Hi Guys, Here are my latest tries - the short set is for Tim, and the dress is for Elizabeth - I think I might make hannah a flounder outfit to match (hmmm, where did I see that idea) lol!~ do you think the dress needs something more??? This is the portrait peasant dress, I did a size 7 for her - does anyone else thing the elastic for the neck is too big?

Mabye a ruffle on the bottom? I am a sucker for a ruffle.

Mousetriper, I am so excited about this. Tell Alicia that I will put my best into her piece (I am going to try some more detailed appliques on this depending on the theme of the outfit---I assume that you are going to coordinate so she doesn't get similar items) and I send my love to her family.

I am also very excited about this!!! Thank you so much. I can't wait to see what you make. Yes I am getting some suggestions from Alicia and will work on coordinating it all with you guys. I hope to be sending all of you PM's in a day or two.

I really wish that I was more advanced to help. But, it is taking me a little longer than I thought it would to make my DD's outfits for our trip. I have 1 top done...:scared: I think it's such a wonderful thing you all are doing and I can't wait to see what everyone has made for the little sweetie!

Thank you very much. I know what you mean so no worries at all. It takes me forever and a day to make one outfit for my daughter. We are going to WDW in December and I might have one outfit done for her. Hahaha. It will take me some time, but I can't wait to make something for Isabelle!!

No Beth, thank YOU! for getting this going!!! I can't wait to get started!!

Awww you are too sweet, thank you Teresa! I am very excited about this project. It is just making me feel so good that we are going to be able to make a difference for Alicia and Isabelle.

I can't wait to see the cute outfits. I wish I knew how to sew. So I could help out.
Aww no worries, we have lots helping out. I can't wait to see what everyone makes as well.

I cant wait to start the Big Give Project!!!! I might have a smaller princess backpack that we could fill with things if we wanted.....that could be fun too!! Oohhh, we could make family shirts for one day - Im good at the iron on's - lol!!! Just let me know what to do - I'll help in any way I can to bring a smile to their faces!!!

Wendy:thumbsup2

Hi Wendy...wow that all sounds awesome. I have actually started to collect a few small things (Disney related, of course) to make a basket of some sort to send to them while they are at WDW. If you had stuff to add to that, that would be wonderful. Family shirts sounds very cool as well. I will PM you soon! Thanks again!

I would be happy to make something. Let me know size and details.
I have corresponded with Alicia and it is amazing that God has given her the grace to get through all of this. I don't think a day goes by that I don't think of her and her family.
Susan

I know eactly what you mean Susan. I think of them all on a daily basis and pray that they are able to get through the day. Alicia is an amazing woman, she truly is amazing! Thank you for helping. I have added you to my list and will PM you soon!

As promised, here is my newest creation. I am working on a bunch of outfits for my kids for the beach, we are going down in June and I am taking 2 girlfriends and thier kids (annual no hubby trip). My parents have a place, so I like to treat my friends and the kids have a blast. Well I have completed this dress and have 3 more to go. I promised the girls that I would make them matching dresses for our night on the boardwalk so this is what I decided on. I am thinking about making undie covers (as Roseanna calls them) out of the seersucker fabric but need a pattern. I am also thinking of making Russell a button down out of the seersucker. Do you think it is too girly? It has faint pink stripes running through it. I really want him to coordinate though. I also have several outfits planned for my kids including a crab one and fishy one.

wow they are big sorry. I didn't put them in photobucket because I was lazy and uploading to auctiva for some of my listings and did it there. I won't do that again, sorry.

Hi Ladies :)

I haven’t been around in a while. I have been so busy! I just wanted to drop by and post a few pics of Princess Katie one our mother/daughter trip to the Disney World in March. We had a wonderful time. Katie LOVED Mickey Mouse and asks to go back to his house all the time :goodvibes I think she has her Daddy just about talked into another trip. We had dinner at 1900 Park Fare and she was a monster. She would only talk and have a picture taken with Cinderella. I canceled out BBB reservations after the not so pleasant dinner. The rest of the trip was great and we will be going again in March of 09 for an second mother/daughter trip. Is it too early to start planning customs? It was so funny right before we left my oldest daughter Leanne said "Mom, I am starting to think this trip is all about what Katie is going to wear and not about the real reason we are going.... ME!" :lmao: She is going to be such a fun teenager!

Well here are the pics I have. The pictures I took are stuck on my camera until I find the battery. My friend sent me these.

Katie in the Cinderella dress I made (I was sewing sequins on the night before we left):

This is the dress Katie wore to the MK. She was stopped about every 5 steps. When someone said how cute she was she would say "Yeah" and smile. I was also asked about 20 times where I bought it. It was such a simple dress, but she was a show stopper. It is really not that long. She has her legs bent or something.

I will post a few more later. My computer is running so slow.

Ohh... I wanted to say I am totally impressed by everything I have seen lately. Just lurking makes me want to sew something :)

Wow your beach trip sounds marvelous!!! I grew up on the beach in CA and miss it dearly! Your outfits here are just so cute!!!!

I really like that fabric and think it will be great for the boardwalk. Where are you planning to visit? I live on the east coast and we have a boardwalk, that is why I'm asking. You can PM me if you want!

HA! You don't remember me. Last year when I was in OC, we met up on the beach and the girls played in the water. I will be down again the 3rd week of June and hopefully at least one other time this season. My parents are now charging me and family to use their place---grrrrr because they need a new roof. So my trips to the beach will be less fequent this year. :sad1:

your Daughter is so pretty. What great fabric. You did it again :thumbsup2

I love these!!! I think the dress looks great as it is, but some of the matching trim on the bottom would be REALLY cute!!! I think the elastic looks fine, how does it look on?

VERY CUTE!!!! I love the dress (and did you get a new entertainment center?)

It looks to me that the fabric has some silver thread running through it? If it does, I personally would not put it on a boy. And, sometimes that silver thread like that can be SOOOO itchy!!! So, I'd be careful making something out of it like undie covers that might rub on their little legs too much. And, if I'm just nuts, and it's not silver thread, just ignore everything I just said!!! :dance3:

Lacy!!!! It's so nice to see you posting!!! I'm glad you had such a nice trip, the customs are adorable!!! I can't wait to see more pictures!

Teresa, your not nuts! It is silver thread, I didn't even think of the itch factor. I will go down and feel it and see how bad it is. Roseanna ususally complains at the drop of a hat about itching and has not yet about the fabricaround the neck. So, give me your ideas, what can I use for Russell to coordinate? Also you are so perceptive, it is a new entertainment center. YEAH!!!! I also bought the matching bookcase from Target. Poor DH is going to come home and the whole house is gonna be different. I have completely remodeled the bathroom, new paint, new floors, ect. and now I am working on the family room. It is how I cope with deployment but boy is it expensive. THe entertainment center is becasue my parents are giving us thier 32 sony trinitron and it will not fit in our current one. It is such a nice tv, they are upgrading to HG. The tv is older then ours but so much nicer! I can't wait to watch football on it!

OOOH Cool a new TV!!!! Even if it is old, it's exciting!!! My Mom gave me her old TV a few months ago, and I was so happy!!! The thing is about as big as our living room! (of course, our living room is teeny tiny!)

How old is Russell? I think if you could find another fabric with similar colors in a more "manish" pattern it would look really cute. Maybe something emphasizing the green? Are you set on sewing something? I was just thinking a matching polo shirt with an applique would be cute.

I just wanted to share with you all a sweet thing that Corey did this morning!
He asked me to look up some videos for him last night. So, I bookmarked them for him. When I got on the computer this morning, a script popped up that said "Thanks Mom", when I hit ok, another popped up that said, "The videos really helped", then, "I really appreciate you helping me" . I know it's just a little thing, but it almost made me cry that he went to the trouble of writing out a script just so I would know how much he appreciated my help! :lovestruc He is really such a wonderful boy!

You know, I need a happy cry smiley!!!! I think MissCammie and Heather could use one of those too!! Anyone have one???

I am so far behind again...it seems impossible to keep up with this thread. It moves so fast!! I haven't been sewing much when I really should be...we leave in about 3 weeks! Anyway, I did make this for the kiddos for our 16 hour drive...crayon rolls...not as well made and pretty as the one Tom made, but will have to do....

IMG_5243c.jpg

I find the rick rack around it pretty hard to do...I just can't get it to position right, and had to redo it a few times. I decided to do the CARS crayon roll for ds without the rick rack. The kids love it especially and look forward to having crayons for the trip since I took away all their crayons last week after they decided to show off their artistic side on our entry way tiles, on our walls and behind our couch!!

Jenny

Teresa and Heather - welcome back!!!! I can't wait to read your trip reports and look at pictures.

I love the polo idea! I will have to go looking, I have a few weeks yet. Russell is 2 so I could even do shortalls with applique and a polo. Yeah for your new tv!!!!! Oh and your son sounds too sweet! I would have teared up too. Your family sounds so close! I hope my kids love me like that when they are teens.
