I'm so excited...just had to share. tomorrow I'm booking our land and sea...
our sea portion will sadly not be with disney this time...too expensive. Their prices are almost 4 times what I'm paying.
So if we can get the dates, we will be sailing October 6-11 and in Disney from October 11-17.
I can't wait!!!:rotfl: I think my debit card might cry tomorrow!:scared1:

Like many others from Florida, Michigan, and the UK, we spent last week in WDW:

First day, checking in at AKL. The greeter at the line asked DD if grandma made the top! :confused3 She said no, her mom was a famous sewer! :goodvibes And between that outfit and the 'famous' talking Dolly (12" stuffed doll that she sleeps with) having intriguing conversations with the CM at the check-in desk, we were upgraded from the Toyota-beast view (standard) to the Wildebeast view (Sunset Savannah). With Bunkbeds! (Thought she was going to kill herself getting down from the upper bunk to run to the balcony to see Giraffes or the ever-famous Mohawk bird.) Pics are from MK later that day. Wendy loved the top, found Nana on the back, and loved that DD brought her a storybook - Peter and Wendy's story - to sign. Butterick peasant top, HeatherSue's inspriration, store-bought skirt

PeterPantopwithatWDW.jpg

Next day was AK. I wanted the red outfit, she wanted the pink. :flower3: What the heck, it's vacation! Carla C's newest top pattern, lengthened by about 4"!, Walmart-pillowcase applique, patchwork twirl skirt from last year. I love this picture!

pinktwirlauroratopatWDW.jpg

Day 3, MK for a full day. Guess who got picked to be Cogsworth at Belle's Storytime? :) And someone needs to point me to where I can buy a red baseball cap for cheap! I kept thinking all day was that she didn't match...not being happy she was wearing a cap to protect her from the sun...it really bugged me! Mickey sequined applique pulled off a too-small Kmart tank and re-sewn, patchwork twirl skirt.

Mickeytwirlatwdw.jpg

Then off to 1900 Park Faire for tea with Alice! (believe me, you're happy you can't see *this* face! :scared: ) McCalls or Simplicity pattern from a few years ago. I hate the collar!

AlicedressatWDW.jpg

Day 4, back to MK for the am, DHS for PM. McCall's top, purchased bermudas. So hot her feet got a light sunburn!

MinniedottopatWDW.jpg

Day 5 - Gymboree (I know, the shame!) at Epcot I had a 101 Dalmations outfit, but it was so hot the day before and I was worried she'd be too hot in the double-layered skirt. I was also worried about a long skirt and a too-small stroller (promised for the Epcot portion of the trip.) She was supposed to wear it the day we went to DHS, but we mixed it up day 4 when MK got unbearable. She wore it to play in the sandbox yesterday, though! Carla C's top, 4" longer, with a double-layer skirt. I've since taken the top layer and scalloped it up with black grossgrain bows, but don't have a pic.

Dalmationoutfitwearing.jpg

And all of this (with the exception of the sequined Mickey top) belong to the every-day wearable collection around our house. You've not had fun as a mom until you've tried to keep a calf-length twirl skirt out of a bike chain!

Oh, they are all fantastic! I love the Peter Pan top! That is so original! Fantastic job! Where did you get the pattern for the silhouettes? My problem with seeing all of the fantastic jobs everyone is doing is that I want them all! I have no problem with changing clothes a couple of times a day (especially when you consider an outfit for the day and one for dinner) but I'm practically to the point where I want an outfit for almost every ride! One for Pirates of the Caribbean, now Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Winnie The Pooh, etc.! We would do nothing but change our clothes! Hmm, I guess this means we just have to go more often! Now if the old pocket book could afford it!

Good luck with getting the all clear, I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm sending pixiedust: your way! Congratulations on five years, that is fantastic!

THANKS so much. . . it is a bit scary, I have to schedule the appointment soon, but the 5 year mark is a big deal. Thanks so much for the well-wishes they really do mean a lot!

OK, the wendy dress is too big.....Oh well...It'll do.

DSCN0875.jpg

This works ok tho....

DSCN0878.jpg

These turned out GREAT! They both look cute, even if the first one is a little long, you know she will grow into it and if not, it still looks nice!

ok, going to try this again.......
Here is what I made today! It is a stroller caddy :) All freehand, no pattern :)

This is beautiful, creative and useful!

All awesome customs! Love them!

Just out of curiosity, and you can ignore if I am overstepping boundaries, but why to you blur your little girls face?

Those are so pretty. I am inspired to make a quilt for Jenna to bring with her when we go to WDW (even though it won't be cold when we go). It won't be anywhere near as fancy as the ones posted here lately. Just something simple.

You can do it! There's tons of fun and simple patterns out there. I'm sure she will absolutely love it!

Oh I love it! I want to use that pattern for my I spy Disney quilt, but since I haven't worked on it and I've had squares sitting around for months, I doubt that my quilt will be anything but 6" squares!:rotfl:

An I spy disney quilt?!?! Perfect! I haven't been sewing long enough to have unfinished projects around but my mom did, so I know how that goes.... I hope you get it done some day!

Wow!! :worship: :worship: :worship: I can't imagine how much time and love went into those quilts. What wonderful gifts!

thanks! :upsidedow I can't imagine how much time either... I didn't keep track. :rolleyes1

Those are GORGEOUS!!! Wow!
They are FANTASTIC!!!!!

thank you so much!

Today my youngest turned 12. Our trip in 2 weeks is a surprise for my boys so I got a 25 piece Disney puzzle and wrote Happy Birthday Jake and Levi and put Disney World April 27-May4, 2008. On the back of each piece I put direction for a treasure hunt to find each piece... Some very simple and some rather complex treasure hunting will be going on. The last puzzle piece will tell them to go to the coffee table and make the puzzle.

That's so fun! I dream of doing a surprise trip one day for my kids yet to be.
Of course, I'm terrible at keeping secrets so I'd probably blow it after I booked it.

I have been trying to get a few things done, as I am going on a scrapbooking girls weekend with my cousins, aunts and grandma!! No Kids and No Husbands! This will be my first time gone for 2 nights and days since Sophia was born- The last time I went I was pregnant!! I am super excited!! :dance3: And a bit nervous! :guilty: But there is enough mac n cheese and hotdogs in the house to last the 2 days I'll be gone!! :rolleyes1

Have fun! My nephew ate so many hotdogs I swear he was processed himself. :scared:

WHEW! I am TIRED!

I can't imagine why... :rotfl: you are almost done and I hope you have a wonderful time!

I used that pattern for this outfit.
th_DSC_1798.jpg

I asked around before I made it and chose not to cut on the bias - the ruffle layed out fine in my opinion.

That's really cute!

Here are our new doll clothes. Hope you like them!

love them!!!

It's super cute. I'll have to remember that... for when I have kids ... and a stroller.. :goodvibes Not that I'm thinking ahead or anything... *ahem*

I'm mad at my husband. He's playing basketball tonight when he is supposed to be home sitting adoringly at my feet!

I'm so sad I may have to make a major purchase on the Discover Card!

that'll teach him. :rotfl:

they are great! and they look so sweet together.

They are GORGEOUS!!! Now if the pics were only a little bigger- I was squinting to try and see what the different patches were.

Wow! Impressive! You've got to get a closeup of some of the squares so we can see what is on each one! Fantastic job, they're beautiful!

Sorry! I was trying to be good and follow the directions on the first page, so I resized them. Is this better? I won't post the blue one... it's really is extremely fuzzy. You just have to promise not to notice how much some of my seams are off. :rotfl:

If I missed anyone... I am sorry and thank you! It was definately a bittersweet project; these are among the first I made by myself. my mom taught me how to quilt and she passed away last year. But I had a lot of fun and I am happy you like them. :goodvibes

I forgot...
I'm also super jealous of all you who have trips coming up. But that means tons of cute outfits to look at, so I guess I can't be too mad..

Slighty_obsessed- I  those quilts- lots of work to get ALL those seems to be perfect! Thanks for the BIGGER pictures!! I love all the different fabrics- did you get to use some of your moms stash to make them? I hope they were a healing project for you- to do something she taught you!! :goodvibes I'm sure you missed her too though!! Great Great Job!!

Great Trip Report! Like all of your customs. Aurora is my fav. Is that from a big pillowcase, or one of those panels they sell in the fabric dept?

We too are going to Disney World in Sept. I am worried about the heat and customs. We will have a couple of petti's by then. Think they will be too hot?? We are staying 7 nights at ASM. First time staying there. We are considering booking preferred. Any building requests i should make?

I love the outfits! I'm sad right now because we leave next week and I don't want to start any new projects so I'm sitting here looking at my new sewing machine and seeing everyone's customs - I'm so jealous!!!

Maybe I'll work on some daisy sunshirts for the summer.

Last night I was trying to sew a Tinkerbell dress and I changed the stitch to one of the decorative stitches and the wheel that you turn to change the stitch type broke and now the wheel just turns freely. :headache: I told DH what happened and he said, "Well maybe you should just get another one. I don't think the one you have is made for all of the sewing you have been doing." So today I get to go look for a new sewing machine. I am so happy. I think he is ok with me getting a new machine, because the one I have has started squeaking real bad. I have oiled every part that I have been able to get to and it just won't stop.

All this talk of Free dining has me jealous! On one hand, I so want to go back this fall but on the other hand, I don't want to deal with the Free Dining crowds. Maybe I can convince DD to go early December - less crowds, less heat.:upsidedow

Wow! Those are great! I especially love Julie's dress! We have Kit and Julie. I can not let DD see these! She will get mad at me because I haven't had time to make many doll clothes at all. :scared:

That's how I feel about all of your wonderful outfits! I haven't made anything for DD yet!

Stephres - Thank you! I enjoy making them. Some of the dresses are more challenging than others. I'm finding that collars and small areas (like underarms on tank styles) are the most challenging. At least I don't waste much fabric if I'm not happy with the way an outfit turns out! I've been using alot of remnants that I got for cheap!

SUPER CUTE!!! I love that!! Very inventive!!! Anything that will keep Diet Coke close at hand is a :thumbsup2 to me!!!

My pup's registered name is...*grand entry music* "Beauregard Jackson Biltmore III"

We call him Beau-Jack! Or BJ...

he's a good boy. we love him to pieces!! he's my best boy!
:

Our doxie was named Beauregard!!! How funny. We had to give him away because he was very very mean and attacked us (and Jackson was only 10 months at the time). How funny that we have the same name for our black and tan doxies! We had another doxie too- Annabelle. She was absolutely miserable without Beau. She honestly had an anxiety disorder and it was just too much for her to be alone. Now she is with Beau (and my x-in-laws). I still get to visit them though.

I felt that way last year, so I feel your pain. How crowded was it? Like summer crowded? I was thinking it wouldn't be too bad, because of so many kids in school. It's also for a very short time this year! Our plan is to get to the parks early, and leave to beat the heat!

All I want to know is....

Can that doll model "The Megan"????? :lmao:

:rotfl2:

-something about this age gets kids started with the fibbing. Teddy is a TERRIBLE liar though so we can always tell. It's really gotten bad lately. STINKPOT!

-I would LOVE to see your photobucket account!!!:cool1:

-Your poor mama!! Those weight gain shakes are HORRID! Won't get me near one!!!

I'm mad at my husband. He's playing basketball tonight when he is supposed to be home sitting adoringly at my feet!

:flower3:

Cute name! When we picked ours up from the breeder, she said her kids were calling him Scrappy because that seemed to suit him but of course we could change it. Jacob liked Scrappy so it stayed!

Hope things get better with your little fibber. Good thing he's cute, right? That's what I tell Megan all the time.

What did you buy? Yesterday I went to Steinmart and bought some overpriced jeans.

Megan is long-waisted and I always have to lengthen the bodice, but it does seem like this pattern is more of an empire-waist than true waist. The good thing about Carla's patterns is that they are easy to alter. I think the dresses came out great and the girls look cute!

Love the CASE, you did a great job on it and the picture with Wendy is so cute. It's funny, all week DH and I remarked about how pleasant the weather was! I guess it's because we live here and we know how sticky and hot it's going to be. Glad you had a great time!

Yes, I am a little afraid of collars. I have been making mostly peasant tops, jumpers and skirts. I love using velcro on them instead of buttons or snaps (a trick my mom taught me). And I love how I can take scraps from my daughter's outfit and make something for the doll.

We went the week of sept 13 and we thought it was crowded. Not summer crowded, the waits for rides were still around 15 min or less except for soarin. But the park itself was crowded! And the restaurants. Everyone was eating!

I have noticed a huge difference in the crowded-ness of restarants since they started offering the meal plan- I think people feel that because they got the meal plan they HAVE to go to the daily TS that they might have skipped before, or use that last CS credit, etc. This time I am going to double book my dining so if we need to change our plans (which happened alot on our last trip) we arent stuck with cereal or crummy delivery pizza from POR.

Careful with double booking. They have been known to cancel one of the reservations without telling you

Tinka_belle,
(Lurker here) I just realized you are from Louisiana! I saw where you posted about Jena, LA. I grew up in Winnfield and now live in Shreveport. Just had to post - thought it was cool to see someone from "HOME" on here.:yay:
