When I signed up for the YCMT newsletter I got a bunch of free stuff including a headband pattern. It is reversable and you can use 2 different fabrics. It velcros shut. It takes a couple of minutes to make and is so easy. I use it a lot (just made 8 of 'em last night) but the thing I like best is they really stay in well. You can also add buttons or flowers or fun stuff to them. I do make the next size up and use a longer strip of velcro to make it fit better. It seems to run a little small. PM me if you have any questions.

Love the headbands! Do you put interfacing in them?

Thanks!

Darling! I just got some bows on :wizard: for Lily that are that huge! They look cute on Emily, but Lily's head is so small...oh well, we'll try them. They are cute. I love the outfit!

Hey, you leave Emily's cute head alone! ;)

Gotta a silly question: what is the best way to make headbands? DD has thin hair and I love the material ones that match the outfits.

I like this link that was in Teresa's bookmarks: http://www.heatherbaileydesign.com/Headband.html

Both outfits are cute!! I just love CarlaC's stripwork jumper pattern.

I got the Royal Princess Petticoat!!

After taking the second picture, it actually makes my driveway look good.

WOW! Love it...I might have to order one for my dd!

THat is gorgeous, and I am so glad you posted it!!! Dh and I were having this discussion about that pillowcase. I wanted to use it to make something for dd, and was going to cut off her hair, and dh says that if I do that, then you can't tell who it is. So I showed it to DH! Great outfit!

That looks GREAT!!!

I have been lurking for months now and you guys have got me sewing again. I use to sew for myself years ago and stopped sewing when I had children - had the late in life. They are now 9 and 7 and wish I had seen these gorgeous clothes back when my daughter ws young - she would have looked adorable. I think I have talked her into some capris with ruffles- which leads me to why I was going to post - I bought a ruffler today - after seeing ideas and such posted here and looked at it a couple of times at Joanns - honestly did not even know they made such a thing. So I bought one today and went to YCMT and down loaded the ruffler guide and was so proud of myself when I made a ruffle - almost brought tears to my eyes. Am having surgery tomorrow - Breast cancer - but I know you all will be a part of my recovery. When I am able to - I will post more - feel like dropped a bomb and all I wanted to do was to share my excitement of the ruffler.

Marla

Welcome, and glad that you post. Hope your surgery went well, and sending you lots of prayers for a speedy recovery.

I finished 2 things that have been on the "list"
First is a hooded towel for an auction basket for a preschool fundraiser- it was SO EASY!!!

Love the hooded towels, and the outfit! I should try and make some hooded towels for my dd and ds! I bought my dd a princess one, and ds a cars one a while ago and the hoods are starting to fall apart.

We just got back from Go Diego Go! Violette Looooooved it! She sat with me the whole time and didn't try and squirm away. She never lets me hold her that long, let me tell ya. Anyone else could..just not me..She stood on my lap and jumped up and down. She loved the Bobo brothers. I'm so glad I took her. No cameras were allowed in the building so I didn't get any pics of her there, except the free online pic they were doing for everyone. So I took pics of her once we got home. I went with the green shirt. I'm so happy, I got a lot of compliments and people asking me where I got her dress. It's the 1st time I've ever taken her out in something I made. It felt really good. Haha, don't mind the toy bomb that went off in my livingroom :D

Thanks!

Nope, just 2 layers of fabric and some velcro! I usually don't even topstitch them.

Violette looks so cute! I love it with the green shirt.

That is so cute!! Very twirly!!
On the last tier/ruffle are the squares half size? That's a great idea  - hmmmm....
I love the "parker"!!!

Technically yes. I just made the same size squares as the rest and then folded them in half to make the ruffle.

xdanielleax Adorable outfit!!! I like the green shirt underneath! Total cutie pie!

Sorry, I think once I was trying to compliment Emily's bows and it came out that she always has a cute head or something silly like that. It was funny at the time, I promise! :flower3:

DD has a field trip to a local High School to see Seussical the Meussical (sorry sp.) I made her a Horton outfit a few weeks back to wear to the movie, she got to wear it to school today!! Horton is on the bodice, but she didn't want it on the front today, so it's on the back! lol.

th_IMG_0447.jpg

That is so cute!!!! Did you post the front allready? I would love to see the other side too!

Oh, so pretty!!!! I love those fabrics!! Lyddy has those shoes too.
Finally got the crabby outfit finished. Thanks to everyone that replied on how to place my crabby. I asked my hubby which way and he said angled, so I went with that. It also covered up a slight stain when it was angled as well.

And most importantly, the TWIRL factor...

I LOVE IT!! It came out really cute. I might have to case your idea for the little squares on the skirt with the ruffle. Too cute.
Boy that little girl has some serious twirl.

Thank you! I thought you might not be able to tell who she was either with her hair cut off, but I really like the way it turned out. :cutie:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jayedyn!!!! Cute outfit by the way.
I am so excited I found a lady who sews who is going to do things for me for a very reasonable price! I am furnishing everything and she is sewing it! So my girls can be precious till I learn how to sew lol. Or my life slows down enough and we stay out of the hospital long enough for me to learn anway! I am going to do my own appliques though since I know I can do that. Anyway what patterns do you guys use most? I will be sewing for a four year old (who is tall) and my 2 month old. So rompers for the baby and I love the shirts with capris for the 4 year old. Like the outfit that 2cutekidz just made TOO PRECIOUS btw! I also will probably want her to do some twirl skirts for the 4 year old. Would LOVE suggestions. :D
I recommend any of the patterns on YCMT.

Cute Cute Cute!!! She gets serious with her twirling doesn't she? :rotfl:

I am so upset today :( I bought some Embroidery designs that stated 48 hour delivery on teh 12th. Well, I am still waiting for them :sad1: I have emailed the seller several times. I know things can go wrong and life happens but she has relisted the designs since my purchase which leads me to think that she is just ignoring me. I have to wait 10 days before I can file with PP and even then i do not think there is anything they will do since it is not a tangible item :(

OH I am so sorry that is happening. :sad1: I hope you get it soon. :goodvibes Once this week I had to put in a complaint. Because a seller sold me a pattern said NEW and UNCUT. It was cut. I have yet to hear from the seller. But recieved a full refund.  I guess they took Paypal more serious than me. :rotfl:
