missed it.
It raised my blood pressure just reading about it.
Glad to see that things are sorted out.
I'll figure out the new account later.
We had a beautiful weekend up here camping in the sunshine. We bought a tent trailer last year but never got to try it out as dh was in a car accident. So, this was our first run with it. We had a lot of fun.
It was just dh and the kids and I. The two developmentally disabled ladies who live with us were off at church camp so we took advantage of the time to get away and give the kids our full attention. We went to a campground close by. Not exactly wilderness (not by any means) but it was important to still have 911 service just in case I went into labour. After spending several hours last weekend in hospital in false labour, we couldn't take any chances.
I'll try to pull up some photos later.
Have a great day!!!

Are you using embroidery thread? I have the Disney brother and I will say I get better results if I use regular thread. It does not have as nice of a shine as the madera thread I have (and I have a lot), but I get a nice dense stitch. I have also been known to embroider right over top of a word, if it doesn’t look quite right to me. I just don't move anything, put it back in the starting position and re-embroider. I have never had a problem. I am no expert by any means, but this has worked for me in the past. HTH :goodvibes

It sounds like you had a nice weekend!! I hope you were able to rest. We would love to see some pictures! It looks like you and Benita will have babies about the same age!

I am using the Sulkey embroidery thread. I may have to try regular thread though.

I thought about embroidering it again but I was too chicken. I think I may try that. I guess you can always just take it out with the seam ripper.

HeatherSue, disneylovinfamily, Dreamer & Wisher, MouseTriper Thank you! I'm sorry if I missed anyone. I must admit, I skimmed the last several pages. But I appreciate the kind thoughts. I haven't heard anything, but I imagine no news is good news. Or at least neutral news. Scott is going to see Papa Tom tonight.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, calm, relaxing day. :flower3:

I'll PM you some of my favorite sellers. That's where I've gotton my designs. I've not learned to digitize, so I have to buy all of my designs right now. There are several out there that offer great stuff!

Are you using the font that is pre-loaded in the Futura? I'm not a real fan of those fonts. They seem to not stitch real well for me. I've ended up buying several fonts to use that I like. Be warned - this can get expensive!

WOW! Those are great tips! I'll have to remember both of them. I've not tried using regular thread, or embroidering a second time. I'll remember that the next time I need to re-do something.

The seam ripper thing can be VERY tedious with embroidery. I did it once, for a section that was about 1/4 inch long. It took a very long time, and I was ready to throw the whole thing away by the time I was finished.

OKKKKK - back to organizing my sewing room. UGH!

JHAM- It's pattern # 5581

also, as I have loaded pictures to photobucket I have been putting the pattern # or name in.
so the shirt pattern has the #, for a CarlaC I put in CarlaC's Portrait peasant dress- size 1
if I didnt know the # off the top of my head, but new the brand name I at least put that in.

If anyone would like the ebay seller ID please PM me, I keep losing track of who wanted it, some post here and some send PMs and Im all curmuddled.

Okay- on today's plate-
nap
laundry
pack
minnie dot dress- complete
matching Aline top so Daddy and Megan can be a Daddy-daughter team (he's so excited about his shirt and matching Megan!)
tomorrow-
maybe another A-line
or cross tie outfit-both are simple and cool.

My Jeep transmission is having issues so I will be carless tomorrow and possibly the rest of the week!!!!

I hope it all turns out ok. Please, keep us posted.

You guys are so cute! Great job on the Wendy Costume.

Thank you!!! I love that you guys think we're cute even without our faces... :lovestruc

I just wanted to check that you were using bobbin thread? It would definitely make the thread on top pack more closely... If you're already doing that, then I would suggest different fonts. They all tend to stitch differently (I have a Babylock, not a Futura).

Great work!
Can you drop your feed dog and feed the fabric manually? That way, you can control how the fabric feeds and you can get the stitches closer together.

Heather sent me an email this morning, and she wanted me to share with all you guys (she was running out for the day and didn't have time to post)

:lovestruc And, I feel the same way ladies and gentleman! :lovestruc
I got all goosebumpy when I saw what others had posted.

Eyore4ever- I love Megan's outfit and your DH's shirt looks really nice. I wish I could get my DH to wear something that I make.

OK, so I'm half done and here's the proof!! I took a bit of an easy option compared to the creations I know some of you will make, but they've still tested me. Sorry about the rubbish photography but me and the camera aren't seeing eye to eye at the minute!

Here's number one:

Picture171-1.jpg

Picture172-1.jpg

And number two - I was trying to be original and different on this but I guess you can't reinvent the mickey head!!

Picture169-1.jpg

Picture170-1.jpg

Now - have a made a mitake with the ricrac? The t-shirt is really set at the bottom now and has lost its stretch. The t-shirt is size 6-7 so hopefully will fit but would you take it off again? mmm I don't know.........

And finally DH asked me to make a case for his PSP. It just needs some velcro on the flap and I'm done!

I need a new smiley, one that is running around in a circle looking up at the sky as if it was falling and screaming. I just checked my ticker widget and it says I have 5 days 17 hours and 42 minutes until we leave. :scared1: I have so much to do, I've resorted to writing lists on colored construction paper to try and keep up with everything.

I woke up and hit the ground running this morning and I've got to keep up this insane pace for the next 4 days. I am determined not to have to stay up all night before we leave this time.

I should have some new work to post this evening. I'll post my old work to the photobucket account when I get back from our trip but if I have extra time :lmao: before we leave I'll post then. We'll be wired while we're at Disney so I'll check in.

RJ took Delaney out riding on her trike so they'll be gone awhile. I've been running laundry all morning and so far this afternoon. I also managed to get all of Delaney's clothes away and got her closet organized this morning. I'm working on the master bedroom right now and the master closet.

I'm so glad that we've got the photo thing worked out. Thanks TJ and Heather for doing that!

Teresa, I love the picture of Corey with Jord!

Okay, I'll check in later, I'm going to work for about 45 more minutes and then I'm going to sew for a little while.

Oopps pressed the button too soon! I said only half done as I've got two more t-shirts to go. One I've got planned but the other is a strong blue colour and is lending itself to something nemo-ish but I can't decide. Any suggestions?

Also, a while back someone asked about cleaning my machine. Well (very untechnical instructions coming up!!) you need to set the tension dial to zero and then run a pin or something similar down each side of the opening where the metal bit bobs up and down on the front. Is that clear as mud or would you like some pictures?!

My service cost £50 so I guess roughly $100.

Here is a picture of a Wendy costume I made for me... Just used a 2 inch (or so?) ribbon for the waistband and the pattern was a bridesmaid pattern or something (zipper up the back). You could easily use a peasant dress for the same effect...

peterpan-1.jpg

The other costumes are store bought Disney... this was in my "pre-sewing" sewing days. I only made mine because I HAD to! :rotfl:

I love themed costumes. We're doing MNSSHP as Hercules. How do you dot out the faces?

Hi everyone
I haven't posted in a long time. I came back a few days ago and was surprised at what all was going on and decided to stay out of it. The reason I came back was to post a few pictures from my April trip, which I finally got uploaded to my computer. We have been very busy here lately. Before we went to WDW my dd was being evaluated for some problems she was having in school, etc. She was diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder and since then, we've been running around crazy. She gets different kinds of therapy 4+ times a week, not at her school, because she is still in preschool. There have since then been a lot of dr. appointments, consults, meetings, etc. The next thing on the agenda is deciding on K placement for Sept.

I didn't mean to digress. I am not anywhere near as talented as most people here. I don't make anything fancy. But my dd loves the stuff I make her and tells everyone that mommy made it. I did just want to post a few pictures of her in some of the outfits I posted waaaay back when :)

My used to HATE to sew. Growing up, whenever I wanted an outfit for school, my Mother would say "make it". I stopped for many years. Now I find it helps to make me wind down and relax.
