So I've given in -- DD8 wants to buy a new Belle dress and she wants the red grand ball one. Hello $85! I think not. So I'm off to Joanne's to price fabric. The red velor and white brocade are going to cost a fortune, but thank goodness for coupons! I think I'll treat the bottom like a sundress - because I have a pattern - and the top like a peasant top - again pattern.

Last time we went I made the yellow Belle dress with no pattern and used white construction paper to make my own pattern.

So wish me luck! Oh, did I mention this will be a surprise, so I can only work on it when both girls are at school.

Looking for some ideas for Ariel..I did the scale skirt last time, so I'm looking for something else. Any ideas?
Our Wal-Mart has red and blue velour on clearance right now. I was thinking about buying some and putting it up for winter.

Here are the pants on Georgia. I still am not sure what top to make. any suggestions? I was thinking maybe two different ones. I still have a lot of this fabric left.

Cute pants! How about a peasant top to go with them? Georgia sure does seem to like them!

I always knew if we had a girl I would name her "Scout" from To Kill a Mockingbird...it's my favorite movie , and book and character ever. Well that and Scarlett. Then along comes Scout Willis, and Scarlett Johansen, and I didn't want my daughter to be thought of as being named after a movie star. PLUS my family went nuts that my daughter was the first girl in the family in 27 years, and we were going to name her Scout. So DH and I went through the entire name book seperately. We each wrote down about 20 names that we each liked. Only 2 that matched..Audrey and Grace. So now my daughter is...yep basically associated with 2 movie stars. Can't win:) Although I will say, we were not sure that those would really be her names until day 2. We are terrible with naming our children,.

That's my favorite book too! I loved the name Scout until Scout Willis too. I don't know if my 3rd is a boy or a girl but I am considering Harper if it is a girl although my husband probably won't go for it but I like it! Two years ago for my birthday my parents and Dh bought me a signed copy of TKAM. I treasure it! We are terrible with names too. Both of my girls (Grace and Claire) had to wait about 6 hours before they were named and I changed the spelling of Claire's middle name afterwards (from Isabelle to Isabel). Glad to know other people have problems with names too!

The mountain is just Rice Krispie treats mix all mooshed up to form a volcano -type shape. I felt like Duff from Ace of Cakes!

Here is the website for the instructions: http://www.instructables.com/id/Star-Wars-Cake-Mustafar/

Have fun!

I love Ace of Cakes! It's one of my favorite shows!

Hi there :) I'd like to introduce myself if that's OK :) I would have done so sooner but I had to go wish some folks a happy birthday so I could post a picture with my hello ;)

My name is Laura, I'm a SAHM to two gorgeous toddlers. My daughter, Gabi is 2.5 yrs old and my son, Camden, is 1.5 yrs old. They are only 13.5 months apart so I keep pretty busy. I'm always doing arts and crafts with Gabi and sometimes just for me. I love photography and do lots of it too :)

The last time I went to Disney World was in 1998 for my honeymoon. I'm excited to say I'm going back for Gabi and Cam's first trip and my 10 yr anniversary this September. I plan to make some cute stuff for the kiddos to wear.

I've loved looking through your gorgeous work and getting ideas so far :)

Here are a few non-disney things I've made to say hello since I know you like pictures ;)

Here is Camden, I didn't make anything here but I did take the pic and I wanted to show at least one of him since Gabi is mainly who you'll see in the following pics and I hate to leave him out :)

Hi everyone. Well I made another outfit with the fabric I had left from the capris I made for The Peach!

Since my model is at school, I used the next best thing. hahaha Her life size doll I made for her. She uses it to dress it up in her old clothing! Since its her size, its a great model. hahaha

Those are some shorts she will like, however they are not as tight as she liked the baby ones. LOL, but they will work. and she will love that top. I think the purple top she is wearing today, I have some of the flowers and strawberries I saved from the scraps I will put on the shirt!

oh yes, I have some purple crocheted lace I am going to add to it, or more of that pink ribbon to match!

Ok well off to work for me. Catch up with ya'll after 10pm! Happy Sewing!!

Forgot to say in my last post about Georgia that I love her pink Coverse! I'm sure she's going to love the shirt, it's adorable!

 Thank you very much :) No, I'm just a hobbyist who likes taking pics of my kids.

And, have I ever mentioned that my sister, Heather was named after my Dad's ex-girlfriend? :rotfl:

When we were coming up with Megan's name DH's father suggested a name that I was willing to consider... until my DH told me it was his dad's ex-wife's name :scared1:

I don't know who else bought Carla's new pattern today, but the temptation was too great to resist.;)

Here is my adaptation of her new pattern. This is the halter version. I tried to "artsify" my photos a bit. Albeit my redneck version!:rotfl:

I need to work on my focusing, and my lighting!
Leighanna had just got out of the bathtub, and it was past her bedtime, so I just shot these quickly.

I was wondering how you make the beautiful edges to your pictures...what program did you use. I see a lot of listings on :wizard: with those type of edges , but sadly the program I use doesn't have anything like that.

Actually I got these Digi Frames FREE on YCMT. All you have to do is download them and they work with almost all Digital imaging software!

Here is what I have been working on for the last few weeks. It's DD's Easter dress. She picked out almost all the fabrics and chose a design to CASE from :wizard: She loves it and I'm pretty happy with the results too. Thank goodness for my ruffler or I may have thrown in the towel on that skirt.

Her giving me a cheesy smile

Twirling
th_PICT0032.jpg
That is gorgeous ,and twirl factor i rate it about a million trillion, better be careful she may twirl once and off she goes:laughing: what pattern did you use for this?
THIS has been a morning at our house!
My kids are not allowed to eat in our front room...or in any room other than the kitchen for that matter.
Yet they don't think I'll spy the POP tart crumbs, some of which have strawberry cling-ons, all over the couch and carpet!!!!
They blame each other, yet clearly have POP tart remnants all over their mouths :confused3
WHO buys POP tarts for their kids? Why not just feed them cake and cookies with a side of Flintstone's vitamins?
I didn't buy them, I tell you what. The other parent, who lives in our house who gives them Doritos and Mtn. Dew when I'm away for dinner, DID! :headache:

Couldn't find homework, didn't brush their teeth good enough (I check), whining all around.

But! Their gone now, and I am about to take Norah to "Overpriced Preschool" so I can sit and sew in peace. :cloud9:
Oh but that was my day yesterday it was ugly.. I actually cried listening to "A Lullaby for me"
I am just gonna sew today and hopefully DH will get the hint i need my own time and take care of everything else...

off to sew a Hannah montanna'ish outfit for Jayedyn's Friend for her party on sat ....

:rolleyes1

I thought I would throw out how we named Leighanna, Leighanna story! Geez, that sounded redundant!

My wife's grandmother was named Roseanna. She was very much like a grandmother to me too.:lovestruc She prayed that someday she would have a great grandchild to spoil from us one day.
Well, she didn't make it to see Leighanna, but we knew she had a role up in Heaven to get her to us.

Both my middle name and my wife's middle name is Lee. Also, Lee is an often used middle name in my family as well as my wife's.

So we used a different spelling of Lee. Leigh, broke up Grandma's name, Anna, and used Rose as her middle name.

So Leighanna Rose was named!princess:

Norah's middle name is Rose too!

I used to say, "Hoooo boy, you don't smell like a rose today" whe I'd change her bum when she was a baby.

The name "Nora" was found in my genealogy and I liked it. I LOVE it with an H at the end when it's written...so it's Norah Rose. I can't imagine her as any other name! Plus I love Nora Jones the singer. And there was a Norah in Cheaper by the Dozen. Nora Roberts the romance novelist. The name was stuck in my head!

Oh, my MIL died just before I got pregnant with Norah so we also say she had a hand in sending her to us...since we were NOT trying to get pregnant. What a nice surprise!

They passed in heaven...one leaving and one returning :cloud9:

I LOVE Rose as a middle name, just couldn't quite do it with Lily :rotfl:

I love the stories as to how you all came up with your childrens names. Mine are kind of boring for the most part.
PG #1 DS #1 is Tyler Eric, Tyler because we like it and Eric after Eric Lindross the hockey player.

pg #2 was an angel baby that we do know know the gender, I call the baby Jorden.

PG#3DD#1 Emily Tricia, again.. Emily cause we like it and Tricia after my DHs mom, she is Patricia and my SIL stole ( I mean got to use it first) that one so we just shortened it.

PG#4DS#2 is William Francis Henry, we knew we wanted him to be named William after my dad, since my dad died 2 months before we found out I was pg with William, and then my dh also wanted Henry since his dad died when I was 2 1/2 months pg with him. Well when William was stillborn, I wanted my dads full name, this is why he has 3 names. (I miss you baby boy)

PG#This brings us to DD#2 Hannah Faith!!!! oh many reasons for her name. We used Williams middle initials to honor him. I am so happy we could do that. And also because in the bible Hannah prayed for a child, she had Faith that the Lord would give her a child.

Hi ladies and Tom, I'm Baaaaaaacck,

Great outfits, I love the new carlaC design, can't justify buying it just yet as somehow my finger slipped and I now have 3 more Ottobre Design Mags winging their way to me :rolleyes1

I've been in and out of the thread and just catching up - I've been looking after Miss Em who decided to try and fly - off the dining table onto the wooden floor resulting with a visit to the dr and us having to monitor her. Oh and the biggest bump also known as her extra head. She's bruised and battered and feeling quite sore - I forget how much your life changes when they learn to climb

I had planned on sewing as I've had DH off but Em just wants cuddles so I've been knitting instead - knitting works well with cuddling

I loved reading everyone's name stories.

I also have a Rose middle namer :)

Izzy is actually Isabella Rose and this was my most favourite name before I got pregnant, I just knew she was a girl so we didn't really have a boys name.

Miss Em on the other hand we all thought was a boy and so had the name Isaac James, if she was a girl she was actually going to be Isla Grace (expecting another redhead ) about a week before Em was born I had a really vivid dream where i had a dark haired baby girl and her name was Emily Grace. The name stuck but since we weren't expecting a girl I didn't think much of it. So when I gave birth to a wee girl with a head full of dark hair (izzy was completly bald) I knew I just had to call her Emily. :cutie:

I really want another bubba but that just isn't going to happen (I'm a HG sufferer and get hospitalised during pregnancy due to the severity of my vomiting) I'm still traumatised but I'm hoping time will help me (and DH) to forget so we will be brave enough to do it again, I would love another wee girl. Georgia Ellen (Ellen is my Grandmum's real name ) or Ashleigh Ellen - not quite decided lol :)

Awww that poor baby. I sure hopes she gets better. We have all been there.
Love the names.

I think that I am going to take DD to see Penelope when she gets out of school today. Has anybody gone to see it yet? Is it any good?
