Yay! I'm first of the Utah Bunko Girls to post (they're still sleeping, I'm sure).

We played at SugarBees "House" (It's a mini-mansion). My house is 3800 sq. feet and her's is at least twice as big! But it's just beautiful and WELL decorated...since we have a ton of the same stuff and the same taste

So the Bunko Girls were me, Spongie, Jham(mmie), and Sugarbees.(plus 4 others) No pictures, sorry!

I WON a prize!!! :cool1: A Love me KNot bag in black and white! LOOOVE it! Course I won for the lowest score :rolleyes1 I guess it's not like golf where low is good. :confused3

Sugarbees and Jahm are 2 of the nicest and funniest ladies I know, y'all
I never would have discovered them if it weren't for this thread (4 ago  )
aa.jpg

WE HAD SO MUCH FUN!!! I just wish we could have ALL our DIS friends come over and play!!!!
Utahmama, Spongie, and Jham are about the cutest gals around! I'm forever grateful to Jeanne for sucking me into this board!!! :grouphug:

Awww, thanks! :grouphug: I wish I were still sleeping :sad2: I drank too much diet cherry pepsi and couldn't get to sleep last night. Her house is perty, isn't it? Bunko was fun! And I spent too much at Hobby Lobby--hey, I never get out there! Everyone won a purse but me :sad1: :rotfl:

I DIDN'T WIN A PURSE EITHER!!! DANGIT!!

:lmao: THANK YOU!!

I was fixin to be wicked yesterday...my step daughter had requested that I put her hair in "pig tail" buns...a little bun on each side of her head. She had seen pictures of me like that in my ballet days and was fascinated by the hair style. She LOVED it. Unfortunately when she went to school one of the boys called her "Princess Leia"...which really hurt her feelings. (She doesn't even know who Princess Leia IS...but she did NOT like being teased!) When she told her mother about it, mom's response was "Well you DO look like Princess Leia"...and then proceeded to tell her that it was the dumbest hair style she'd ever seen. All of this was said while they were at a restaurant. My SD was so embarrassed that she put her coat over her head.

I don't get it. This child is so self conscious and sensitive. She was crushed.

Anyhow...last night my little step son took the opportunity to tease his sister further about it and whispered that she looked dumb. Too bad his wicked step mama has super human hearing.

Suddenly he found himself yanked from his activity and plopped into BED for the night...at 7pm. He missed playtime and dessert.

Yep...I'm mean.

But I will not have cruelty in my house. Wow...I'm STILL really mad about this.

I have no doubt that my step daughter will NEVER try anything new ever again. Which is so sad in and of itself. She's such an expressive girl. But it's locked up tight now.

GRRRRRRRRRRR

*sigh*

At least I lived up to my wicked reputation...I was starting to fee a little too Mary Poppins...y'know?

:lmao:

I'm a wicked stepmother too! Isn't it FUN? Especially when their mothers get in on the fun! My heart goes out! You just keep up the good work! You're doing a GREAT job!!! :thumbsup2

On the ongoing child discipline thang:

Spank em!

Just kidding ;) sort of:

The "Naughty Chair" (which you have to pronounce like a Brittish Nanny) Is the best tool for us. If the little darling (Norah) gets OUT of the naughty chair before the timer goes off....I spank. Only because I know I'd be "setting the little precious angel" back in said naughty chair repeatedly would get consecutively more forceful and stressful. That child can push a button, I tell you what.

We tried 1,2,3 Magic which in theory works well for some parents, I'm sure, but we kept saying: "One!....Twoooooooooooo!....thrrrr" because we didn't want to get to 3, and darned if my kids wait for the "r" in "Three" to budge :rotfl2: I especially love listening to parents who use fractions for the same reasons! "2 1/2....2 3/4....You better move mister! 2 7/8......"

Once, while at Disney World, after a loooong whiney day, during a mama meltdown, I said to my kids:"Shape up or I swear I'll spank your bottoms right here in the Happiest Place On Earth in front of Mickey Mouse and ALL these HAPPY people!" But we ended up laughing because I sounded ridiculous.

Yeah, not a big fan of the British nanny thing. Someday I'll explain and tell you all my deep, dark secrets on that nonsense. It's all a big LIE! :lmao:
Just remember it's TV and it's NOT REAL! Speaking from personal experience here.

Best of luck to ALL OF US parents who are trying our best to raise decent human beings! Being a parent BITES sometimes! ACK! :scared1:

Hello!! I just wanted to tell everyone that I'm planning my next cruise! yea me!!! I just have to decide which cruise line to do...my friend recently went on not a Disney cruise ***egad!*** but she had a fabulous time. So we'll see. but so far Disney's prices aren't too bad. If I book the land and sea seperate, I save about 2,000 dollars...keep your fingers crossed for me, I'm going back to planning..:)
Oh yeah, I did sew something yesterday. I made a tee with an applique of the shopping girl, the one available on YCMT. It came out really cute. All she needs is for her eyes to dry and she'll be all done..:rotfl:
And, since you're a FL resident, don't forget to look into those fares too.

DD had her 5 year old picture taken wearing a petti. She loves it!! Our 2nd one should be here in a month or so.

SOOO cute! Great...now I want a petti...er...I mean for Saylor, of course!

I wish I could do a narrow rolled hem! My brother (machine, to clarify) has a foot for it, but it doesn't "roll" the fabric as in the tutorial video featuring a much better machine that makes it look easy. NO, it folds the fabric in a stupid manner which frustrates me.

As God as my witness, I WILL own a serger someday! :cool2:

(ducking for the lightening about to strike me)

Oh My HECK Utahmama!!! What happened to your siggie??? Looks like you didn't duck fast enough! Must've been that diet pepsi! :rotfl:

Here you are Luke! I know you're all just dying to see pictures of Tessa's birthday party from a few weeks ago. So, I'll post a bunch of them!

The cake. It didn't turn out as planned. I made up a batch of the marshmallow fondant and it went horribly wrong. I couldn't roll the stuff out and I couldn't mix the coloring into it. I tried heating it up to make it more pliable, but it was still too stiff. So, I resorted to my old standby- whipped cream and pudding frosting with chocolate chip embellishments.

Here's the whole gang. We had the cake and presents in the food court of the mall. This is Lydia, Arminda, Casey, Tessa, and Courtney. This was a "cousin's only" party!:

We had a home Invasion in our neighborhood 4 wks ago which included police in my back yard while we were sleeping..
so every little sound i hear i freak out .. My dog was barking inside, so i immediately just turned on every light in my house up and down and also outside . :rolleyes1 while DH just slept through it all :scared1: he used to be a marine :rolleyes1 my back yard is the worst I am just going to have to put a huge spotlight in the back yard it is too dark .....
after about 4 hrs i finally turned them off :scared1: and was able to sleep then had to wake up at 9 for Mayson
But Dh wasn't as clueless as i thought , he knows me so he let me have my freak out moment and in my fridge this morning was a Diet wild cherry pepsi

I sewed something this week, I didn't just goof around and post totally off-topic pictures!

Here's Sawyer's Buzz Lightyear shirt. He actually likes it! He kept pointing to the Buzz's on it and smiling and hugging the shirt. I don't think he's ever watched Toy Story, but he likes Buzz, apparently.

DSC07149Medium.jpg

Here he is "modeling" it. It's nearly impossibe to get a picture of him when he's not up and running, so this is the best I could do! He just finished making a mess of his sister's room and he thinks he's pretty funny.

Since bratty kids are the parents fault :rolleyes1 , I wouldn't want to be on that Super Nanny. Unless there were prizes involved. Good ones. Like purses...that Jham did not win. Poor little lamb.

Thirdly- I need the Yum Yum Chicken recipe...and now every one here will want it too. It has a yummy sound to it. YOU are welcome.

Thirdly- I need the Yum Yum Chicken recipe...and now every one here will want it too. It has a yummy sound to it. YOU are welcome.

Yum Yum Chicken (courtesy of SIL Julie--who also DIDN'T win a purse!)
1 1/2 C. Brown Sugar
1/2 C. Honey Mustard
1/2 C. Ketchup
1 T. Worstesershire Sauce
1/2 t. salt
3/4 C. Water
2 lbs. chicken strips

Mix all ingredients together...Pour into baking dish and bake at 325 for one hour COVERED, bake another 30 minutes UNcovered.
Prepare white rice as side...

Sounds CRAZY but it is YUM YUM! Honest! the kids ask all the time if we're having yum yum chicken w/rice!!

SOOOO...who's your friend of a friend who was on the show? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Go check out season ONE, I think it was the 2nd to the last episode....KEEP IN MIND...this was in my previous life and we DO NOT speak of it...EVER!
Also keep in mind that we were just hanging out in the mall one day and NEVER made any attempt or request for ANY Supernanny help!
ALSO keep in mind that we were ASKED SEVERAL TIMES to create instances where SN would need to come in and rescue us!
ALSO keep in mind that Blake is an awesome kid and nothing like he was portrayed as being. HOWEVER, his father is exactly the way he was portrayed, if NOT WORSE.
Was that enough disclaimers? Good lord i can't believe I'm baring myself this way.

REMEMBER...this is just like :wizard: ...we never say it's name...NEVER!!!!!

I HATE cleaning up sugar!!!!

That's not fair you didn't get a purse!!! Poor Jhammie!

Thanks for the "I didn't win a purse" sympathy everyone :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Once, at our old house, in the middle of the night our dog (who was inside) started barking and freaking out. DH went to the back door (in his underwear :scared1: ) and let the dog out. This dog was a huge and very intimidating looking dog and he went tearing after someone--turns out it was a cop :scared: they were looking for someone that had robbed the nearby 7-11. Fortunately it was more comical than scary.
