Wow! Great Job! I am scared to tackle this myself. I might have to because they are so darn cute.

This is a plaid- very New England style. Rose and raspberry with green and a bit of cream, with accent pillow in cream with floral on it.

DH and I carried our former couch out to the street for trash pick-up- costs $30 to throw it out! LOL!! Same here- first real set we have bought. We got a L-shaped one for TV room a few years ago- but thats not the same. This makes me feel like we have a real living room now- of course this is more of a family room for us.- its not as red as it looks in this photo.

That is very pretty. I'll take a pic and post it later today.

I have been lurking for months now and you guys have got me sewing again. I use to sew for myself years ago and stopped sewing when I had children - had the late in life. They are now 9 and 7 and wish I had seen these gorgeous clothes back when my daughter ws young - she would have looked adorable. I think I have talked her into some capris with ruffles- which leads me to why I was going to post - I bought a ruffler today - after seeing ideas and such posted here and looked at it a couple of times at Joanns - honestly did not even know they made such a thing. So I bought one today and went to YCMT and down loaded the ruffler guide and was so proud of myself when I made a ruffle - almost brought tears to my eyes. Am having surgery tomorrow - Breast cancer - but I know you all will be a part of my recovery. When I am able to - I will post more - feel like dropped a bomb and all I wanted to do was to share my excitement of the ruffler.

Marla

I know I'm late...as usual...but I am sending good thoughts and prayers your way! This is a great group and full of wonderful support when needed (of which I have needed a lot!).:goodvibes Here's to seeing what you create during recovery!

Suggestion needed!!!

I have made a patchwork twirl skirt and I am going to applique the crab on the shirt.

Here is the material:
crab1.jpg

I have the crab applique ready to go on a white shirt but I can't decide if I want to put the crab sitting straight up or turn it a little bit at an angle. It would still be in the middle of the shirt just off kilter some.

What do you think?
a) crab sitting straight up
or
b) crab angled a bit

I vote for A. Can't wait to see!

Love the bag!

Would it be corny if I made myself some Disney sundresses for our trip? hehe...I'm jealous of all this stuff I'm making for Violette :rotfl:

No! I would so make some if my body would fit in a sundress and I would not look like I was wearing a tent! I am starting to diet (YUCK!) I have been doing pretty good. Just takes some time to get back on the track of eating right!

-on my journey to getting pregnant I met with my Gastro Doc yesterday and I am now scheduled for an upper endoscopy to see how Barrett's is doing and then a gastric something or other (stomach screening) they will feed me radio active scrambled eggs and then watch my stomach for 4 hours. Oh Boy! More fun than a barrel of monkeys I bet. He suspects my stomach isnt emptying quickly enough, although there are no safe meds to help this during preg.

DD did NOT sleep well last night- I tried bringing her to bed with me. BAD idea. didnt sleep til 2:30- after I finally gave her a bottle and returned her to her crib. I cant believe she'll be 2 on Monday!!!!

pixiedust: for the endo...no fun I hear! But here is to all going well and the little one going to sleep! We must of been up wandering around with little ones at the same time last night! My 4YO was up too! He ended up with me and DH on the couch.

BTW - My Grandmother is doing pretty well today. I spoke to her and she said she just hates the meds the doctor put her on. They make her have a headache and sick to the stomach. She really does not feel like eating much. Thanks for all of your kind words and prayers.:flower3:

Good morning everyone!

I have two questions that I hope you can help with.

1. Does the ruffler work with any machine? I have a 32 year-old Bernina. Still runs like a champ so I really don't want to replace it. I'm interested in using a ruffler with it.

2. When you add ribbons to your outfits do you pre-wash them too? Do you just wash them by hand and put in the dryer before you apply them to the outfit?

I'm finally working on a few outfits for DD instead of the dolls!

Thanks for your help!

I'm in the same boat as far as my DD10! I'm starting to make her a few outfits. I hope your surgery is a great success today!

I will take a gander at your questions.

1. Most of the ruffler foot attachments I have seen are low or high shank attachments. There are some that are brand specific however the no name ones work just as well and can be found for a LOT less $$. If your machine has a snap on foot, I know I have seen snap on ruffler feet on Ebay but again, They are more then the attachments.

2. I have never prewashed ribbon that i use on an outfit and I have never had any issues with it. I guess if you wanted to prewash though I would hand wash and hang to dry :)

Hope to help some Candice

Good Morning! I have not pre-washed my ribbon and have never had any problem.
Don't have a ruffler or I would try to help...I can dream of having one?

DD has a field trip to a local High School to see Seussical the Meussical (sorry sp.) I made her a Horton outfit a few weeks back to wear to the movie, she got to wear it to school today!! Horton is on the bodice, but she didn't want it on the front today, so it's on the back! lol.

I'm a big time lurker here, I LOVE all the cute things you guys make. I'm not really a sewer but I'd like to try it sometime. Anyways, I'd like to try to make something for our disney trip. My DD's will be 4 and 18 months when we go.
