Thanks for all the compliments on the crabby outfit!! You ladies really know how to make a girl's day!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yes, Parker is very serious about the twirl factor! If she puts something on that does not twirl, she's not very happy about it. Reminds me I've got to get out her turqouise bloomers so she won't be showing everyone her panties at school tomorrow when she twirls.

Hey, you leave Emily's cute head alone! ;)
:lmao: :lmao: I will LMAO if that winds up in a tag!!

I am so excited I found a lady who sews who is going to do things for me for a very reasonable price! I am furnishing everything and she is sewing it! So my girls can be precious till I learn how to sew lol. Or my life slows down enough and we stay out of the hospital long enough for me to learn anway! I am going to do my own appliques though since I know I can do that. Anyway what patterns do you guys use most? I will be sewing for a four year old (who is tall) and my 2 month old. So rompers for the baby and I love the shirts with capris for the 4 year old. Like the outfit that 2cutekidz just made TOO PRECIOUS btw! I also will probably want her to do some twirl skirts for the 4 year old. Would LOVE suggestions. :D

Thanks!! I use CarlaC's stripwork jumper from YCMT, but her Simply Sweet ebook may be more versatile. And I just tried her easy fit pant - love that one too!!

Adorable!!! I love the headbands!!! What pattern did you use for this outfit? Is it the portrait peseant dress? I like you can use it under many different dresses. Super Cute!!!

Sorry, I think once I was trying to compliment Emily's bows and it came out that she always has a cute head or something silly like that. It was funny at the time, I promise! :flower3:

It doesn't take much to confuse me these days!

I am so upset today :( I bought some Embroidery designs that stated 48 hour delivery on teh 12th. Well, I am still waiting for them :sad1: I have emailed the seller several times. I know things can go wrong and life happens but she has relisted the designs since my purchase which leads me to think that she is just ignoring me. I have to wait 10 days before I can file with PP and even then i do not think there is anything they will do since it is not a tangible item :(

:headache: I'm sending you an email!

Thanks! Yes it is the portrait peasant dress under the stripwork jumper without the strips :rotfl: I just realized, she also has her "bo-peep" bloomers on under there too.

Lily is falling asleep in my lap so I'm a little bit stuck at the computer. So while I'm here I found my favorite baby pic of Seth. I only posted baby pics of Luke and Lily. Seth and Jay were pre-digital. I'll have to find one of Jayden but I had this scanned in. My brother plopped his hat on Seth's head (I am holding him) and took a picture. He was 2 months old. :lovestruc

I been following this thread since the begining with envy, as a mother of two preteen boys I really had no reason to do any sewing...(I used to sew years back...I even made my wedding gown)...well getting ready for our trip to disney I decided to make my own handbag, this is my first time sewing one and without a pattern it was a little tricky for the measurements, I did use a DisIng (cannot recall who's) for the front... not to bad to be the first one

SUPER cute!!!

Would it be corny if I made myself some Disney sundresses for our trip? hehe...I'm jealous of all this stuff I'm making for Violette :rotfl:

Heck no!! I'm all about dressing Disney while i'm there!! It's part of the fun!! Have at it!!!:thumbsup2

-on my journey to getting pregnant I met with my Gastro Doc yesterday and I am now scheduled for an upper endoscopy to see how Barrett's is doing and then a gastric something or other (stomach screening) they will feed me radio active scrambled eggs and then watch my stomach for 4 hours. Oh Boy! More fun than a barrel of monkeys I bet. He suspects my stomach isnt emptying quickly enough, although there are no safe meds to help this during preg.

Will they be GREEN EGGS? Is Ham going to be involved? Maybe it will be a magical Seuss type of experience? Having been a recipient of radioactive gunk myself, I know it's not the most fun situation. Wishing you oodles of luck on this endeavor!!! You are a SUPER TROOPER!!!

DD has a field trip to a local High School to see Seussical the Meussical (sorry sp.) I made her a Horton outfit a few weeks back to wear to the movie, she got to wear it to school today!! Horton is on the bodice, but she didn't want it on the front today, so it's on the back! lol.

LOVE LOVE LOVE that fabric! It's GORGEOUS!!! Isn't 7 a fun birthday? They are emerging from "little girlhood" but still little enough to need mom more than not!

:goodvibes

I have been lurking for months now and you guys have got me sewing again. I use to sew for myself years ago and stopped sewing when I had children - had the late in life. They are now 9 and 7 and wish I had seen these gorgeous clothes back when my daughter ws young - she would have looked adorable. I think I have talked her into some capris with ruffles- which leads me to why I was going to post - I bought a ruffler today - after seeing ideas and such posted here and looked at it a couple of times at Joanns - honestly did not even know they made such a thing. So I bought one today and went to YCMT and down loaded the ruffler guide and was so proud of myself when I made a ruffle - almost brought tears to my eyes. Am having surgery tomorrow - Breast cancer - but I know you all will be a part of my recovery. When I am able to - I will post more - feel like dropped a bomb and all I wanted to do was to share my excitement of the ruffler.

Marla
Maria-I hope surgery went well this morning. You'll be in my prayers.

I think we may have a lot in common. I just started sewing again with the inspiration of this thread. It had been about 10 years since I sewed any clothes. I used to make stuff for nieces/nephews and friends. I too had my children later in life (I had just turned 38 when my first was born). I have a DD who will be 9 in May, a DS who turned 7 in Jan and a DD who turned 5 in Jan.

You've got me interested in a ruffler now. Can't wait to see photos of your capris. I made my DD an ALine top and it looks super cute on her!

Not at all!!!!

Next is the Apron top and pants- I am not happy with the straps the are to far apart and keep falling down :sad2:

How cute! Love the artsy photos!

I decided this year I would order a cake instead of buying one. I got the Mickey and Minnie themed cake. $30 for the one that feeds 24ppl!! I ALWAYS bake-but Im forcing myself to make this party non-stressful.
Our new couch and loveseat arrived today- woohoo!! Bob's Discount Furniture! I made sure to get it "Goof-Proofed"

Great idea to make things easier for the bday! You've reminded me that I have order a cake for my birthday.

Good luck with the dr!

Can't wait to see the Ariel outfit!

That is great!!!

Mr Moonk's Mom Hi I have been lurking on here for a couple months now. I see that you will be at the POP in June..... so will we..... our very first trip. I have two girls ages 5 ( 6 in June ) and 4. We are soooo looking forward to our trip. :yay: Just thought I would say hi. Missy
I'll be at Pop for the 5th time in 2 1/2 weeks. That will make Pop the resort I've stayed at the most. It is such a fun place!!!

So i have been very busy sewing some B-day outfits for my kids ,I finished Jayedyn's and wanted to share with you all , Today is her B-day she is 7
th_DSCF1665.jpg
Cute! Happy Birthday Jayedyn!!!

Finally got the crabby outfit finished.
th_crabby1.jpg
I love that outfit!!! Love the crab on an angle!

That has to be awful. That's kind of the way it is here right now (not snowing though). Two days ago it was warm and the last two days it has been cold.

We're having a similar weather pattern. Zoe was playing in the sprinkler with friends on Saturday when it hit about 80 but on Monday the temps dropped so highs are in the low 50s. :scared1:

2. When you add ribbons to your outfits do you pre-wash them too? Do you just wash them by hand and put in the dryer before you apply them to the outfit?

I try to prewash all trim, including ric rac and ribbon, just to be sure it holds up to whatever laundering method the clothes will go through. If the ribbon or trim is a brand I trust, I don't always so this if I don't have time. When I wash, I put the trim/ribbon into a small mesh lingerie bag so it doesn't get tangled with the clothes.

Would it be corny if I made myself some Disney sundresses for our trip? hehe...I'm jealous of all this stuff I'm making for Violette :rotfl:

Well... I have a pair of sneakers that I'm painting for myself with Mickey and Minnie plus I'm going to try to do an appliqued tee for each person in our group, which is 9 adults and 3 kids. :rolleyes1 I'm also trying to decide if I want to add some decoupage patches to a pair of jeans or maybe make a "camp" shirt for myself.

So how is this for creative? I was looking in the clearance aisle of Walmart. They had a curtain valence for one dollar. I thought...hmmmmm 15 inches long, by 60 inches wide....a SKIRT!!! Yes I did!!! I brought it home, sewed up the side seams, slipped elastic through the rod hole, and I am done! No ruffling, no finishing any edges. Simple, and the easiest thing I have ever done! Yep easier than pillowcase dresses of t-shirt dresses!!! Since then I have gone back and bought a Tink valence, and a Spongebob valence that were on clearance.

Oh and I bought a tee to match for 1.50. So here is my 2.50, under 5 min outfit:)

HAPPY belated BIRTHDAY JAYEDYN!

Finally got the crabby outfit finished. Thanks to everyone that replied on how to place my crabby. I asked my hubby which way and he said angled, so I went with that. It also covered up a slight stain when it was angled as well.

Anyways......

crabby1.jpg
That is too cute. I love the fabric.

We just got back from Go Diego Go! Violette Looooooved it! She sat with me the whole time and didn't try and squirm away. She never lets me hold her that long, let me tell ya. Anyone else could..just not me..She stood on my lap and jumped up and down. She loved the Bobo brothers. I'm so glad I took her. No cameras were allowed in the building so I didn't get any pics of her there, except the free online pic they were doing for everyone. So I took pics of her once we got home. I went with the green shirt. I'm so happy, I got a lot of compliments and people asking me where I got her dress. It's the 1st time I've ever taken her out in something I made. It felt really good. Haha, don't mind the toy bomb that went off in my livingroom :D

Adorable dress. I can see why she got so many compliments.

Yours is so cute!!! I saw a cute eyelet valance that I was thinking would make either a cute skirt or the skirt part of a yoked dress.

Would love to see photos of your sneakers!

I found the perfect Vans sneakers for DD's Cars outfit but they were $35 and I couldn't find them locally so $8 shipping. I just couldn't spend $42 on sneakers for one outfit. I went to Walmart hoping to find white canvas sneakers to decoupage with the Cars fabric but I found Vans knock offs in black & white check for $7.50.

Great idea and so cute!

So I went a tiny bit crazy at JoAnns.

I got Buzz to make a top (probably A Line) and denim to make shorts. DD says she loves the fit of her Cars shorts.

Found this cute Pooh fabric in the clearance spot for my oldest DD (youngest still won't wear pink). She loves it. I'm not sure which top pattern I'll use for this.

I got this craft panel in the clearance section. Thought they would be cute appliqued

Then I went to Walmart to find the sneakers and found this 8x8 100% cotton panel. I just had to go back to JoAnns to buy Nemo fabric. The panel will be the bodice of a simply sweet top, the Nemo will be the skirt, the blue will be the straps and back (and sides on the front bodice). I think I'll make Nemo capris with blue cuffs. I'm most excited about this one.

Great finds!!! Congrats:banana:  I only wish the one I went too had those on Clearance. Especially since they were half off. But I cant complain I got almost 200 yards of fabric Sunday. But I still love  the ones you got. Especially the denim.

Yipee! Finished another project! I made this Pooh dress for Olivia for our trip but I am thinking now it is to summerish even with a long sleeve shirt for December. What do you think? lol, I think the Lime and Hot pink make it summerish and then the white just makes it even more summery. Oh well, I can add it to her overflowing closet I guess unless you all think we can pull it off for our trip!

I really like the Tink combination!

Wow! You do have a lot to keep you busy!

I am kind of in a slump lately! I have had fabric laid out and ready to go, but each time I sit down to try to create, I go blank!:confused3

I wish I had a trip planned in the near future! It forces me to be more creative quickly!

I just put in some Disney CD's to try to get me in the mood. The only thing is it is making me miss Disney even more!:guilty:
