I found a great deal today!!! I'm not much of a shopper, because I'm a total spender. It's amazing, I stayed out of the stores last week, and saved $1200 for my cruise...sad huh? Like I said..I'm a spender. Anyway, I found red and white stripe leggings for only $2.40. I bought 4 pairs. These would be PERFECT for all of those Christmas outfits..I looked high and low for these last year and couldn't find any under 15 dollars. So I bought them a little larger than the girls would wear. They're actually leggings, and not tights, so they look like they will wear well.
I'm getting closer to booking my cruise. I'm going to wait for May, until I get my check from Uncle Sam, then I will book, I don't want to have to pay a balance on it, and don't want to significantly deplete my savings of a few grand..cha-ching! this also gives me time to finalize which month, length, that sort of thing. It's really going to be hard choosing Disney when my Aunt just booked a 9 Night...yes you heard right...a 9 nite on another cruise line, for 4 people for only 1400. I can't even get 4 people into a category 12 on a 4 night for that much. and to top it off, her cruise goes to my favorite port..Turks...
sorry to be so loooong winded..LOL. I'm off to work on my secret project outfit..LOL. I should be done in an hour or so...

These are fantastic outfits!!!! I love them all! The little doggy button is too cute!!!
Hey Guys. I just need to vent...I've had just a horrible stressful day. Nothing terrible happened just small things that built up. I think Violette is starting her terrible 2's early because she was just a little meanie today. She had little tantrums all day and when I picked her up to bring her in the room for a nap, she clawed my face really hard. I was so mad and upset that I just put her in the crib and shut the door and let her scream. She takes out all her agression on me and it's really upsetting. DH is deployed to Iraq right now and my sick (mentally, physically)mom lives with me. My house is a wreck! And when I say wreck, I mean it. I don't have any clean dishes, there are toys, paper, junk, and laundry everywhere. I just feel so overwhelmed and don't know where to start. It's just not one room, it's the whole house. I wish I could afford to have someone help me organize. My organizational skills are slim to none. DH is the neater one. I just love coming on this board. Everyone is so nice and helpful and it brightens my day to come here. So, I'm sorry I've blabbered out. Just had to let it out.

:grouphug: I'm so sorry! It sounds like you had a reall tough day. We are here for you, don't eve be afraid to share with us. I hope today is better. :grouphug:

Well I ended up at my grammies again today as the romper was more difficult then I had thought it would be, plus she has that really cool janome machine that sews the buttons on for you:rolleyes1 She had a hard time with the instructions too so I 'm glad it wasn't just me! The part that was giving us fits was the front wear the buttons are the rest was pretty easy and straight forward. Although my grammy commented a few times "why does it say to do it that way, That's not the way I do it." So I'm glad I asked for help and since I was already there and made use of the serger and got some more done on the "other" projects that have been started on but not yet finished.
So here is sophia in her brand new seersucker romper:

And when we got home I took another picture- And she would not "pose" unless she could hold the phone since I had previously used the phone to take the picture:rolleyes:

And Teresa- Thanks again for the bookmarks- I used them a ton in the last couple days!!
I am so envious of your relationship with your Grammy! It must be wonderful to be so close to her.

And, Sophia looks soooo cute in her little romper!!! Gret Job Anna!

Oh, and you are most welcome! I'm glad you like the bookmarks!
This board is addicting..............

Once upon a time I was content occassionally making Halloween costumes for my dds. Then we planned this trip to DW and I thought about making them the princess dresses (Belle and Snow White). Then I saw the cute Mickely ears shirts and had to do those. Now I am making them another outfit for Disney. I got the top almost done for older dd yesterday, just have to do the hem and capri pants. Oh, it has buttons. I've never done buttons before

Emily

hehehe, yes very addicitve!!! And very fun! :3dglasses

I think I have the perfect girlfriend for your little boy!! They have a lot in common, don't you think!
th_IMG_0180.jpg

:rotfl2: At first, when I was just skimming, I though Heather had wend and put a skirt on Sawyer!

Heather!!!! Your tutorial is fabulous...now if you can just give me private lessons while you're here in May...;)

Also, she brought home her rest mat to wash and it is tattered so I was thinking of making her a new one. Has anyone done one? I am going to look at TJ's bookmarks for instructions, but I think it would be pretty easy. I just don't know how much stuff to put inside. I want it to be comfy but able to fold up into her cubby. I think I have a project for tomorrow!

Cute pics! It looks like you had a great time.

I haven't used this mat tutorial, but I plan to before dd4 starts school in the fall.

This is what I was working on last night. I made this for Jenna to wear on Monday for picture day. She told me that she had to have something that would be prettier than everyone. Well I don't know about that, but this is what I came up with. The little bow on the strap is for her hair.

th_S2010120.jpg

Crystal, I absolutely LOOOVE this!! Jenna WILL have the prettiest dress!

This is what I have been up to all week. I wanted post the pics with Jenna wearing them, but she likes to go to my grandparents house for the weekend. It's the only time she gets to see her cousins. So bear with the white wall in the background.
th_S2010131.jpg

I found this set of sheets at Wal-Mart and thought they were definitely screaming to become clothes so this is the pillowcase. I also want to make myself a pair of capris out of this.
th_S2010130.jpg

This is one of the two nightgowns that Jenna convinced me to make for her. The other one is the opposite of this one.
th_S2010129.jpg

This dress may look familiar. I took one that I had made her and took it apart to make it into a halter dress. This one is not as heavy as it was before and Jenna likes it better and has decided that she wants to wear it to WDW. She didn't want to wear it the other way.
th_S2010128.jpg

Her Cinderella outfit. It is really cute on her.
th_S2010127.jpg

Just a capri set.
th_S2010126.jpg

The other half of the Giselle pillowcase.
th_S2010132.jpg

And a scallopini skirt made onto a pair of shorts.
Sorry so many pictures.

I love the remade halter dress and the Cinderella. So cute. Everything is adorable!!! The scallopini shorts are very clever!!! You have been busy!

YES, this board is very addicting! I woke up this am,and got my coffee, and plopped myself infront of the computer to catch up from last night!

I was asking my DH...do you think if I made Emma another MM Tutu when she turns 5 for our trip....will she wear it, or have outgrown that stage??? What do you ladies think?

My 5 year old would definietely wear it. I'm pretty sure my almost 10 year old would too!

I'd do it! My girls will wear much more fun/frilly stuff at DW than they will in real life. Well, Riley anyway. Drew will wear fairy wings to the grocery store!

I love it! What a sweetie Drew is!!!!

Ok I just got back from getting lunch and there was a little bit of excitement on the way back. I was happily speeding down the main road (it's actually a highway) and all of a sudden I see blue flashy lights in front of me and then I see some behind me. There are all of a sudden like five or six total blue flashy light cars coming up from behind me. I stopped at the red light and then the policeman that was ahead of me gets in the right-hand turning lane and starts pointing for all of the cars ahead of me to get out of the way, then he pointed at me to do the same. Well it turns out that the truck that was behind the car behind me is who they wanted. They surrounded him and went running at him with guns drawn.

And, since Brian's not home.... Your husband is very handsome!

hey look...OJ Simpson got a new truck!

:rotfl2:
OMG My 7 day park hoppers just came in the mail!

Oh and a question... Any ideas on a clutch/bag/pocket book I could make to go with the evening gown I just made for a wedding?

I just love the Peter Pan shirt that (Heather???) made. I like it so much I'm making it for ME! out of a tank top pattern... (I should have had girls)

There are a bunch of bag patterns in the bookmark, but I've never made any myself, so I'm not much help!

Cool, a Peter Pan shirt for yourself! I think that is a great idea!
I was just wondering how you all keep your houses clean. I spent 3 hours today just doing the basics. I pick up and clean stuff during the week too. I really hate the mess so I clean but it whips me out...I am exhausted and I still have a ton of stuff to do. Argggggggg....don't mind me...I am just venting.pirate: (and all's I want to do is to sew my DD's birthday outfit....hmmppsffff) Oh and while I am venting....its our anniversary and DH is angry with me (as usual) and I have no idea what I am doing to make him so miserable and he just blames me for it... grrrrrrrr..... OK now I think I am done back to work!

Aww, sorry Cathy!! I hope your anniversary gets better! How many years is it?

Hey ladies... I have been on before. I lurk constantly...our trip is coming up and I wanted to show you what I made so far

I am a total beginner. Here are outfits for pirate and princess party "if" we go...I might make a skirt for myself...I also made bandanas for the whole family and my dh will also have a red/white striped belt. He doesn't really want to dress up. The top of this skirt is red and white polka dots(its hard to see).

th_IMG_0061.jpg

My son will wear a shirt..lol
th_IMG_0058.jpg

My dd's animal kingdom skirt. I tried to case the dress like it, but I screwed up the bodice twice. So I quit and made a skirt.
th_IMG_0064.jpg

The front looks the same:) Thanks for the inspiration. I will be coming back for advice.
I love the outfits!! You did a fantastic job!!

And, your giant M&M threw me into a fit of giggles!!!!
YAY!! Steph is back! I got my cute Megan fix for the day!

I just made this reversible jumper using CarlaC's (Sew Boutique For Dolly and Me) A-line pattern. It only took me 1 1/2 hours to make both Tessa's and one for her build-a-bear. But, I already had the fabric cut out.

This side is made from the very first fabric I ever bought, back in July. It's oranges. I thought it was very Florida-like. It also reminds me of my late Grandpa who had big orange and graprefruit trees. She'll probably wear it for one of our non-Disney days in Florida.
She thinks this first one is a very model-like pose:
DSC07163Small.jpg

The other side is some fabric that I got on clearance at JoAnn. I thought it was very happy looking. Steph made a shirt for herself out of it a while back and it was really cute.
DSC07187Small.jpg

I thought of Grandpa as soon as I saw the outfit!!! I love it. It would be very cool if we could go to the old house and get a picture of Tessa under Granpa's tree... Oh geesh, I made myself cry!....I can't belive it's been almost 6 years.

Great outfits guys. Steph, glad you guys had a good time. I am in a bit of a time crunch right now but would like to share that Thurs. on my day off I actuall SEWED. Yup, tha's right, I broke out the new machine I got for Christmas (5 months ago!!!!) and sewed together some strips that had been cut since last Oct. Now, they are not Dis in nature, but it needed to be done. Now I need to finish it up. I am off tomorrow and monday I plan on having the twirl top, peasant dress (2nd layer) and pants all done. Keep your fingers crossed. Hopefully I'll post pics monday.

...t.

Ok, fingers are crossed!!!!

Love the oranges! And I am so happy Tessa and I can match! :lovestruc

Oh, and I have almost finished the laundry, so maybe I will start a tr tomorrow too!

We will need a picture of you two together!

And woo hoo!! I can't wait to read your TR!!!!

Love those Tessa photos! At first I thought that orange fabric looked like mac'n'cheese :rotfl: The top turned out great. I have fabric to make an a-line top for Lily and haven't done it yet.

OK now I think I am done  back to work!

Vent away. . . in terms of the cleaning, it gets away from me sometimes. I don't have classes on Friday so I try and get as much done then so I can enjoy the weekend. But I agree, the work is NEVER really done (and I don't have kiddies yet!!)

In terms of your DH, I think it is because we expect so much more from those we love. Talk to him, see what is wrong, hug and kiss and hopefully things get better. I oftentimes find that it is just miscommunication that causes most of those problems.

Those are adorable. . . I bought that pattern ages ago and have been a bit intimidated by it. . . (I think it is the closing by hand part, and I have been wanting to get a rotary cutter). . . anyhow, I am thinking I may need to break it out!

So I'm finally done with all of the princesses dresses for the girls!! Here is the last of the dress and a summary of all the dresses I've done this past month. One more outfit - sundress - to do and then I can pack! That's right I leave in 14 days and I'm not packed!!

I forgot to post the top that I made for Jenna using the same pattern. I also made her a matching headband. Jenna has that same BAB Cheetah. She named hers Jennifer.
S2010118.jpg

See there is Jennifer and all of the other babies that sleep in the bed with Jenna.
S2010117.jpg

And just cause she is cute. That bear is her latest BAB. Her name is Anna.

Just watched Carla C's video tute for the ruffler (on YCMT)... I still doubt I'll figure that thing out. It looked so SIMPLE to do that stripwork jumper that I'm ashamed that I've made 3 and still all I managed on Thurs. was to get the strips sewn together. That was partially b/c my pattern is on my pc at work and I needed to print out the bodice but still:headache: I will have it done by monday though I want to get the easy fit pant pattern to make the pants...hmmmm, we'll see. I need a good pant pattern and it goes up to size 10 so, it'll be good for both kids.

Back to scour the web for free patterns....

...t.

:headache: Okay, here is my latest sewing disaster. I made this outfit (matching tank top, headband and cropped pants, size 3T ;) ) and sadly it is not for Lily. I need to stop making things in her size because it is too hard to part with them! So, things were going great until I realized I forgot the ric rac skull mouth :scared1: and went to go sew it on and realized there is a tiny hole in the back of the fabric of the tank top :scared: I can see where their serger caught up a piece of ribbon and they went to snip it off and snipped a little hole in the fabric. Now I can't list the outfit on that other site that is not :wizard: until I can make sure I can get a new tank top from Old Navy  On the plus side, Lily gets to keep the tank top. On the negative side, that means I will probably use my extra fabric to make her a matching pair of pants (instead of another pair to sell). GRR! Lesson Learned: Inspect store bought tops before adding applique!

Cute pics! It looks like you had a great time.

I haven't used this mat tutorial, but I plan to before dd4 starts school in the fall.

Thank you! I've found that through craftster and was going to check it out.

Those are some great photos! The kids look so cute! I can't wait for the trippie! Jacob's eye paint is very cool.

I will tell him: there is quite a story about that face paint!

Hey, do you all remember my friend whose daughter has leukemia? She is in the latest edition of Star magazine! Her dad works for Fox and met David Cook, a contestant on American Idol. He has been wearing her bracelet every week and there is an article about it in the magazine. There is a picture of Lindsey and everything! I ran into them today and she told me she loves the skirt and t-shirt I did for her and wants me to make her more. Her mother told her she was being rude, but I told her that's the best thing someone who sews can hear! Now I am excited about making something new for her.

Can't wait to hear the story! That is nice that she loves what you made her! DD10 went to a b-day party for her friend that turned 7. I made her 2 outfits for her AG doll and she was rude! She said "where is my Hannah Montana shirt? I want your mom to make me a Hannah Montana shirt!" :headache: I don't think that's gonna happen!

Boy that is a horrible way to act in response to a gift.

I finally have the pics off of my camera to show you all what we are planning on doing:

Doing the bodice/sleeves of the dress with the bottom of the top:

Mom is also going to embroider a couple of Mickey heads on tshirts for Erin & I.

I know this is a few days old, but can I ask where you got the first 2 fabrics? I am DESPERATE for something like the first one- I went to a few fabric stores today and couldn't find anything like it or another one I had in mind. I also love the 2nd one and found something similar with princesses at Wal-Mart but they didn't have any mickey ears.

Thanks so much! All of them are very cute!

On the upside Jeanne, that outfit was just too cute not to give to Lily anywa!! :cutie: My lily had her physical for daycare (I can't believe she's going to DAYCARE!!!:sad2: ) and she is 37" and 31 lbs. so she's pretty on par for the course (67th and 64th percentiles) so WHY is it that she's JUST now fitting into a 2 T in the waist but they're almost too short???

...t.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging and kind remarks....things did get better and we went out for dinner....so that was nice! :goodvibes

Tessa's reversible top is so cute! I love the reversible idea :thumbsup2

And I really love everyone's pretty dresses and outfits for Disney! :goodvibes

Castle, great job at saving....I am trying to do the same thing! When is that check going to arrive in May????....I won't let myself believe it till I see it. "If" we get one its going into the Disney fund!!!!:cool1:

Jammy....what an adorable outfit...sorry about the hole :sad2: .....you would think they wouldn't sell something with a hole in it so you wouldnt have to check it....:flower3:

OK I am off to sew until I fall into bed exhausted...

BTW....I think I did something to my left shoulder...I either have bursitis or I strained or ripped a tendon....its been killing me  for a month so I am going to get it looked at...

Oh and one last thing...I got asked to chaperone the prom and it's May 3rd (hey that the first day of Heather and Teresa's first day at Disney!!:cool1: ) Should I buy a dress or make one?? It actually may be cheaper to buy one since I don't have to get as decked out as the girls... I would love to make that Enchanted Dress (the aqua one). Would that be stupid? I am not quite sure I should....hmmmppffff.

Ok now I am really off to sew. I have Moda fabric  ....its spoiling me for anything else...such nice stuff!

disneymom0104 ~ Both fabrics came from Joann's. The blue one I went out of town looking for after someone here posted it. I found it at a larger Joann's in Indianapolis.

Just had to let it out.

 for you! I hope you are having a better day today!

Cute skirt!

This is what I was working on last night. I made this for Jenna to wear on Monday for picture day. She told me that she had to have something that would be prettier than everyone. Well I don't know about that, but this is what I came up with. The little bow on the strap is for her hair.

She will have the prettiest dress! Sooo pretty!

This is what I have been up to all week. I wanted post the pics with Jenna wearing them, but she likes to go to my grandparents house for the weekend. It's the only time she gets to see her cousins. So bear with the white wall in the background.

And a scallopini skirt made onto a pair of shorts.
Sorry so many pictures.

I uploaded 118 pictures to my photobucket account! Wow!

Your kids are just too cute! Can't wait for you TR!

I was just wondering how you all keep your houses clean. I spent 3 hours today just doing the basics. I pick up and clean stuff during the week too. I really hate the mess so I clean but it whips me out...I am exhausted and I still have a ton of stuff to do. Argggggggg....don't mind me...I am just venting.pirate: (and all's I want to do is to sew my DD's birthday outfit....hmmppsffff) Oh and while I am venting....its our anniversary and DH is angry with me (as usual) and I have no idea what I am doing to make him so miserable and he just blames me for it.... grrrrrrrr..... OK now I think I am done  back to work!

 for you too! Hope things are better! And my house is tiny so it makes it easier to clean!:rotfl: That and my DH is a neat freak!:rotfl2: :rotfl:

The other side is some fabric that I got on clearance at JoAnn. I thought it was very happy looking. Steph made a shirt for herself out of it a while back and it was really cute.

I love that fabric! Sooo cute! And I agree, it is a VERY model like pose!

My son will wear a shirt..lol

My dd's animal kingdom skirt. I tried to case the dress like it, but I screwed up the bodice twice. So I quit and made a skirt.

The front looks the same:) Thanks for the inspiration. I will be coming back for advice.

Great outfits! Your kids are adorable!

So I'm finally done with all of the princesses dresses for the girls!! Here is the last of the dress and a summary of all the dresses I've done this past month. One more outfit - sundress - to do and then I can pack! That's right I leave in 14 days and I'm not packed!!

one word WOW! I don't know how you do it with all of that fancy fabric! Great job!

Okay, here is my latest sewing disaster. I made this outfit (matching tank top, headband and cropped pants, size 3T ) and sadly it is not for Lily. I need to stop making things in her size because it is too hard to part with them! So, things were going great until I realized I forgot the ric rac skull mouth and went to go sew it on and realized there is a tiny hole in the back of the fabric of the tank top I can see where their serger caught up a piece of ribbon and they went to snip it off and snipped a little hole in the fabric. Now I can't list the outfit on that other site that is not until I can make sure I can get a new tank top from Old Navy On the plus side, Lily gets to keep the tank top. On the negative side, that means I will probably use my extra fabric to make her a matching pair of pants (instead of another pair to sell). GRR! Lesson Learned: Inspect store bought tops before adding applique!

Sorry about the shirt, but this outfit is ADORABLE!!! I don't really like skulls that much, but this is just tooo cute!
