I have a question that I hope is not contraversial, please no one take it that way. :o

Are there any rules about posting pics on the new account? All but one of my outfits are CASED. Non of them are 100% the same but very similar. Since our names are now posted with the outfits I don't want it to seem like I am trying to take credit for an idea. Is it o.k. to post a CASED outfit?

Thanks!

Just to be careful I would ask the person that you CASED before posting it. That way if they are not ok with it than you won't hurt anyone's feelings. By the way if it was me that you CASED go ahead. I am flattered by being CASED.

You know I debating posting here ever again but I decided I wanted to post one more time. I know most people are ignoring me so my post will not matter. I am pretty upset with the turn of events this past weekend on this board. I posted a simple question asking for everyone’s opinions. I was never disrespectful or rude. I kept the conversation factual and unemotional.

I felt like I was made out to be a villain over my view. About a year ago I started sewing. I made one dress and when I returned home from our vacation I found the original thread. It was a wonderful group of ladies who all shared a common interest. I learned a lot and was happy to help up where I could. Now I am pretty confident in my skills now. I feel I can make beautiful well crafted garments.

So now you know why I started so here is why I kept sewing. On July 4th of last year my youngest daughter who was 11 months at the time had 4 seizures. I was an absolute wreck. Over the next three months the number would climb to 30. I found sewing as a wonderful time consuming creative outlet. When I was sewing I was not constantly worried about when the next seizure was coming. The neurologists were never able to diagnose what was wrong but thankfully the seizures have stopped.

Yesterday, I got a pm from a mod asking me to remove pictures from my trip report. I was told nicely that I was displaying child p0rnography. Funny no one has looked at my TR since April 22nd. I planned that trip as the ultimate surprise, sewed 40 outfits and was delighted to share our magical week with you. Then in retaliation because someone did not share my opinion that is what happens to me. Well I asked the mod to delete my TR and I am done with this thread.

This weekend was an excellent lesson about who your real friends are. I am sorry to say they are not here.

We have a Photobucket group with pictures of our creations:

Password: disboards

Is there a way to see this? All I get is this itty bitty little box that you can't read anything.
It sounds like you are in a mobile Photobucket account. Somewhere on there there are little words that you need to click on, I think it's in the left hand corner. They are small, so you probably won't be able to read them. I hope that works!

As long as you are not selling the outfit, please feel free to post any CASED outfits.
It might be nice to add to your description "CASED From:....." or "Inspired by..."

Hi everyone! I posted to this thread for a while last summer before and after our trip, but since then I've only lurked. I've loved seeing all of the fabulous outfits and the beautiful children, and reading about everyone's trips. I hope it's not too creepy that I've lurked for so long, lol. I've been a regular poster on a much smaller Disney-related message board for many years, but they're not sewers and there's only one of them who "gets" boutique clothing.

Anyway, I've been sewing for a long time, and I sew some for profit, but I was inspired to learn applique from this thread and from the fact that my taste in boutique clothing far outpaces my budget for it. A few days ago I finished my first Minnie head, and I'm going to try doing her entire body soon. I did it as a sample for someone using a small size t-shirt that I had on hand, so it's not being modeled by one of my kids in the pic, but I think you can see it fairly well. I'm happy with it. There are a few things that I'll do differently next time, but overall I think it looks pretty good.

I also just finished this dress for my daughter to wear on our next trip. I made it a bit large so that she will, I hope, still fit into it when we go. I had been wanting to try this pattern for a while, and now that I have it's one of my favorites.

I'm totally picturing it in my head with a white crochet cloche (that I'll have to buy. A girl only has so much time for creative pursuits, lol.)

Your applique looks great!! I will try that someday, really I will!

WOW! Those are FABULOUS! Great job on the applique, and the dress is TDF! Is it a store bought pattern? I love the design.

That dress is sooooo cute! I just got that pattern today at Hanccok (5 for $5)! How hard was it?

I don't think it was your origional post that upset everyone Aimeeg. It gave a few others license to bring up a subject that they like use as a tool to make everyone :furious: These few feel that they have the copyright on creativity and just did not want to listen to what everyone was trying to say to them with out being defensive and rude. I recall this happening on another occassion. Yes, some people are being ignored, hopefully as a temp measure to cool down and get the group back to what it's supposed to be. A sewing group, where we can gain inspiration from each other.

I'm sorry, I never read your trip report. And have no knowledge of what transpired between you and the moderator. But I am glad that your daughter is doing well.

It's Simplicity 2912, a Patty Reed design, and it wasn't very difficult. It's not for a beginner, but it's not bad.

Gorgeous! I just bought that sundress pattern this weekend, I hadn't even thought of a Disney-fied version of it, it's absolutely beautiful!

I love your applique as well! I don't have the patience for pieced appliques. I wish I did, everyone does such beautiful work.

If you are CASEING me, I don't care if you do that though!

Thanks. :) I have no idea who the original idea come form for most of my stuff but I'll do my best!! I only have like 5 outfits to share so I won't have to do much research. LOL

I am definitely not selling. LOL You'd couldn't pay me enough to make even one simple outfit because I am so slow and it takes me forever to do one simple thing. ;) Plus, all my stuff falls apart when I wash it so I don't think anyone would want any of my things anyway. They'd be demanding a refund! LOL :lmao:

Which leads me to this question. My appliques fray away from my embroidery line when I wash them. I put them in the machine on Hand wash so I thought I'd be safe that way. How do you keep them from fraying? I wonder if I just make my embroidery line to thin. Any tips??? It's too much work to wear just once. ;)

Are you using any Heat n' Bond when you do them? When I use Heat n' Bond I don't have that problem. It helps to bond the applique to the shirt.

What the heck is a mobile account? I've no idea how I got that!
