Yipee! Finished another project! I made this Pooh dress for Olivia for our trip but I am thinking now it is to summerish even with a long sleeve shirt for December. What do you think? lol, I think the Lime and Hot pink make it summerish and then the white just makes it even more summery. Oh well, I can add it to her overflowing closet I guess unless you all think we can pull it off for our trip!

Very cute! I think the pink and green would look good for December! A tropical Christmas combination! A t-shirt underneath would be good for cooler days!

I think you could wear a long sleeve shirt under that and wear it in December. It is adorable!

So I went a tiny bit crazy at JoAnns.

I got Buzz to make a top (probably A Line) and denim to make shorts. DD says she loves the fit of her Cars shorts.

Found this cute Pooh fabric in the clearance spot for my oldest DD (youngest still won't wear pink). She loves it. I'm not sure which top pattern I'll use for this.

I got this craft panel in the clearance section. Thought they would be cute appliqued
DSC07908.jpg

Then I went to Walmart to find the sneakers and found this 8x8 100% cotton panel. I just had to go back to JoAnns to buy Nemo fabric. The panel will be the bodice of a simply sweet top, the Nemo will be the skirt, the blue will be the straps and back (and sides on the front bodice). I think I'll make Nemo capris with blue cuffs. I'm most excited about this one.

Wow you got a lot of great stuff! Is there a green with envy smilie. . .

lol, The fabric is actually a toddler sheet and the pooh pn the bodice is from the matching pillowcase that came with it. I just cut him out :) I got it on clearence for umm, $4.99 lol, I was super excited! I think I am going to make a atching twirl skirt as well but I am not sure yet. The green fabric and the pink fabric are the 1.99 fabrics from Joanns. Here is a picture of the back. I am changing out the buttons for matching ones.

Sorry for the crummy picture. The straps look uneven but after measuring several times after the pictures I have determined that it is the angle of the picture. I am also attaching a close up of the bodice

Lily is falling asleep in my lap so I'm a little bit stuck at the computer. So while I'm here I found my favorite baby pic of Seth. I only posted baby pics of Luke and Lily. Seth and Jay were pre-digital. I'll have to find one of Jayden but I had this scanned in. My brother plopped his hat on Seth's head (I am holding him) and took a picture. He was 2 months old. :lovestruc

He is so stinking cute. I love that big hat on his little head. :lovestruc

So how is this for creative? I was looking in the clearance aisle of Walmart. They had a curtain valence for one dollar. I thought...hmmmmm 15 inches long, by 60 inches wide....a SKIRT!!! Yes I did!!! I brought it home, sewed up the side seams, slipped elastic through the rod hole, and I am done! No ruffling, no finishing any edges. Simple, and the easiest thing I have ever done! Yep easier than pillowcase dresses of t-shirt dresses!!! Since then I have gone back and bought a Tink valence, and a Spongebob valence that were on clearance.

Oh and I bought a tee to match for 1.50. So here is my 2.50, under 5 min outfit:)

I have a Belle dress planned out that will be similar to what you have planned. I want to use the Simply Sweet dress pattern to make a Belle colored dress and I have a panel that has Belle dancing with the Beast that I want to use as the bodice.

LOVE that!!!! Your DD is SO cute! We have a real soft spot for Pooh in this house! I think it would work for a December trip. You never know what the weather will be. I've been with highs in the 80's (been with lows in the 30's too).

I really like the Tink combination!

Wow! You do have a lot to keep you busy!

I am kind of in a slump lately! I have had fabric laid out and ready to go, but each time I sit down to try to create, I go blank!:confused3

I wish I had a trip planned in the near future! It forces me to be more creative quickly!

I just put in some Disney CD's to try to get me in the mood. The only thing is it is making me miss Disney even more!:guilty:
Thanks Tom! Hope you inspired soon! You've certainly inspired me! Hope you can work out plans for a trip soon too! Should I some special character friend send Leighanna a postcard?

Great finds!!! Congrats:banana:  I only wish the one I went too had those on Clearance. Especially since they were half off. But I cant complain I got almost 200 yards of fabric Sunday. But I still love  the ones you got. Especially the denim.

Melanie
Thanks! 200 yards? You'll be busy!

Nice score on the fabric!
Thanks!

Aren't those panels cute? I'm sure you Belle outfit will be adorable! I liked the Pooh and Tinks ones too. I wasn't sure I liked the blue fabric but I just printed out the bodice pattern piece and I will have to add a few inches to each side of the panel for the size 6 bodice. The blue matches the pebbles in the fish tank perfectly so I'm sure that will make it all pull together.

OK...off to go wash some fabric and practice a button hole so I can finish the Cars shirt.

Who was looking for "rash guard" swim tops? I dont know what size they go up to but both the Disney Outlet I was at, as well as the Disney store had them- Minnie Mouse in yellow, Buzz Lightyear, Princesses, there were several.
I also bought at Target. And Rugged Bear often has a cute "wet suit" looking one- I love this last year- zips up back, only thing is for kids with diapers its a bit of a pain to change them.QUOTE]

Hi - I was the one!! I wish I had a Disney Outlet near me!! I'd love the Minnie or Princess ones for the girls and the Mickey, Cars or Buzz for Tim!! How much were they?
I usually get Elizabeth the suits from Target, but this year she is more like a 7 and last year she fit the 5T - I can still get Hannah the Toddler ones, but hadnt seen a real good one yet for Elizabeth....

Thanks, Wendy

DD has a field trip to a local High School to see Seussical the Meussical (sorry sp.) I made her a Horton outfit a few weeks back to wear to the movie, she got to wear it to school today!! Horton is on the bodice, but she didn't want it on the front today, so it's on the back! lol.

IMG_0447.jpg

The bows...

IMG_0436.jpg

Wow, love this outfit! And the bows! Our schools over here, both private and public, have to wear school uniforms to school and on field trips.Girls are aloud to wear bows in their hair, but only basic styles and the bows have to be the colour of the school uniform. Its not much fun, but it does take the stress out of picking out an outfit evry morning!

Finally got the crabby outfit finished. Thanks to everyone that replied on how to place my crabby. I asked my hubby which way and he said angled, so I went with that. It also covered up a slight stain when it was angled as well.

Anyways......

First I have to say thank you guys for the complements for the bag, it was a huge hit today, I have brand names handbags that I paid lot of money for and never gotten a complement for them... Everybody was asking me for a bag ...I got 15 orders today, the funny thing is that I did not do it for selling it was just that you guys inspired me to do some sewing , so I decided not to charge any money for them but got my hands busy now, ...this is where I need help ...I was doing laundry and sewing at the same time, I put my futons covers in the dryers and totally forgot about them, well....they burnt and also shrunk, I went to the website to order new covers and was shocked at the total price over 500.00 (cheapest material) for the whole set. I think that maybe I could do them myself but not know how to start. I thought about buying sheets to sew them, that way if I messed it up I will not loose a lot of money in fabric, I have a complete futon living room set , a queen size, full size, chair with ottoman, round(4) and square pillows(6), what do you guys think, can it be done? any ideas or maybe a website that can help me? The fabric store that I have close to me does not sell patterns:confused3

TIA
Linnette

Ok, i finished the pettiskirt for tahlia that i posted unfinished last week. it was suppost to be for her birthday in May. but i let her wear it last friday night to High School Muscial on ice.

We had a great time at the show, it was just jayden, tahlia and myself. My mum watched Ash and Blake for me and dh was at work. We caught the train into the city, had dinner and then caught another train to the venue, it was great not having to drive and worry about parking/traffic etc. The show was good! the kids enjoyed it and tahlia sung along to all the songs. I was actually surprised how many older teens were there, there were quite a few groups of 17years+ both guys and girls.

Anyway here are some pics of the pettiskirt, its not perfect as like i said before i dont have a ruffler yet, so it is all done by hand. The purple strips for the bottom were 4 yards long each, and there were 8 of them! It doesn't look as full and puffy as the brought ones, i dont know what i'm doing wrong! maybe its the fabric that is wrong, i got chiffon, but maybe its not the right type.

Here is Tahlia -

Ash wants one too, so while tahlia was at school yesterday she wore it around-

Not too summery at all. It is Florida after all.

ok, im not too sure why some of the photos are huge, i did resize them! Also the top pic of the petti the colours are abit funny, it looks like a grey stain over the purple, but there isn't. The skirt is bubblegum pink in colour with a ice lilac ruffle.
